Whew! We're Exhausted!
And it's not even over yet ! We've still got Dog-A-Thon! For those of you in the Tacoma area, please join us tomorrow (Saturday) for all the festivities at Fort Steilacoom Park from 8:30 AM - 1:00 PM.
There will be weight pulling, herding demonstrations, barbeque, dozens of vendor booths, and of course, the walk for homeless pets.
We're still soaking all that has happened in. We've got lots folks to thank, some totals to announce, and I need to tell you how amazing you are a few more times.
On Monday, I'll get to all that, and post some pics of the event too.
Thank you everyone. I can't even begin to tell you how much I appreciate all you've have done to make this fundraiser such an amazing success.

Please relax and smile this weekend, Laurie! You deserve all good things.
ReplyDeleteI believe I speak for all of us in the virtual community that it was our pleasure.
ReplyDeleteI hope that you see how you have touched us all by all that you, Craig, Sue, and the rest of the IBKC humans do.
You know, we'll probably never meet face-to-face. Very few of us ever will. Nonetheless, we are connected by this common thread of caring for those who cannot care for themselves.
I myself am re-inspired to pick up my local shelter's Needs List and bring it each time I go shopping, just to put something in my cart for them. I may not have a lot of money, but I share what I have, and I know many of my peers in IBKC land are the same way.
I hope you take lots of pics of the walkathon. There are so many of us that will be there in spirit, walking beside you, cheering for everything you have done and will do. Remember that tomorrow, okay?
-darin and her boyfriend Josh, and kitties Daltrey and Jonah (who was a shelter kitten)!
p.s. TWENTY-ONE SQUILLION!!!!!!!
Darin, you said it perfectly! This was a wonderful, joyful experience and I'm proud to have played a very small part. My F5 Key, however, needs a rest. ; )
ReplyDeleteYay!!!
ReplyDeleteNow, I need all of the IBKC fans to help me convince Laurie to let me interview her (even briefly) for our shelter TV show on Saturday. I'll be roaming the grounds before the walk, highlighting pets available for adoption, chatting with visitors and praising the amazing work that Laurie and all of you have done.
Are you in, Laurie? Or will I have to ambush you for a few words? :)
ambush her, ambush her! Do your best ninja skills!!

Just give her the "Drewey look" and she'll have to let you do the interview.
ReplyDeleteWoot! I'm as excited as if I were walking myself. I hope you have wonderful weather for the event.
ReplyDeleteLOL! Look out, the ninja kitties are after you Laurie.
Will the total, include all the auctions etc, can't wait to see how many Squillionsit is. Just hope that you all get over the hangovers in time, for the walk.
ReplyDeleteOh - it's hard work taking over from the Darlings! Luigi & Pippy deserve a rest! And, so do you Laurie! I second Darin's post (uh, third it, I think! lol!)
ReplyDeleteHave fun on the walk!
"cut and paste here" what Darin said.
ReplyDeleteHave fun tomorrow!!! You need one of those animal strollers so you can push the Bean!!!!
P.S. "The Drewey look" -- too funny.
Oh I wish I was going to be out there but it honestly has been a long time since I visited. I really need to and if I had planned better I could have made it a combined visit. Oh well, I guess you will have to do this again next year!
ReplyDeleteAlas, I am leaving for vacation tomorrow, so I am missing DAT this year. I can only imagine how much fun you, Sue and the gang will have, esp if you bring the Bean in a stroller- LOL- if she's anything like my 2, that would not be a success :)
ReplyDeleteHave fun!!
Just pin a copy of the '20 quillion' photo of the 'Bean on the back of your shirt so EVERYONE will be awed by being in the presence to the bean's chief keyboardist and kitten supplier.
ReplyDeleteThanks so much for giving us the chance to enjoy helping in whatever way we could!
1 Question though.....
ReplyDelete"herding demonstrations" ???????
WHO or WHAT are they herding???
Not the kittens from the kitten ward, I hope!!! ]]GRIN[[
After a rest from your amazing work for the homeless pets. Maybe you could tackle the U.S. financial crisis? I'm sure you could do better than what's being done now :)
ReplyDeleteWhat or WHO are those kittens sleeping on???
ReplyDeleteLooks to me as if they are dozing on either ther brother Warren or their brother Dominick.
ReplyDeleteAwwww, who doesn't love sleeping kitties....
