FFG, We've got a two adult cat max in our house. It works. I think more than that plus foster kittens would be too much.
It's hard to say goodbye at first, but it's just part of it, and you get used to it. What makes it easier is knowing they are going to amazing families.
All true, all true - but I think the first picture indicates that Miss Butterbean is NOT happy with your title --
I admire you too, AND Charlene; I don't think I could bear to do anything but lie on the floor and cuddle and snorgle and doze. If I come back as a kitten I HOPE!!! I wind up in your house.
Laurie: I think that the pros would outweigh the cons, especially after getting used to the process. I have a two-cat max as well (three if you include my rabbit as a cat, which he does), so I thought that fostering would be a viable -- and helpful!-- alternative.
I have to admit, Arthur is my current favorite. (I have a soft spot for little frosted white kittens.) When I saw the earlier post where Charlene shunned my little guy, I didn't feel quite so warm and fuzzy toward Ms. Butterbean--but here she more than makes up for it! There is nothing, absolutely nothing, more adorable than all these kittens snuggled right up against all her floof.
Lynda, you made me laugh out loud with that "Charlene is single and loves to mingle" statement!
Folks, Charlene may be single, but she's a GOOD girl! These boys are a fraction of her age, and her interest in them is purely nurturing and developmental. She's not robbing the cradle here!
They look so cute together. Don't you want to keep just one more?
ReplyDeleteShe just couldn't resist Arhturs charm!
ReplyDeleteCharlene is an incredibly nice cat!!!!
ReplyDeleteCharlene looks like she could be mom!
ReplyDeleteThis series proves that Arthur's patience paid off! It got repaid in spades and lots of loves from the oh-so sweet Miss Butterbean.
ReplyDeleteAll that floof - no wonder Arthur could not suppress either his blissful expression nor his tongue!

Two most beautiful cats! Charlene is such a good kitty looking after all those babies until they find their new home.
ReplyDeleteThat little hussy Charlene.. She loves 'em, then leaves 'em every time the next good-looking boy kitty comes around. :) Poor little Arthur..

I love how squished up they are!
ReplyDeleteI had the same thought as Cori... are you sure you don't want to add a new member to your household??
ReplyDeleteLaurie, how hard is it to let the kittens go each time? I am debating the idea of fostering, but I am just not sure I am strong enough to do it...

ReplyDeleteOK, I've seen a LOT of kittens in my day. And I've see a lot of happy kittens. But I don't think I've ever seen a kitten quite that happy.

And judging from the look on his face in the fourth photo, it looks like it was very good for Arthur.
ReplyDeleteIt's been said that Charlene is single and loves to mingle. You go, girl!
pic #2 is just priceless!
ReplyDeleteJust like everyone else said... the kitties are too dang cute! I love it when you post pics of Charlene cuddling up with the babes. :)

ReplyDeleteThanks for your site.... I love it!
See, Arthur? Your time has arrived, and it is gooood. Love the last photo, such a natural pair of snugglers.

:) :) :) Floofy cat + floofy kittens = joy
Charlene Butterbean is the loveliest foster mama kitty ever! So much cuddling and snuggle bliss.
ReplyDeleteOh man and he is smitthen! That is the look of love or maybe just relaxation bordering on unconscious. lol
ReplyDelete@Cynthia S.: Hey now, who said good girls can't mingle now and then? :P Floofiness is just a number, right?
ReplyDeleteOh, how lovely! Reminds me of our Toby and his many fosterlings.
ReplyDeleteI can't help but come back to these pics over and over again! Little Arthur just looks SO content and thoroughly snuggled.
ReplyDeleteDoes he always sleep with his mouth slightly open?
-d
Little Arthur is the picture of bliss in pic #2.
ReplyDeleteCan't take credit for Charlene's "single and mingle" remark. I read it on Facebook. That girl is a hoot.
