Wishin' for Kittens
Nope, not yet. I'm trying, I'm trying, I'm trying, but the word is,, there are no kittens down at the HS. It's just that time of year, folks.
I don't want to be a nag, but Traci,,(she's in charge of the fosters) I know you follow the blog,, please, please promise me that the next litter that comes through the door will be ours. Pretty, pretty please??
I understand it's a VERY good thing when there are no kittens, and you all do too,, but I'm having a hard time explaining it to Charlene.

I'm with Charlene...I need my kitty fix! I still check in several times a day, hoping for new little faces. I'm thrilled that no kitties need a home, but am also looking forward to meeting new ones when they arrive.
ReplyDeleteSweet mercy!
ReplyDeleteLook at the look on Butterbean's face! She MEANS business, that lady does! I am almost certain that she doesn't give one flying fig for any explanation. She wanst foster babies NOW!
I must confess that Charlene, foster momma extraordinare will always be my favorite.
tell her they're baking, like sweet little cookies.
ReplyDeleteDearest Charlene,
ReplyDeletePlease try to be patient. It is definitely a good thing when no kittens need your loving care. I know it's hard to wait, but try to relax (and don't try to groom your sister too much, I'm sure she can take care of herself!).
Love,
Daltrey and Jonah and their mom, Darin.
Oh, Charlene! You are the best foster mom in the world!
ReplyDeleteGlad you're back, Laurie! I hope you had a wonderful time!
awww, no kittens...
ReplyDeleteWe love kittens too tho but it's great that there are no kittens that need a foster home atm :) We're fosterig rabbits and at the moment we have two cute girls.
Im hoping this isnt going to get marked as spam but if you want to get your kitty fix here are some blogs/flickr pages...

Enjoy!
Man I wish there were new kitties, but I'm SO happy that pet parents are being responsible and following Mr. Bob Barker's advice!
ReplyDeleteI can't WAIT to see the new IBKC members! :D
Seems like this would be a great time for kitty updates from alumnus.
ReplyDeleteOh Charlene! That look is priceless. Glad to hear no kittens need fostering...but i miss seeing kittens!
ReplyDeleteI'm so happy (yet sad) to hear there are no kittens! I just put an application in to a local shelter for another kitten. My husband has his heart set on a little tortie - I will be content with any happy and healthy kitten.
ReplyDeleteCharlene certainly means business!
Well, hey, you could make the waiting easier by posting photos of kittens that already found a forever home! I miss the LaBath ladies! And the Livermores! Until a crazy cat mama has kittens in the middle of winter, we can all reminisce!
ReplyDeleteOh Charlene, we're with you! So waiting for those itty bitties
ReplyDeleteWe've got kittens in our shelters here - I can send you some! Kitten season seems to be starting early in FL!
ReplyDeleteRebecca - No doubt it's warmer in Florida. I think that has something to do with it. We're on pins and needles up here in the frozen north.
ReplyDeleteactually it is so great that there are no kittens, but alas, in a couple months when late spring rolls back around the HS will probably be inundated with unwanted cats and kittens. i have noticed now that people are keeping the kittens at their homes until they are up to 12-14 weeks old. the best time to get them adopted is when they are around 8-9 weeks, its just a fact that people like itty bitty kittens.
ReplyDeleteand i hope that people who have unwanted litters arent just keeping them longer for selfish reasons.
the look on Butterbeans face seems to say to me "you stupid people! where are ma kittehs!?", and "how come you left me here alone for so long!" (but I'm SURE she's not the type to hold a grudge :) )
What a precious girl! Give her a snorgle for me and enjoy your quiet home!
ReplyDeleteAnd I like Angie's explanation the very best! :)
ReplyDeleteMaybe you can try fostering older kittehs? I've had my little Pepi since late August 2008 and I still need to find her a home. There's not much chance of her getting adopted. She hates being all alone at the adoption shows. No one ever sees the real kitteh. I'll probably wind up keeping her and give up on trying to foster (my condo only allows 3 cats and I'm at my limit).
ReplyDeleteYes, we're pining after the little preciousses too!
ReplyDeletePoor Charlene! But it is almost kitten season and I'm sure there will be lots to choose from soon.
ReplyDeletePoor Miss Butterbean!
ReplyDeleteKittens will come soon!
I can just her the tapppita tappita of Charlene Butterbean's claws as she drums a paw and watches the door for you to come in with kittens.
ReplyDeleteHope you had a lovely vacation and that Charlene won't figure out how to picket.
Welcome home! It's great to have you back, and I deeply appreciate the new pic of the Butterbean.
ReplyDeleteI'm sure glad it's you and not me who has to do the explaining to Charlene about the dearth of kittens. That'd be a tough sell. She neeeeds her kitty fix.
Yay! Laurie's back! You are all correct, it IS wonderful news that we're out of kittens at the shelter. Me, I've been lovin' on some big kitties and we're thrilled when visitors come looking specifically for them!
ReplyDeleteStill, there's no lovin' like kitten lovin'. Hang in there, Charlene, I'm sure they're on their way!
Poor Butterbean! No one to teach and play with...Have you thought about posting pictures of the adults at the shelter? YOu take amazing photos and perhaps this would help the adults be adopted.
ReplyDeleteAs someone on the East Coast, I need a fix of your charming beasts...
It's a wonderful conondrum - but DO go look at the IBK graduates; their blogs are posted here. And Laurie? Yes, WELCOME HOME!! and if you give Charlene a snuggle for each of us -- by the time you're done there WILL be kitties!!
ReplyDeleteDoes Charlene Butterbean keep up with Percival?
ReplyDeleteOooh Miss Butterbean, please show us some kitty patience.
ReplyDeleteIam sure you will get to share your lovin' with the new kitty-cookies soon enough.
You do have a priceless expression though. You have expressed incredible patience.
charlene can be entertained looking in the mirror and pruning herself.. she is just to gorgeous!! those whiskers and those blue eyes they are just so huggable...patience my pretty patience.. LOL
ReplyDeleteSince I adore Ms Butterbean, I vote for more entries devoted to extolling her many virtues.
