Oldie But a Goodie

nicholas and the kitten burrito

For those of you who've been following the IBKC a while, you've seen this picture before. The kitten is Pierre and he's from our very first litter of fosters. That's my friend Nicholas holding Pierre. He's got another kitten stashed in his pocket, I think it might be Vinny.

Pierre is rolled burrito style because it's time for lunch. (his, not ours) When you're bottle-feeding wiggly kittens, it helps to swaddle them first.

Anyway, I just wanted to post this picture because it always makes me smile. And I hope it makes you smile too.

Have a good Friday, everyone. xoxo Laurie

  3. I love this pic, I've been following for a long time but Pierre was before I joined. But it reminds me of wrapping up our little rescues before we fed them ;o) I miss those days, my babies are 2 years old now! Happy Friday everyone and Happy Mother's day to humans and kitty moms alike.

  10. How difficult is it to swadle an ibk? Are they less inclined to wiggle than slightly older ones?

  11. I already had lunch, but I will ALWAYS have room for a purrito!

  12. My bottle babies ALWAYS managed to claw their ways out of the feeding towels. Strong little buggers for being orphans.

  13. agreed! I've been following for a while, but apparently not long enough!

Makes me wonder what my "babies" would do if I tried it with them (since the youngest is just shy of a year old)! =P

  17. Oh, he looks so warm and swaddled and sleepy. Did he fight the confinement or did he put up with it for the sake of getting some formula?

  18. anon and anne f,, they're pretty easy to swaddle. they're wiggly at first, then once they get focused on eating, it usually stops.

if you don't wrap them up, it's kind of hard to hold them. they're so tiny.

  25. Any news on Pierre now he is a grown-up cat?

  26. Anne, My friends' sister adopted Pierre and sister Penny.

I do get a P and P update every now and again. They've grown up to be lovely cats. It sounds like Pierre can be quite the rowdy boy.
