Edward Loomis Davenport

DSC_0678
I know you've seen the little guy before, but I thought you'd like a formal introduction.

It's my pleasure to present, Mr Edward Loomis Davenport.

  2. What a handsome gentleman! So serious! Needs some snorgling - immediately! And, I'm just the person to oblige!

  3. Oh Edward! You look as if you may be the brains behind the Davenports. You and Cecily have a somewhat Ivy League look about you. Wise beyond your years (well, beyond your weeks). I see you as, Edward Loomis Davenport PhD whereas I see Orson as Orson Davenport MVP.
I love you even more now that i know your name!

  4. He gets' a middle name? Wow...this must be royalty!

  5. There's something lynx-y about the Davenports... the pointy, fluffy ears, I think.

Edward Loomis is a gorgeous baby!

  6. Elena - This isn't the first IBKC member blessed with a middle name. My all-time favorite is Wendell Jefferson Hopps.

  7. Oh, my! Another handsome member of the Davenport family, I see!

Edward is sitting up, looking off to the side rather pensively. His head is in sharp focus while the rest of him is rather fuzzy visually as well as in texture. :-)

The photograph is just a smiden too artistic to be a campaign photo of the serious politician looking into the future, but just perfect for an author. You could imagine this on the back of a piece of serious fiction, perhaps a well-research, non-romantic historic novel, or perhaps a book on architecture. "Cleopatra's Cats," perhaps, for the fiction, or "Built Climbing Trees, Pre and Post WWII."

He also has the firm Davenport jaw. He might be an intellectual but he's sure not effete and he could drink any other kitten under the table, then ask for another three fingers of KMR!

  8. i cant wait to see them photo'd all together.
    what a lovely little litter.
(but i hope they're not TOO civilized, they are kittens after all!)

  9. Rock on, annf! with your award winning description! I must admit I did have to Google KMR in order to find that it's kitten formula. I figured that since I'm a beer drinker, KMR was some exotic vodka that I don't know about. For a kitten, it's at least as good as exotic vodka.
Won't it be exciting to meet the 5th Davenport! Pins and needles on that front!

  11. Oh my goodness look at those ginormous ears!!!! He is so handsome!

  12. i think all of these kittens are ivy league, they just belong to different cliques. orson is clearly a collar-popping jock (i mean, look at his neck!) while the other three are a bit more studious and sedated.

  13. Awwww!

He's lovely just like his other brother and his lovely cute sister!

  14. I'm pretty certain all this Davenport composure will go under the table as soon as a ball or string is introduced to the mix... And can't wait to see that! :)

  15. Nice to meet you, little fellow. We'll have to meet over tea one day to discuss the current status of cats in the Roman Forum or somesuch.

  16. Oh those stripes! I can hardly bear the cuteness!

  17. Anne Boleyn, looks like our minds were overlapping about Mr. Edward Loomis Davenport's educational background!

Orson is definitely the MVP type.

  18. *sigh*

One davenport then the next... no favorites, just a lot of melting!!

Inez & Orson look like they may be bro & sis from a different daddy.

I've missed dale-harriet, too... especially the interplay between her and you, Anne B! Hope you're having a great time "off site," d-h!

(But then, I've been mostly reading, not posting, lately.)

  19. Edward Loomis!

My what a big boy name for such a little boy. But it's perfect!

What a sweet boy! And those ears! If he grows into those ears that beg for nibbles, he will be a great big ole kitty!

I just love these Davenports! I swear. IBKC is the kitty equivalent of the Ford Modeling Co!

  20. Oh Oh Oh ~ I got to meet the Davenports today! I love them all! Sweet Inez was front & center ~ just waiting for some lovin' from her Auntie Shana. But I resisted, somehow.

    Thanks, Laurie, for the visit!

And welcome to the IBKC, handsome Edward Loomis!

  23. Oh, Mr. Davenport, you're a gorgeous boy. Those're some ears you got on you, honey, and what looks like an "M" for mischief on your forehead.

It's going to be scads of fun seeing you and your siblings in play mode after all your formal portraits are done.

  24. Annf, I just had to read your description out loud to the husband! So fabulously spot on. Well done!

  25. Nice to meet you Edward. I agree with Anne, you have a very wise face for such a young kitten.

  26. Anne F, that description is brilliant! *giggles* If I wasn't sure just how adorable this latest little Davenport purry is, I am now! Snuggles and scritchies and ear-kisses for the cute little tabby baby. Brown tabby, or something else?
