I would like to introduce you to two very fine kitten specimens. The dashing orange boy is Mr Hiram Fairchild. The darling calico is Miss Mary Liza Fairchild. The Fairchildren haven taken up residence with foster mama Sue , and will SOON be ready for adoption.
If you find that you can't live without these beauties in your life, please send me an
email today. They are quite close and would prefer to stay together.
I can't get the mail link to work...do you know of any foster homes for adult cats in the Seattle area? Or would I just check with the shelter? I always adopt older cats and dogs. One cat, adopted at 5, is now 19 and I suspect is getting ready to cross the bridge in a few months, after a long and happy life with me, a junior cat and a dog.
ReplyDeleteWhat engaging eyes they both have!
ReplyDeleteMary Eliza has gorgeous whiskers! And her brother is pretty darn cute too.
ReplyDeleteThe Fairchildren (and you get lots of extra credit for that plural!) are so beautiful and you can just tell that they should stay together forever if there's any possible way! Note to anyone with one cat, or no cat: Two cats are 3 times better than one and 3 are even better than that (I don't do exponential math stuff).
ReplyDeleteWell, there you have it. *I* canNOT live without them. But there are two drawbacks...no, THREE. 1) Evangeline; 2) Lilliane; 3) {sobbing openly} I'm in WISCONSIN! Mary Eliza's little orange diamond is irresistable, and of course it matches her brother. I can take solace in the fact that there is *doubtless* someone out there who also cannot live without them. (And I don't do Wicked Maths either, AB, but I bet it doubles - three cats are SIX times better than two, &c. (With, of course, the upper limit where you become a total Crazy Cat Person and have to be reigned in.)
ReplyDeleteWell. Well. Well.
ReplyDeleteJust LOOK at these babies.
Gorgeous.
Oh My God. Hiram, you tease! I just reached out to ruffle your lovely belly but the screen got in the way! You just cannot do that to a girl...
ReplyDeleteCathy, check out www.petfinder.com. All the rescues (some foster based only) in the Seattle area are posted on there.
ReplyDeletewhat luscious, velvety kittens. want! -esther
ReplyDeleteCathy,,
ReplyDeleteThere's a gal named Lisa who runs a sweet little store in the Madrona neighborhood called "Juniper". She fosters cats, and usally has one or a pair in her store.

I believe her fosters come from the Seattle Animal Shelter.

Another gasp moment. What darling little faces...Mary Liza is gorgeous! I have a weak heart for black or mostly black cats.
ReplyDeleteI gasped when I saw Hiram, love those orange toms, I have two crowding my house right now:) And the calico too - what a special pair!
ReplyDeleteThese babies are georgeous! I may have to move cross-country, sigh!
ReplyDeleteNo, my two (one of whom looks very much like
Mary Eliza but is about 14 years older)want to stay put on the East Coast. So, special virtual cuddles to these two cuties - which I know you will translate to the Real Thing, Sue! The Fairchildren are getting a great start thanks to you!
Did Sue report on Hiram's personality?
ReplyDeleteHe strikes me as a boy who is very "busy" but gets away with it due to his overwhelming cuteness.
Orange and calico and about the funniest pluralization of a surname ever, oh my! *cuddles the two fosterfuzzies*
ReplyDeleteYes, Chanter and Hiram's not just orange, he's an orange tabby who looks like he's been modeling for the Steiff toy company. Mary Liza is a REALLY striking calico, mostly black with some white and small splashes of orange, the best of which is marquis shaped and right in the middle of her forehead. She is really exquisite.
ReplyDeleteSue, so glad to see that you gave in to the foster force! Congratulations!
ReplyDeleteAnd big YAYs for today's adoptions ~ big kitties Hugo, Violet (formerly at Petsmart) & Martina all found their new forever homes! And sweet big kitties Bianca & Harold are on hold for two families ~ we ran out of time to do the adoptions tonight but they'll be back tomorrow morning.
Such a great day, we might have set a record for adoptions (which would be marvelous, since 77 new animals came in to the shelter today, no kidding).
Cathy, do check out the above-mentioned websites. My heart goes out to all who adopt big kitties. Let us know who choose to add to your family!
Loving hugs & scritchies to both Fairchilds. If only I lived closer :)
ReplyDeleteIn the fourth photo - Miss Mary Liza looks like she is whispering into Mr Hiram's ear a **very** intense secret.
ReplyDeleteTheir little faces are so very adorable!)
And the depth and intensity of Hiram's orange tabby-ness is awe inspiring.
And Mary Liza - your a black kitty with her orange tabby & white underthings showing!
Hello little Fairchilds, you are all utterly beautiful and look so happy with your foster Mum Sue. I bet you will be snapped up by great forever homes, preferably one forever home where you can stay together forever!
ReplyDeleteanon - Hiram is sweet as a slice of peach pie. A fat slice. A la mode.
ReplyDeleteLook at them..soooo beautiful..faint + melt here.. - Jeanne
ReplyDeleteQuite a day!
ReplyDeleteYahoo, Sue is a foster mom again! Your bebes are just precious!
And hooray for five adoptions, Shana!
Cathy, congrats on older adoptions. I love ibk's but have always gravitated toward older kittehs as additions to my family. (Plus, with older kittehs you do miss that obnoxious "trying to climb up things they're way too big for" stage. You know, like climbing up your leg while you're making breakfast in nothing but a thin nightie!). :-)
