Don't be Scared, Little Man
Once Jerry Lee was old enough to start using the litter box, we started to realize that his tiny plumbing system might not be operating like it should. Often kitties born without tails experience such problems. I will spare you all the gory details, but little Jerry Lee had to pay a visit to the Humane Society vet yesterday. They decided they needed to hold him there for a spell to observe our little man. I am sure he is doing absolutely fine, but I hate, hate, hate it when we have to leave the kitties at the vet. I know, of course, they are well taken care of, it's just that I don't want our kitties to be scared or feel alone for even just one second. Seriously, it breaks my heart. So I know there are a handful of you reading this blog work down at the HS (hello Shana). Maybe you can pop on in on your lunch break and give Gerry Lee a little loving. You can't miss him,, he's the cute little tabby with extra toes and missing tail.
Don't be scared Jerry Lee. We'll have you home soon.

Oh Jerry Lee! Sending you LOTS of love from New York! It's coming express so it will be there right away! Don't be frightened, you little Love Muffin! You'll be back very soon!
ReplyDeleteI empathize completely... I recently had to have my kitty boarded after months of being with him nearly 24/7 (I work from home). It was pure torture, even though I knew the staff would be taking good care of him and there were a couple of other cats to keep him company. When I finally took him home, we had ourselves a right old lovefest — and I'm sure you'll have one with little Jerry Lee! Best wishes for a quick recovery, sweetie!
ReplyDeleteOh Laurie, I'm with you, girlfriend! I'm feeling pretty weepy thinking about the boy. My wise old father (98) keeps telling me that the critters are very lucky because they have neither watches nor imaginations so they don't sit around (as we do) saying, "Look at the time! It's been hours since I saw the IBKC and my siblings. I'll bet they've all gone somewhere without me!" They just live in the moment, as we should. Hugs all around!
ReplyDeleteI hope everything is alright!
ReplyDeleteSending lots of love to Jerry Lee!!
Jerry! Sending you lots of pure positive energy and love from Texas!
ReplyDeleteAnd lots of positive energy to the IBKC foster parent folks! If you are anything like me, I am more distressd than my four legged babies when they are ill or are at the Vet.
What a face! Those big eyes, that trusting look. I know how heart-wrenching it is to leave a kitty overnight. Thank goodness the IBKC has such a marvelous extended family. Jerry Lee will be pampered to bits by Shana Banana and her cohorts.
ReplyDeleteAnd how could he help but get through this speedily with the good wishes of his many admirers zooming his way?
(((Jerry Lee)))

ReplyDeleteHi! I'm new to the Itty Bitty Kitties Fanclub, I discovered this blog through Cute Overload and I had to read all of it *too many cute kitty pictures, I couldn't stop reading until I reached the first post!* Now you're bookmarked on my favorites!
ReplyDeleteI find awesome what you're doing, I live with my adopted little baby boy *well, he's 4 years old and HUGE, but he'll always be my baby!* and I'm so grateful to foster parents. I even intend to become one in the future!
Poor Jerry Lee, I hope he's ok. Tell him I send him all my love all the way from Spain! If I'd be in the US, you can bet I'd do anything to adopt him, he's such a cutie, tailless and everything!
Me too me too, Jerry Lee (awww, Laurie - tension shared is lessened, there are DOZENS of us out here wringing our hands with you!) Also, as has been said -- our wee laddie probably is having a fine time, and will be very happy to be home to tell all the other kitties exciting stories! (And yes - I'm working on my speech!)

ReplyDeleteJerry Lee, sweetie pie....
ReplyDeleteI hope you are living in the cloud of love and hope for your return to good health!
I am hoping the lack of tail would not have a long-term impact for you.
My kitty girls have both had bladder crystals and they assure me theat they sympathize with you!
One of them is even a polydactyl, like your family!
Laurie & IBKC - thanks for giving these little furry ones so much love to start them out so nicely.

Anne Boleyn - I love your Dad's advice. It is wonderful.
ReplyDeleteJerry Lee - You are a very special little kitty and I KNOW that you will be all fixed up and home right quick. I had a furry friend who had to have a bit of "replumbing" and he did just fine. You will too.
Ms. Laurie - we are all with you honey. I've spent long hours worried about my beebies while at the vets. We all have. May our positive thoughts carry you so that the time flies and little JL is home before you know it.
Is there any new news on our little feller at the vet? My Jonah (the kitty I mentioned earlier) is sending all sorts of meows of support, all the way from NC!
