I get to see (and snorgle) a lot of cute kitten bellies, and I must say that Miss Rosalie has the cutest of them all! No doubt she was purring in this position, and probably vibrating the bed.
So that's where the zippers are! I've been trying to find the zippers on my cats b/c I'm sure they are tiny humans in cat suits. Or maybe we're just big cats in human suits...
Rosalie - work it girl! Work it! The super cuteness thing works every time.
Aww! Lookit those little kitten 'chicken wings'! After raising my kitten at 8 weeks old, he still knows that that position will get him belly rubs, cooing, and full attention. I call it the 'Cat mind control position'.
no.....in our house we call that position the "booby trap"!! You lean in with the cute scratch my tummy position...and you are sometimes rewarded with the famous "back leg bunny kick"....
But, like the sucker that I am...I fall for it every single time...it's the eyes...
The zipper matches the tufts on the heads of the Pettibones. That Rosalie knows how to accessorize. Perhaps she's just fainted from her own adorableness.
Alicia, I know you won't be able to resist commenting on a tortie belly as cute as Rosalie's, so I'm leaving you a little message here. I'm a tortie lover, too! I fell madly in love with your Maddie... Could you send Laurie an updated photo? I would love to see that adorable little girl all grown up...
Spatula, we don't blame you. Who could help it? Before that,Rosalie, gorgeous dark tortoiseshell that she is, is lying flat on her back, front legs stretched over her head, back legs in the air. The girl's got a belly and a skinny little chest. The "zipper" in question is a ridge of fur that goes from her chin to below her belly button, that's the area that James Thurber described in my favorite book, "The 13 Clocks" as, "from her guggle to her zatch".
Awww! What an adorable belly! Just makes you want to give her a big smooch! I'll just have to make do with the cat who is sitting next to me, minding his own business...
It's a little hard to type with my head held way back...but I have to keep this ice-cube-in-a-washrag on my nose, which is bleeding, on account of I hit the monitor really HARD....couldn't help it, I HAD to smooch that roundy, fuzzy tummy! Evangeline allows such foolishness almost NEVER; Lilliane will put up with it now and then, but Rosalie's belly-tum is sweeter than either of theirs. I've said it, you're witnesses, and I'm sticking to it.
She looks so much like my tortie cat... down to the zipper. Do you have a tougher time placing the torties? When we adopted our girl at the humane society in our area, the adoption person told us that the torties always go last because people aren't as fond of this pattern.
To anonymous: You are so right--this photo is KILLING me! Maddie has a zipper, too. I take photos of Maddie all the time and post them on my flickr account, where my name is aliciaseesmice. There is a set called Sophie and Maddie, and the newest pictures of her are at the end.
Who could not see how beautiful and unique torties are?!
Alicia, thanks so much for sharing the links. They look sooo cute. Hard to believe Maddie is so big. It seems like yesterday when she went home with you!
Oh Alicia! Thank you, thank you! Too adorable for words! And thanks, Anonymous, for asking!
Shana, I know where you work and it never occured to me that snorgling was part of your job description! Totally unfair!... I shall have to hate you now.
OK, you're too nice, I can't hate you... it's just too bad our words can't be in color because you'd be seeing lots of green now!
Ok, I gotta get back to Sophie and Maddie (only looked at them once so far, you know)... and Miss Rosalie's beautiful belly now!
I'd like to suggest that anyone who doesn't know the story of Maddie go to Alicia's flickr page where she's provided a link. I re-read it today and got misty-eyed all over again. It's a heart warmer.
So today I substituted Baby Anna's belly for Rosalie's belly. And I snorgled her! I just closed my eyes, pictured little Rosalie and went snorgle-crazy!
I think it worked because about an hour later, Baby Anna was adopted!
And big YAYs for big kitties Rose, Beatrice & Heidi who found their new forever homes today!!
My goodness Rosalie, you certainly do have a fine belly. And I love the way your front paws look like you're making biscuits - just the way my Maren does when she's getting a tummy rub. I can almost hear your purrs through my computer screen.
Essentially you look like one happy itty bitty kitty, perhaps because you realize you hit the foster kitty jackpot the day Laurie took you home with her.
'll take 2 torties to go, please. Send them to Boston, care of Alicia and Tony. They would be joining Maddie and Sophie and have the best life ever! Being their new grammee I would fly up to see them right away. Alicia's mom
Incredibly adorable!
ReplyDeleteOh how I would love to nibble at those sweet little belly-meats!

I have to admit, the zipper makes me a little nervous of what's inside...
ReplyDeleteToo cute!

ReplyDeleteMy girl Toes has a similar pose and it is like a magnet - you just can't resist the request for a belly rub!

ReplyDeleteWhat a sweet lil angel girl! That belly should get plenty of snorgles and nommings. It's what is best for a growing kitten!
ReplyDeleteOh my god. I am so sorry, everyone. I just ate Rosalie. It's the pear-shaped baby belly! I couldn't help it!
ReplyDeleteSpatula, we don't blame you. Who could help it?

ReplyDeleteif you unzip her, is she nekkid?

On second thought - wouldn't fur get caught in a ZIPPER?????
ReplyDeleteHeavens - I bet Miss Rosalie kitty actually has VELCRO on her belly
Much softer and scratches less.....
Oops - being pawed...it must be dinner time since I just got home from work!
I just want to reach through this screen and give this cute little tummy rubs and little kitty rasberries.
