When the new kittens arrived, I contacted Christine, our
naming rights contest winner, and shared with her a picture of "her" kitten.
She promised to give it some good thought and would contact me as soon as she made up her mind. Later that afternoon, emailed me with her selection.
This handsome fluffxedo boy has officially been named Olly Musselman! AND it suits him perfectly!! Thank you Christine!! Nice work!!
Squee!!!! Hello Olly!
ReplyDeleteI can't wait to see pictures of Charlene giving these floofy boys a lickover.
olly, olly oxen-free!
ReplyDeleteOh my goodness!! Hello Olly you cute little guy you!
ReplyDeleteAdorable........that's it! I love a lot of floof....
ReplyDeletehonestly, it's when you see the kitten their eyes TELL you what their name should be.
ReplyDeleteChristine :)
Cats like this should be called Charlie.
ReplyDeleteA very good choice, Christine!
ReplyDeleteOh Olly! You are quite adorable, with your little turned-down whiskers and your white lower lip... which needs little kittie-kisses!
ReplyDeleteAwww, he has a white chin, just like the Butterbean :-D
ReplyDeleteAnd oh yes, if the name was inspired by Ollie from Stan and Ollie, we share the same inspiration, because the first name that came to my mind when I saw this boy was "Obelix" ... due to his chubbyness and, erm, how to put it, he does seem to look just a little bit single-minded - but I bet a) it's just all that floof, and b) he's only acting!
Christine, you are so right! One of my favorite things about the Cattery is naming kitties (both big and small). It's their eyes, absolutely. Isn't it wonderful?!
ReplyDeleteAnd isn't Olly wonderful?!
THUNK....must have Olly!
ReplyDeleteOlly you are just as cute as your brother, in your own special way. Good name choice Christine! Wow these boys are so sturdy looking! What little babes.
ReplyDeleteIt looks like a little milk drip on his chin! Welcome, Ollie! (and no, I'm NOT named after Stan Laurel...but I do occasionally enjoy their comedy!)
ReplyDeleteGood golly, it's OLLY!! Fluffxedo is it, this little guy looks like quite the character, I'd love to cuddle up with him.
ReplyDeleteWhat a handsome little gentleman with his milky chin and white bib and spats!!! Hello, Olly!
ReplyDeleteChristine - Olly's a great name for this little character! It certainly is there in his eyes! Welcome, Olly! How many brothers make up the Musselman men?
ReplyDeleteHe looks so wise. Little Olly Grandpa Musselman
ReplyDeleteSo cute!! He look like Barry White in the first pic.
ReplyDeleteChristine - you got it spot on!
ReplyDeleteThis little Olly-boy has possibly one of the most stubborn little chins I have ever seen on an IBK.
But its stubborn with a major sweet streak!
Olly is such a doll! Look at those baby blues
ReplyDeleteOlly you little handsome fella...looks like the Musselman family is going to be irresistable...
ReplyDeleteGreat job, Christine! It suits him perfectly.
ReplyDeletethud.
ReplyDeleteYes, I keeled over from the cuteness. Luckily my own furry black kitty was on hand to revive me. I can tell that this new batch of itty bitties is going to break a lot of hearts.
I have a little girl who is mostly black with a white belly and her name is Olive. We call her "Ollie" too. So, OBVIOUSLY, I think this name is purrfect!!!!!
ReplyDeleteThese guys do look like little muscle-men!!! Will there be an "Arnold" in the mix????
I see someone behind Olly!!! Wonder who it is...
ReplyDeleteOh Olly! How I covet you with your little splayed feet! Too bad I'm an eastcoaster...
ReplyDeleteAnon, I see TWO somebodies behind him in the first shot!!! Christine, I love the name. You did a spectacular job. I can def see this name aging with him well! (hint hint, future furrever parents!!).
ReplyDeleteWhat I can't believe is that no one has squee-ed over his little white toes!
SQUEE!!
p.s. Laurie, you're plain out spoiling us with the multiple new babies so closely together!!! Keep it up!!!!!!!!
Ha! Thought it said Oily, which seemed to be a bit of a strange thing to name a cat. Olly works better.
ReplyDeleteHe does bear a resemblance to a certain Mr. Hardy...

ReplyDeleteAre they all this floofy? If so, will I be able to take the cute overload?!?!?!?
ReplyDeleteThose are some cute toesies there.
ReplyDeleteI've always lovehe name Olly, it's just a sweet name and purrfect for a kitty!
ReplyDeleteokay, i'm bracing myself, but i think i'm ready for another poopster.
ReplyDelete>..<
LMAO..Barry White..too perfect a name.
ReplyDeleteHugs and headbutts
Oh, now Laurie's just teasing us... give us these two and making us wait for the others.. Guess that she does get a day off like the rest of us... but HURRY!!! :)
ReplyDeleteDoes the Pac. NW have an absurd number of longhairs or are they just saving the cutest cats for you? I've met met at least a couple dozen kittens now, and not a long hair in the lot of them.
ReplyDeleteAww, so far, two kitties with white bibs. I can't wait to see pics of them with Charlene.
ReplyDeleteOh, Olly! I've always loved that name!
ReplyDeleteHi Olly! What a cutie you are! I love, love, love the curly whisker in the first picture. Awww!
ReplyDeleteOoooh, a fluffxedo? Love! Hello Olly, you darling kitty! Tuxedos melt me anyway... what am I saying, all kitties melt me, but tuxedos are still quite special in my eyes. I blame the purring angel tuxedo with the l-o-n-g whiskers that I know... but that's another story. anyway. *snugglies Olly*
ReplyDeleteHi all. I came across this thru a co-worker who has a nephew that volunteers here. I took a look and they really seem to care and take in the old, injured, ugly and view them all as beautiful and valuable. Perhaps if we all could give them a hand....

Tuxfloofle! What a darling boy. Betcha he has toefeathers too.
ReplyDeleteoh! he looks so serious.
ReplyDeletehe must have major important issues on
his mind. so cute!
I don't know - Olly looks a flummoxed about his new moniker in that last photo! ;D
ReplyDeleteSquee!!!! I keep on coming back to these pictures of Olly and I've got to agree with Nadine that he looks like Obelix. An Obelix that's very satisfied to be properly named Olly.
ReplyDeleteNow the first picture reminds me of Gossamer, the sneaker wearing hairy monster from Bugs Bunny! In a good way of course.
