Our cats have a similar problem. The Christmas tree has provided a temporary distraction. Too bad that Charlene wasn't distracted for long by the tree.
My little Binky (RIP) played this game with her older sib, Rosie. She especially loved to do it at the food bowl. Must've been a female pecking order thing.

Drewey and Bean are like my Sunny and April. April wants to control everything that Sunny does. She wants every spot that Sunny relaxes in. She won't let Sunny on the bed. Poor Sunny. She was there first! Poor Drewey. Good that she's patient. (Sunny is too).
