I'm not entirely sure what happened, but last night, we hit 15 squillion, and then went over the top by a good hundred or so. When I logged in this morning,, it had dropped!! There are probably just pledges that haven't fully processed. Who knows.
REGARDLESS I'm still celebrating!! I'm still just as thrilled!!! We're just $75 under the 15K mark with our pledges,, and the beautiful painting we've got up for auction is over $150 now,,, so technically, we are SO there!!
Thank you all so much for making this happen. You folks are truly remarkable. Never in my wildest dreams did I think there would be so many donations for our kitty cause.
It's been so amazing watching all of these pledges roll in from all over the country and all over the world. It's really just INCREDIBLE that so many are willing to support a shelter that isn't even in their own community!
I love this little community so much. It's filled with so many warm and compassionate people. I feel so lucky to have you all as a part of my life. Thank you for being so lovely and giving.
Now please give yourself a pat on the back again. You've helped us reached a major goal. Just look what you've done for the cats and kitties.
So what's next, you ask?
KITTIES!
I'm scrubbing the floors, blankets are in the wash,, sanitizing litter boxes... getting ready for the next batch-o-babes.
Yeah, before I went to bed last night I too checked, it said $15,075.00 Then today, less. Must be a glitch or something. We are there, Great Job!!!!!! Can't wait to see what the eBay goes for!
ReplyDeleteWoo! I'm so happy. And now I can't wait to see the new babies!
ReplyDeleteIt still says 100%.. Maybe we broke the system!
ReplyDeleteWell, all that means is that you have gone OVER the 15K. How amazingly wonderful!!!

I noticed it took a few days before my pledge went through last time. I'm sure everything will work out.
ReplyDeleteI hope we get to see the new kitties soon. It's a pity foster houses are needed and you could get a new litter so soon though. Thank you for everything you do!
Yay! Congrats, Laurie--Lila and I were happy to do our part, however small. She knows how it is to be an itty bitty kitty in the shelter. Good job, everyone!!!!
ReplyDeleteI saw the 15 squillion mark crossed, too - just 3 or 4 hours ago ... maybe it counts backwards again now :-)
ReplyDeleteNo, I'm sure it'll work out. Either way it's an awesome effort - thank you so much for all you do!
Errrm, maybe you could fill the gap with a little bit of backstory on Selma's and Francine's adoption - or did you already write about that and I just missed it?
- Nadine
yay! I see $15 squillion!
ReplyDeleteso, adding it up - i think it's actually at 15,300! WOWZER -
ReplyDeletechristine
Ok, so it was $14,975 online with $15,050 total - I had to make it go to the whole 15 squillion online to be safe!
ReplyDeleteThe first pledge I made, they accepted the money fairly quickly (within 1 or 2 days). The second time, though, the company didn't take the money from my checking account until a week after I made the pledge.
ReplyDeleteThis increase in time might have something to do with the discrepancy on the meter.
Or Anonymous is right, and we broke the system! Charlene is not going to be happy if she finds out that our technology is not squillion-compliant.
Ooh! To raise more money, you ought to auction off the naming rights to the new batch of kittens!
ReplyDeleteThe exact same thing happened to my two pledges too, Darin. Very odd -- but who cares!!! We are there again!!!!! Whoohooo!!
ReplyDeleteBut I do miss those Darlings!!!
oh yay! i cant wait to see the new teeny kittens!!! and congrats on reaching 15 squillion!
ReplyDeleteNo rest for the weary, Laurie: kittens...fundraising... more kittens...but we are so grateful for all you do!
ReplyDeleteSame thing happened to my last two donations as with Darin and Patti - Perhaps we ARE putting pressure on the system :-)
Charlene, all the many babies, and you, Laurie, with this blog have made us ALL members of the community whether we ever in our lives even visit the area in person.
ReplyDeleteYou need a tshirt with a kitty pic and the word Squillion.
ReplyDeleteI LOVE the idea of auctioning off naming rights!!
ReplyDeleteWe all love you, too! Since I can't follow your fostering example right now, I've signed up to be a volunteer at the shelter. My orientation as a "cat cuddler and condo cleaner" is coming up soon.
ReplyDeleteI just hope Maddie will forgive me for smelling like other kitties.
Yay, I see $15,275 Squillion! Congrats to Laurie and the IBKC kittehs for helping. Every little bit adds up to something big!
ReplyDeleteDan,, that's a grand idea... hmmmmmm. i might just have to do that.
ReplyDeleteLaurie,
ReplyDeleteYou should pat yourself on the back, too, because the $15 squillion would never have happened without YOU. You're the one who takes in all the homeless kittens, raises them with so much love, and shares wonderful stories and pictures on this lovely blog. You're the one who brings so many kind and generous people here with your big heart. So, thank you from the bottom of mine.
Oh, yes! That's a great idea, Dan! Past 15 squillion, to infinity and beyond! The IBKC community is just the best!
ReplyDeleteThank heaven for phones with 3G technology... I'll be able to see the new kittehs even while I'm away! Can't wait!!!!
Lisa
1) Squillion is the cutest word ever and even more so cuz Charlene came up with it.
ReplyDelete2) I love all your pictures and the pics of the babies manning the phones were beyond precious.
3) Too bad there isn't 15 squillion for all of the shelters in the world.
4) I always start my day at this site, Daily Coyote and Cute Overload. They all make me smile! So, thank you!!
5) Give all the kitties and Charlene a kissy for me!
P.S. The t-shirt idea with a cat's face and the word Squillion....BRILLIANT!!!
