He Waited... and Waited....
...then finally, his Mama emailed and said "I'm looking for a sweet orange boy...".
This weekend we said farewell to dear, sweet Alive Pettibone. I have to say, it sure is quiet around here without him. He always made his presence known with all his little cries and chirps.
It seems like Charlene might of been missing him . She's been a little restless since he left.
Alvie was adopted by a lovely woman in search of a friend for her big, fluffy Norwegian Forest girl cat. I'm sure Alvie will do just fine, he's used to keeping company with big, fluffy girl cats.
Alvie now goes by the name of Julius, as in Orange Julius. His Mama has already emailed to report he's settling in nicely is already showing her what a love machine he is. It sounds as though she intends to spoil him rotten. Let's hope the updates continue and she sends lots of photos too!
So that brings us to the close of the Pettibone chapter. I've said it a million times before,, but they were such a special litter of kittens. They are going to be a VERY tough act to follow.
And yes,,there will be a following act. I just need a day or two to prepare their quarters.

Dear Laurie, I know, I just know you will keep us posted. Can hardly wait to see the next little family. And **hooray for Julius!** Cicero wants him to know that lil orange boys RULE :) (at least as much as their big sisters will allow: ask Miss Flora Underfoot about that one)
ReplyDeleteYAY! I knew that there was someone out there who could not resist that sweet marmie face!
ReplyDeleteCan't wait for the next batch of IBKs.
Whiskers
Thank goodness! I'm glad he went to such a good home.
ReplyDeleteGood news for sweet little Alvie!!
ReplyDeleteWell, I am just pleased as can be with my new little marmie man. He's sooo sweet! Last night I had him curled up in bed with me until he fell asleep then I put him in his own snuggly bed in the bathroom so he could get plenty of rest. He purrs like a locomotive! He seems to be quite taken with his new family, but they are giving him plenty of space--it sure is funny to see Julius hiss at cats who are more than 5 times his size. His new sister, Snookie, will be a good companion to him. I feel like I won the Kitty Lotto yesterday! Thanks, Laurie...he's just the love of my life! (I'll post pics of him from yesterday on the Alumni flickr site)
ReplyDeleteOh good good good!!!! I am so glad!
ReplyDeleteand that waiting picture is the cutest thing I have ever seen!

ReplyDeleteGood for dear little Julius! And thanks so much, Julius' mommy, for updating us.
ReplyDeleteJulius is lying on a windowsill, paws outstretched in front of him and resting his head on them while looking out. He's patiently longing for his new forever home.
I knew I shouldn't be worried about such a great loving lil' guy - and I'm glad he gets a big fluffy sister. :)
ReplyDeleteI just KNEW it!
ReplyDeleteI am just so very happy for Alvie aka Julius.
Poor Butterbean needs her some new babies!
Huge Hoorays for our orange boy and his fabulous new family! It's almost as though Alvie hung around so we didn't have to be parted so quickly with the Pettibones. Bless his furry little heart.
ReplyDeleteThank you to Julius' new mommy for adopting him, and keeping us current with him. We *need* our IBK alum pictures and info, and you're terrific for supplying them.
This picture of Alvie should become a "I miss you" postcard... it would be too cute to resist, just like him!
ReplyDeleteSo glad he found a good home with a big sister...

ReplyDeleteThe end of quite a wait for Julius/Alvie - at least Julius' mommy did not call him OJ - that would have been TOO awful.
ReplyDeleteHe is so precious - and I was hoping that Laurie's "time off" posting pics meant just this.
Precious Pettibones are all on their lifelong missions....bring on the next members of the IBKC!!!!!!!!
