Thank you so much for all of your many, many thoughtful messages. It's so amazing to see how many of you were touched by the short life of this tiny little being.
We appreciate every single one of you. Thanks again for always being there.
The kitties send their love,, and so do we.
love to bernadette from austin kitties jake, zoe-bear (aka rowdy), and scout.
ReplyDeleteRIP sweet Bernadette, and I so look forward to watching the Mayfields grow up! Thank you again for fostering needy kitties, and thank you for sharing the joy (and the sorrow) on this blog.
ReplyDeleteit brings me such comfort to know her short time here was in such a loving, affectionate and warm home. so much love in such a little package.
ReplyDeletemy heart goes out to the two of you, who put your heart on the line every day with these precious babies.
*sends love to the kitties and IBKC too*
ReplyDeletethank you for sharing the IBKs with us - even when it hurts. {{{Bernadette}}}
ReplyDeleteI like to think that glow over these five is from tiny Bernadette's halo as she watches over them, you Laurie, Craig and Kim, and the rest of us too.
ReplyDeleteI missed your announcement yesterday that Bernadette died. How sad. Poor sweet little girl.
ReplyDeleteI'm especially prone to weepiness today - my 14 year old tabby Henry is getting an ultrasound to see why he's losing weight despite his lumberjack appetite.
oohh poor babycita... hugs and snorgles to the Mayfields and you. Our shelter kitties at ASAP would send snorgles too. Hang in there Mayfields, we loves you we does.
ReplyDeleteLaurie (and others) - you are the nexus, the heart, of a little network. The itty-bittys are around you at the center, and we...all...are connected one to the other by our tender affection for you and we are thus joined in our mutual affection. Blessings on you all......
ReplyDeleteJust wanted to join in the condolences. With love from Little Man and Cammie and their humans.
ReplyDeleteLaurie,
ReplyDeleteThe work all of you do is incredible. You can take solace in the fact that the last few days of Bernadette's life were spent surrounded by warmth and love, instead of a shelter cage. She will be waiting for you at the Rainbow Bridge.
Ditto to Lyn's comment above!
ReplyDeleteOur hearts go out to you and little Bernadette's siblings. We are rescued kitties, too and appreciate the work you're doing.

Dearest IBKC folk, Thank you, thank you, thank you! For all of your amazing work, for loving Bernadette, and for sharing today this lovely photo of sister and brothers.
ReplyDeleteDale-Harriet, you said that just perfectly! How blessed we are to be joined in this network of deeply caring friends. It wouldn't be so if it weren't for Laurie, Craig and Kim. Kitties would come and go without our knowing them and we'd get by OK, but this way we are blessed.
ReplyDeleteMy heart goes out to you guys, thank you so much for sharing their lives with us.
ReplyDeleteI'm becoming especially fond of Clementine and Auggie... I think they have a certain spark of mischief that makes my heart melt.
I'm crying again... I just keep thinking of her after her bath when she was rolled back in deep bliss as the hair dryer warmed her. I'm so sad she's gone but as others have said, she was surrounded by love and warmth and comfort in her short life and that is a lot. So for that I'm so grateful. Thanks IBKC.

Dart Howell sends her love to Bernadette.
ReplyDeleteIts taken a day for me to be able to comment on Sweet Bernadette. I am grieved for that little girl's passing, but I am also joyful that she spent her last days in such loving and wonderful hands. She really did have a preview of heaven before she passed away, didn't she?
ReplyDeleteSo sorry for that sweet little baby, and for you. You are kind and lovely souls. Bernadette was lucky to have such wonderful caregivers in her short time.
ReplyDelete*snuggles all the kitties* I know Bernadette is at the Rainbow Bridge and is happy. You have my deepest sympathies, Laurie.
