I love it when cats close their eyes so reverentially and use what my husband calls the "kitty washcloth." Lick-lick on the paw, then swab-swab on the head. Ingenious! And an amazing behavior when baby cats do it. Is this innate, or do they watch their mamas and imitate, or is it some combination?
When we play golf and someone hits a ball into a sand trap (also known as "the kitty litter"), we tease the person by miming the "kitty washcloth".
