You've met three Lovejoys so far, but there's one left to introduce.
I'm curious to find out what you all think # 4 might be, so I've set up a little poll for you. ( look over there on the right hand side,, up there at the top).
You've got until Monday at 9:00 AM (PST) to vote, then shortly there after, the mystery kitten will be revealed.
And YES, I am saving the cutest Lovejoy for last.
no way you are saving the cutest for the last. They are all the cutest- they have to be.
ReplyDeleteI agree. There can be nothing cuter. If I were nearby I'd steal them ALL.
ReplyDeleteSQUEEEEEE! I can't vote... I'm just dying in anticipation of the cutest! Must go get smelling salts and lots of pillows to fall one when you reveal the last Lovejoy
ReplyDeletelet's see, three orange creamcicles must be leading up to a licorice black, or maybe a tortie?
ReplyDeleteHmmm... it has to be a calico tri-color. So far, it's been all boys, so we're due for a little girl and I bet she's got some black.
ReplyDeleteI'm going with calico - a little calico girl would be the only kitten to top the cuteness so far!
ReplyDeleteI was going to go with a black and grey taby, but that wasn't an option... so I say BLACK!
ReplyDelete;)
Perhaps a silly question, but what is a Torbie?
ReplyDeleteThanks for a wonderful blog. I come by everyday all the way from Denmark to look at you wonderful pictures. Please, don't tell my dogs. :)
ReplyDeleteIs there a prize for getting the right answer on this post? :P
I decided calico, assuming that she'd have some white on her, looking at these little boys.
ReplyDeleteYes, I've decided that it's a sister. They can't all be cute marmie stripey boys can they?
How ... how can you say that? That the last one is the cutest? That's like saying one of your kids is the smartest. I suppose that even that can be objectively measured, but cuteness? It is tewtally in the nose of the besnorgler.
ReplyDeleteI am very curious. I really have no idea what the the other one would look like... Probably not a red-white kitty this time?
ReplyDelete9 P.M. tomorrow!!!!! We'll all be unconscious by then so only those new to the IBKC will ever know about this baby. Maybe this is a good torture thing... maybe I will throw myself into my chores and finally make some real progress on this spring cleaning thing. maybe.
ReplyDeleteI'll play the odds and say it's a calico.
ReplyDeleteElementary, my dear Butterbean.
I'm saying Torbie, just because I've only seen them full grown and would like to see a kitten.
ReplyDeleteanon- a torbie is a tabby/tortie mix.
ReplyDeleteAnne B ... 9 AM,, not PM. Stay focused on your chores, and tomorrow will be here before you know it.
I'm guessing an all-orange little girl, a total Dreamsicle!
ReplyDeleteOf course, no matter what she/he looks like - it will be the cutest - because each IBK is the cutest ever, just like each cat is the most "choose your adjective" when you are looking at/talking to/thinking about.
I always watch over my shoulder when I'm tell one or the other of my cats that they are the best/cutest/smartest...
I voted for calico too, partly by looking at the others but also because my little girl Ginger is a calico and it's been a long time since I remember seeing a calico kitten on IBKC. I agree with Michigoose though, not sure how you determine which is the cutest since every litter I see on IBKC is the cutest EVER!!! But if it is a calico, I guess I can see why you say that Laurie (lol).....
ReplyDeleteI'm going with none of the above - all white.
ReplyDeletePoodle. Definitely a poodle. It makes the most sense.
ReplyDeleteI see some dark hairs from that little picture, guess there is a theme in litters lately.
ReplyDeleteAnna,, you're not seeing hairs.. it's just shadows. The cat is completely masked...every single hair.
ReplyDeleteoh man. if it were pure white!
ReplyDeletethat would be heavenly! but i guessed all orange stripy kitten.
Oh pleezze, another little red boy! I can hardly wait. (hugs & forgiveness if he/she is not red)
ReplyDeleteI want it to be a calico because that's the kind of kitten I want. If it were a calico and my current cat would tolerate any others, I'd drive all the way from Utah to get a couple kitties! Darn that Gato and his hatred of all other creatures!! (He also hates to be cuddled, thus my wanting a cuddly calico.)
ReplyDeleteI think a matching creamsicle girl-how exciting!!!!
ReplyDeleteOoh - Goody....a happy event to look forward to when I get to work tomorrow after class!
ReplyDeleteMy gut tells me calico, but my hope is for a repeat of the other three. With their little red striped jackets and starched white shirt fronts, they'd look like a barbershop quartet!
ReplyDeleteThe cuteness here is almost too much to handle! Squeeeeeee!
ReplyDeleteThey all soo cute...I think the last cute is either black or calico... I will opt for an All black... cats are so mysterious and full of suprises... waiting to fall - Jeanne
ReplyDelete7 a.m. PST.
ReplyDeletethis is pure torture.
I think Standard Poodle. Actually, I just want her to be a standard poodle.
ReplyDeleteI had a dream last night that the mystery kitten was all orange (but I didn't find out girl or boy).
ReplyDeleteSo it's settled! :-)
Can't wait to meet the last one.
Is it kitten time. When is kitten time.
ReplyDelete29 minutes and counting while I can still breathe.
ReplyDeleteHelpful hint kids: all orange cats are always boys.
ReplyDeletedarn, i based my vote off the "darkness" i saw in the pic, but now i read that's just shadows...
ReplyDeleteHow about a calico poodle?
ReplyDeleteJamesie ~ not all orangies are boys, only about 7 in 10 from what I've heard (and seen in the Cattery). So who knows??!!??
Yup, definitely a calico poodle.

ReplyDeletehey Jamsie-
ReplyDeletei think its "Calicos are always girls", that's the only cat rule of thumb that i have heard.
tri-colors are almost always females, or if they are male, they're usually sterile.
ReplyDeleteyup, angie's right about calicos and tri's being mostly girls. i'm not sure about the sterile fact, tho.
ReplyDeletewe had a very handsome and gentle male calico in the cattery last year (siamese mix with calico points). we were uber picky about who he could go home with. he was a gem!
You're doing a great job! I really enjoy your post and all the cute kittens! Keep up the good work.
ReplyDeleteNo one is probably commenting on this post anymore, but I wanted to first say: Hey, did you know that the reason calico males are sterile is because they are XXY? That's right! you are only calico if you have two X chromosomes, with the allele for orange color on one and black on the other. In each cell during development, one X must shut down and become a "barr body", and thus the X that is active donates the color. This happens early in development when there are fewer cells, hence the large patches of orange and black.
ReplyDeleteFrom what I understand, the only difference between calico and tortoiseshell is that calicos have white, from another genetic region altogether.
:-D What I wanted to ask then was, what was the name for Tressa's type? Torbie, because of the tortoiseshell markings with tabby striping?
