This says it all, and THIS is why those babies are Superior Additions to their forever homes. Makes ME want to be a baby kitty, just for one day, by Mistress Butterbean.
Be still my heart. So many pictures of the babies - and so many pictures of my favorite - Miss Butterbean.
Isn't that so funny that the boys are so in love with her? Goes to show that no matter how old they get - no matter what species, boys are always Momma boys even if that Momma is a foster Momma.
hmm. i have had this situation before at my home with older established cat and young new kitten. i dont think it is protective. i think it is... "ok this is MY place and yee shall submit for a good washing (smell change/variance) so that you can be worthy to live in it by my standards." that has been my experience. Plus some 'crackin heads' with the major paw-age to keep them in line. its still all learning their bounderies with Ms BBean in HER home. so adorable.
mgoose and kwort- i'm sure you are correct , as my NU-trd 'male Steven' has been trying to bring me into his 'litter' since he was a baby, and still persists in his attempt to make my 'perfume' the same as his.... ah. gotta luf the kittehs.
It's lovely to be back with the IBKC and my fellow groupies. In Massachusetts for a few days for my daughter's wedding, it was a bit difficult to come back to Virginia and "reality", but I'm gradually catching up on all the Livermore pictures and comments and will treat myself to the new cards soon! Hi everyone!
Such a bond Charlene makes with these little guys - this is absolutely adorable!
ReplyDeletethis makes me smile :)
ReplyDeleteJust look at that firm but caring paw of the Butterbean!. She is such a star.

ReplyDeleteAaack! Oh, the cuteness... the cuteness...
ReplyDeleteMs. Butterbean has a firm handle on things and little Lyle loves it!
looks like preperation for a good cleaning to me. "first, you must get a good handle on the slippery kitten" BBean is such a good auntie.

ReplyDelete(apologies, gang, for double post. NO idea how that happened!)
ReplyDeleteI'm sorry, I find Charlene Butterbean to be far more cute than the parade of kittens.
ReplyDeleteThey're cute, too, but c'mon! The almost-imperceptibly crossed eyes, the good-naturedness, the pretty markings... What a cat!
Awwww! Look at her paw! Too adorable!
ReplyDeleteThat protective paw gets me EVERY TIME.
ReplyDeleteUgh...precious!
That is a lovely picture! Well, actually all your pics are lovely...
ReplyDeleteShe is such a loving kitty-partner for your fostering, Laurie.
ReplyDeleteI hope she gets some extra-special catnip or treat of her choice between foster litters.
I love how she lovingly holds them down like that. The kittens look like it makes them feel more secure, too!
sigh!

She is such a good mommy!!
ReplyDeleteI suspect there's been a Butterbeaning in progress! Somebody got held down and _washed_.
ReplyDeletescooterpants -- I have a feeling that's why my cats are constantly trying to bathe me. My grooming standards must not meet their approval.

michigoose, I too have always suspected my feline companions despaired of my hygiene practices.
