ah. shes such a beautiful girl, i'll bet she never has to 'ask' for a valentine. my siamese kitties had the same crossed eyed look, its just so endearing! love ya Ms Bean! Happy Valentines Day!
Honest to God, I clicked over here to send Miss Butterbean a little Valentine's Day note...
Here's hoping you have a day with a warm patch of sun to lie in, exciting things to watch outside your window, tummy and chin scratching, etc. Also, a batch of kittens soon!
YES YES YES!! I *will* be your Butterbean....if you'll be mine! (And lots and LOTS of lovey-hearts to you and to your peoples too, you sweet dear thing!)
You have such dignity accented by your beautiful eyes. May you have a passel o'kittens coming soon... But I am so conflicted about wanting that...but you have had a paw in creating so many well-balanced kitties - we salute you!
What a sweet picture of Miss Charlene, she will have plenty of Valentines all over the web. Glad to see new posts these days, hope you enjoyed your time away Laurie. Happy Valentines Day and Happy Friday everyone - now go hug your Kitties!!!
Chanter, Charlene is posed with a red furry heart between her front paws that says, "Will You Be My Butterbean?" She's looking especially floofy and her beautiful, delicately crossed, blue eyes are gazing upward.I believe that since Charlene has had so much practice loving so many IBKs, she'll be able to handle all of our love and have enough left over for Laurie and Craig and the grumpy Drewey.
There was no love today at the adoption drive I take my foster to every weekend. Not many cats were brought in, but that's OK since not many people showed up either. There were no adoptions. Someone tried but it was clear she wanted the kitten as a status symbol with her friends and not as a life long companion.
Just 3 more adoptions shows to go before I decided Pepi had enough and I keep her. By then she'll be a year old and kitten season will start. The odds of her being adopted are bad now, it will be much worse in the near future. She deserves better. I tried to find her a good home elsewhere. Since that doesn't seem likely, I'll give her a good home here.
And I had my cats brought in for their annual checkup. Both lost weight. Both are healthy. Both were pains in the rear.
Jason, you've been such a dear thoughtful foster parent. If it's right that your kitty finds a home, then hooray and praise be! But if the kitty stays with you forever, s/he's very fortunate. Thank you for being kind.
I'm a bit late, but awww, cuteness! Thanks for the description; I about melted! Of course I will, Charlene. How can I not fall in love with all the floof? :)
Drewey gets love too, can't forget her. *hugs the IBKC folks as wel*
I just discovered your blog and I must admit I have spent few hours looking at your beautiful babies. Every single one of those kittens is so adorable and cute, just can't stand it. You are doing a wonderful thing taking such good care of these kittens. Best of luck to you in everything
I never realized how much I NEED the IBKC until these past few days. It was one thing to know that you were away and, therefore, to have no expectations. But now that I'm checking the site every day for news of a new litter, I've come to understand that your daily updates are an important part of my life. A little warmth, a ray of sheer joy, a loving and uplifting community. The wait is becoming agonizing. I need an IBKC fix soon. I'm getting the shakes.
i agree with the above. my feelings exactly. gee, its been 10 days since Butterbeans fabulous valentines day posting, and i too am going through IBKC withdrawls! help!
Laurie, why don't you post pictures every few days of some of your creations? I know we can look on your Etsy place, but maybe just a little teaser thing and why you made it.... just to keep us going a few more days. I DO know that it's wonderful that there are no kittens that need you and the IBKC, but some of us are feeling weak. Maybe you can pry Drewey out from under the bed and ask her to pose again. Maybe more Butterbean baby pictures?

I'm so conflicted! I love that people are being responsible and neutering their pets. And I know it's not the time of year for kittens. But egad!! I need some babies to drool over! I can hardly bear it.
They sure are, Martin! A great stress reliever! The "king of the post" game they play reminds me of the group I fostered... those bitty kittehs liked to play "king of the mountain," on me! ;-) Lisa
Yes Charlene I will!
ReplyDeleteAs soon as I regain consciousness I will likely pass out again from the joy!
