How I Tell My Brothers Apart (by Tressa Lovejoy)
From Left to right: Me, Nelson, Harlan and Neville
I know some of you have been having a hard time telling my brothers apart. It's not easy, they look an awful lot alike. I thought I would point out a few of their identifying marks to make things a little easier for you.
Neville has the least amount of orange. He's a big splotch by his tail and a tiny spot on his right shoulder. He has the whitest face. There are dark streaks from the corner of his eyes and a faint orange spot on his nose.
Nelson has more orange on his backside than Neville. He has a spot on his right shoulder that's kind of heart-shaped. His face is a little pointier too and he kind of looks like a baby fox.
Harlan is my roundest, orange-est brother. His backside is almost completely orange, and the orange on his face is quite dark in comparison to the rest. He's not really chubby, but sometimes it looks like he has a double chin.
I hope you find this to be helpful.

ReplyDeleteWhat a purr-fect little family portrait..
ReplyDeleteVery lovely family portrait. Sigh... Such a lovely start to my Wednesday morning.
ReplyDeletepoor harlan! tressa totally sold him out telling the world about his baby fat chins.
ReplyDeleteTrust the girl to be so practical.
ReplyDeleteGotta love those faces. How on earth did you get them to all look in the same direction at the same time?
I think my boss hears me squealing at the last photo. OMG.
ReplyDeleteAndrea in Calif.
Thanks for clarifying! I've been so confused.
ReplyDeleteI LOVE these kittens.
ReplyDeleteI don't know how you get four kittens to sit still like that.
ReplyDeleteyes Tressa, and you are the 'pretty one' :)
ReplyDeleteIve always wanted to take Tressa home ever since I saw her but now I want to take the whole family together!
ReplyDeleteThat sure is one cute family picture!
Laurie any chance of a larger pic? For personal non-commercial use of course!
what a lovely description of your brothers Tressa.. You are the best ^_^ - Jeanne
ReplyDeleteDoesn't Nelson just look like a grown up cat already? My, how fast they grow!
ReplyDeleteMore Tressa please!
Tressa is quite eloquent. Not a bit of lolspeak to her. Glad she shared these tidbits!
ReplyDeleteTressa is a complete doll and a very studious young lady.
ReplyDeleteOh and Harlan...PINK LIPS AND NOSE! Very kissable.
I use IBKC as therapy at work sometimes. Breath deeply and look at kittens. Ahhh!
Aww! Thank you Tressa! I'd like to be confused and accidently take them ALL home! :D Such precious purr babies! :)
ReplyDeleteOh Tressa, thank you so much! That will help a lot. I think it is so funny because for some reason, the boys just look like boys to me and Tressa looks like a girl - usually with a kitten you can't really tell, but for some reason I just get the correct gender vibe from these guys and gal. Either way though, they are very adorable.
ReplyDeleteLittle chubby face Harlan!!!!! I love him!!!! Well, I love all four of them. He just looks extra kissable in this picture!
ReplyDeleteOh they are all so beautiful...but that last picture of Harlan...well, that just melted my heart! I am sooooo in love with Harlan...sigh...
ReplyDeleteThese truly are the cutest bunch of all.
ReplyDeleteTnx, i hope i wont forget who's who now....
ReplyDeleteSo we can call them little orange, somewhat orange, and mostly orange?
ReplyDeleteCan somebody please take them all?
Oh, Neville, I want to eat you with a SPOON!
ReplyDeleteOMG, this has got to be the cutest family of kitties I've seen on my almost 2 years following IBKC, and that is saying a LOT!
ReplyDeleteI second the others such as Martin, wishing all 4 can be adopted together...even better if it could be me ;o) too bad I'm in the SE corner of the USA ;o(
I am still speechless at the cute of these Lovejoys!
ReplyDeleteOh Tressa thank you . . . but I am still having some difficulty . . . your foster mom needs to take some more pictures really showing off those distinctive features . . . would you talk to her about that . . . and of course more pictures of your beautiful face too.
ReplyDeleteoh tressa. i wants that little torbie kitten so badly.
ReplyDeleteLove the double chin photo!
ReplyDeletePersonally, I prefer to stick with my elements idea. Too much anime, or something. ^_^;;
ReplyDeleteThanks to Tressa for clearing this all up. You have a way with words, little one.
ReplyDeleteAAAIIIIIEEEEEE! nom nom nom nom...
ReplyDeleteThanks, Tress!
ReplyDeleteIt also kind of looks like Nelson's blaze is a little straighter than Harlan's.
Belated but still. Yay! Now I know more of the details of what these babes look like. :) This makes for a happy chanter.
ReplyDeleteCuuuute kitties, of course. It just needed saying again. *cuddles all the kittens, ends up with about four colors of fur on her clothes, doesn't mind a bit*
In the top picture Nelson almost looks like he has 'mutton chops'!
