Charlene rulez! She's such an amazingly gentle and loving cat with those lil' ones. Love the bottom two pics best. Look at that paw resting (or keeping down?) on one of the little brothers. And they clearly love her to bits as well. Charlene for President!
Oh, Charlene, you are simply astonishing. When your cards came out, I reviewed (for the umpteenth time) your "life in pictures," and you were once such an itty bitty yourself.
I am awed and humbled by your endless supply of tender love for the itty bitties that come into your life.
I was recently talking to a friend about what a remarkable cat Charlene is (as I have a habit of sending IBKC links to people when I'm feeling rather "squee!" ish). And he was amazed at how open, loving, and inviting Ms. Butterbean is with each new batch of babes that comes in.
Those pictures are gorgeous! Charlene is so beautiful, and the kids love her so much. My favourite is the picture before last, with her pawn laying on the belly of one of the kids. In fact, all are my favourite.
It's true, she is an exceptional cat; she must get it from the people around her. Seeems like anyone within those walls (including friends who come over a lot!) just radiate love and care and nurturing. SAY! I can even *prove* that! Everytime I look at ANY of the IBK, I immediately go share the snuggles and pettings and kisses with my own kitties - it's just contagious!
Ms. Butterbean, you melt my heart! Such a wonderful foster mama for all these little babes.
Laurie - any luck telling Carmine and Alvie apart? I still can't - for example - who is sticking out their tounge first picture? They also tend to stay together which probably doesn't make it any easier :)
anna, I think Carmine's eyes are less round than Alvie's. As for telling them apart, I believe it's easier when they are together. My daughters are identical twins and their differences are more obvious when they are side by side than apart. I had a friend who had two kitties that looked just alike, but she could tell them apart when side by side. One kitty disappeared and she always said she was never sure which one was left without the other one for comparison! I triple heart Charlene! But I triple heart the Pettibones too.
OK, descriptions cannot begin to tell of these pictures, but I'll try the first two. 1st: Charlene is sitting regally on the floral rug looking "in charge" if slightly cross-eyed. She is being approached by Agnes while the buff boys are in the background and Virgil is barely visible inside a kitty entertainment center. Next up, Charlene has collapsed onto her side and a buff boy is chewing on her foot. Virgil, Agnes and Renatta are in various stages of contemplation and collapse here and there on the floor. You could say the place is littered with a litter plus Charlene.
Oh that sweet Miss Butterbean! Who's she giving belly-rubs to there? I have such a time telling Alvie and Carmine apart. Give that sweet lady-cat snuggles from me!
I love Charlene ButterBean! She has always been my fav (former) IBK. I love how she stretches on the rugs, how she loves and licks each and every kitty and that fluffy tail of hers! Charlene for Prez!
I love how in the picture that is second from the top it looks like Charlene is teaching a kitty class on how to stretch the farthest to utilize the most of a sunbeam. I love checking back daily to see pictures of your Itty Bitty Kitties!
She is such a sweet mama! Hope everything goes well today. I always get nervous when the kitties have their bits removed. ALWAYS do it, but still a bit nerve wracking....
Oh, Charlene is such a beautiful and even tempered cat. I am so envious. My male cat is rather handsome, but he's got the personality of a nipped-up cat. We'll have to work on that.

Charlene, you are the ultimate IBK keeper. Laurie, if (as if) you ever get your fill of Charlene, she has a home with her Auntie Shana!
ReplyDeleteCharlene Butterbean the beautiful kitten herder! Looks like she makes your job easier, Laurie & Craig!

ReplyDeleteShe's so beautiful with the kittens. What a good mama kitty she is to them. She's such a beautiful girl.

ReplyDeleteAwwwwwwww!!!
ReplyDeleteThere is special and then there is a level beyond special, and that is where Miss Butterbean perches so beautifully.
ReplyDeleteThe adoration on the baby's faces as they look at Butterbean is absolutely wonderful.
"Our" Charlene, beautiful inside and out :) What a wonderful foster mom!
ReplyDeleteMiss Charlene has such a way with the little ones. Laurie and Charlene and Craig and Sue all make a superb team!!!
ReplyDeleteThese pictures just made my Caturday. :-)

Thank you Laurie!!!!
ReplyDeleteAnd Miss Butterbean, I adore how you take each group of IBK's "in paw" and teach them how much love is in the world!
And all of Charlene's "staff" I applaud you and all the love you share with the wide world and the IBKC's!

ReplyDeleteOh she's such a good mama ... she really is. They are lucky little kitties.

The final shot in this group looks like Miss Butterbean giving a buff boy a mini-lecture.
ReplyDeleteOkay now, to properly pose as a statuesque kitty, you must place your front paws just so...and then fix your gaze into the distance, like this.
Got it? Now you try it.
And Buff Boy is doing a very nice pose for a youngster - TRYING for dignity anyway!
I had a crappy night, and this was just the therapy I needed to make everything better.
ReplyDeleteNo kitten could wish for a more loving, wise and fair foster Mum than the Butterbean.

ReplyDeleteI see pictures like this and I think Butterbean should get top billing in the FAQ "Who cares for the kittens?"
ReplyDeleteJasonInIllinois
Aw, it looks like the Bean has taught one of the cream puffs to lounge with all fours in the air. The young Jedis are coming along!
ReplyDeleteGAAAAAAAH, I NEED to have that little Seal Point Smeezer kitten!!!
