Mindy contacted me shortly after the Fortunatos first arrived. She had recently lost her sweet, 21 year old kitty, Pico, and after some encouraging words from her friend Jorie (who adopted Sue's fosters Tink (aka Lexie) and Sherman), she decided she was ready to bring some kitty love into her life again.
She came over to meet the Fortunatos, to pick a pair, and in the end, she picked three!!
On Saturday, Gaetano, Pippy, and Warren left our nest and moved in with Mindy. She's as happy as can be with her babes. Read (and see) for yourself!
Hi Laurie -- a little scary at first, but it only took an afternoon naptime on the couch w/ new mom...gaetano wormed his way up from my knees to chest when I irresistably gave a little pet. As they awoke I gave each a long pet and that was that! they are so willing to come ask for a pet!
And then bedtime --- ooh la la they're good cuddlers and sleepers. 3:11 was snacktime, but quickly back with booming purrs and all 3 plopped on my chest. I'm one lucky new mom! Returning to sleep was an issue(for me), but, they obliged me by sleeping until I finally woke (late).
I'm supposed to be working! but just stopped to watch them play -- ALL are very self-confident and equal buddies; their playing is hysterical! pip is tiny! but she holds her own. warren surprisingly seems to be the sensitive one, he 'disappeared' last night when I went out to water, I spent more than 1 hr looking for him -- then he reappeared - I have no idea from where! They are such a joy to watch - 3 is good! They sound like a pack of wild horses running down the maple floor hallway (ranch house, one floor, one end to the other -- whomp, whomp).
Seeing these three romp is powerful medicine for the heart! Love is unavoidable!
That's great that three of them got to stay together! They look so happy too. Aww. Congrats to the new Mom!
ReplyDeleteAww..We adopted triplets 9 years ago, wouldn't have split them up for the world.
ReplyDeleteHugs from Houston
Mindy, thanks for the update and photos! It's wonderful to see these three romping and loving life! Congrats!!
ReplyDeleteMindy - Thanks so much for the lovely home for this trio. Endless, two-way love will be yours!
ReplyDeleteI am shocked that you don't appear to have been "biscuited" yet. Gaetano must be waiting for THE moment.
Fortunatos, we hardly knew ye! Glad three went to a loving home.
ReplyDeleteOh how cool, now Gaetano has two siblings bellies to make biscuits on. They look so happy, thank you to their new mom for the updates, keep them coming!
ReplyDeleteSuch a deep heart to go from 1 much loved Senior to 3 Teenage Terrorists! Mindy, you should get an award for taking all three. But I guess they ARE the reward.
ReplyDeleteHow wonderful for you, Mindy! Thanks so much for the update.
ReplyDeleteThat's awesome that her previous love was 21! How amazing! I just lost Max-two weeks before his 18th birthday-and am worried about Pooh being lonely. I've decided on one new sibling, but now maybe I'll be brave enough for two after this post.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the update, Mindy! (May I suggest moving the scratching post away from the table with the breakable object. The kittens looked waaaaaaay to interested for their own good.)
ReplyDeleteI'm sorry to hear about Max and hope Pooh will like his new sibling(s).
Aw, Mindy! So sorry for the loss of your Pico - but so happy that you've got these three Fortunatos! I know you will all be blessed with a whole lotta love (and biscuits!)
ReplyDeleteHow wonderful to hear that three of the little Fortunatos got adopted together and will live a wonderfully happy life with their new mommy! Congrats all around!
ReplyDeleteOh yay! Lots of love in all directions. :)
ReplyDeleteWell, 'course Warren is the sensitive one. I had him pegged as the big bruising teenager that the football coach wants for an offensive tackle on the team. Except Warren would rather play his acoustic guitar and write poetry. He prays for world peace and understanding between people, and hopes for an assignment to sub-Saharan Africa when he joins the Peace Corps next year.
ReplyDeleteThese are only some of the reasons I love Warren. :)
Yay Mindy !
ReplyDeleteYou honor Pico by choosing to open your home to these kittens - the times you will have with them will reflect the love you shared with him.
The kittens are very lucky indeed to have such a wonderful home!
Please update us on their doings from time to time!
Many Many congrats to you and the Fortunato Three! There is nothing like sweet kitten love to help heal a broken heart.
ReplyDeletechristine
you are one lucky lady! i hope you will keep us updated with the occasional 'gowing up' photo.
ReplyDeleteGaetano is my favorite and i cant wait to see how beautiful he turns out!
They look so happy! Yay!
ReplyDeleteThat is so wonderful! So glad that they are together and that their new mom is loving them so much :)
ReplyDeleteOh no! What about Luigi and Dominick??? I'd take them if I weren't in Australia... oh wait. That's how I got suckered into the two I have now! Gosh, I can't wait to move next year so we can foster kittens - our Millie's such a Mama. Bless the Butterbean's little kitten heart. A good mama makes such a difference to the little ones!
ReplyDeleteWow. Three babies at once. How much fun is that! Enjoy them!
ReplyDeleteOh Mindy, this makes me happy weepy! Kiss those babies hello..... and kiss that vase on the table goodbye!
ReplyDeleteEvery best wish to you and your new triplets!
ReplyDelete(Max) and Pooh - after my experience and a number of people I know through the last year have added age matched cats to a house, I'd strongly encourage you get two. Whatever additional trouble it causes is more than made up for by the way that the new cats will each have another cat their age to play with. Everybody wins.
ReplyDeleteAWWW... Yup, they definitely look traumatized - someone call the ASPCA! ;D
ReplyDeleteMindy, congrats on your new feline herd of trouble and purrs! So awesome of you to adopt all three together... now you are family :)
Oh I am SO happy they have found such a loving home together! I know it will be a long and wonderful relationship for all involved. :) And I love the "whomp whomp". It's so true!
ReplyDeleteHow wonderful that they were adopted together! Great pictures too...they have certainly settled into their new home quickly >^..^<

ReplyDeleteGreat news! Love that photo of them snuggled together under the bathroom sink, Mindy.
ReplyDeleteIt's great how they find those special places to settle in for a good nap!
MINDY: Congratulations on your new babies! You will NEVER regret getting all three. Laurie: thanks for sharing that! When I first went and found Evangeline (just a month after losing 19 yo Othello) I wondered if I was being disloyal -- and from the instant I got Ev settled in it was clear to me that Othello had orchestrated my finding her. To this day she does things just like he did - I believe he's whispering in her ear. Lucky Mindy! (LUCKY Fortunatos!)
ReplyDeleteOh - and to Mindy - congratulations! I am very envious of you getting a three pack of kitten, let alone beautiful siblings who have passed through such an able foster home.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations to new mum Mindy! Its great you could take 3 and I know they'll bring a lot more laughter and cuddles with each passing day.
ReplyDeleteOhhh you all are so wonderful! It's a whole big family I've landed in. this foster mom Laurie is the best!
ReplyDeleteThe vase+orchid survive -- the orchids will go to the office! kitty-proofing changes daily...
Breaking News!! Pip makes biscuits too, but Gaetano is the master baker -- sometimes it's a "biscuit train", but mostly just Warren takes, w/ equal bliss! AND, the names stay! but new nick names... Cocoa Bean and Cream Puff!
Yes, Pico lives in these three!
Sorry to see Gaetano and Luigi were split up.
ReplyDeleteOh, but let me add...Mindy, congrats! You won't ever have regrets and your home will never be empty and silent! AND I bet you are going to be surprised how "wild" kittens are after having two elderly cats. I did... but wow...they make you laugh each day!!!
ReplyDeleteWow,adopting three! So good to hear that she is happy with the kitties.
ReplyDeleteMindy, that was wonderful. You summed up perfectly the tumbling joy and love of new kitties!
ReplyDeleteThis post is so beautiful I'm actually tearing up. Mindy and the Frtunatos sound like such a happy new family. Pico left big pawprints to fill, but I'm sure these kids can do it!
ReplyDeleteSo happy that Guy got to stay with his favorite biscuit-buddy Warren! And Cocoa Bean and Cream Puff are absolutely PERFECT nicknames for them!
I was so mistaken...it was Luigi and Dominick that Laurie wanted kept together! Sorry about that folks! Why didn't anyone correct me!!! Egads!
ReplyDeleteMindy, you (and they!) have hit the jackpot!!!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations!!!
P.S. Why stop at 3? There are still 2 more????? ;)
Congratulations, Mindy! The babes look relaxed and content in their new home with you!
ReplyDeleteJust let me add my voice to the others who have said that keeping three of the siblings together just rocks!!
Lisa
I am soooo jealous. What a fun bunch
