In our household, kitties such as Fern and Ridley are referred to as "stealth tabbies." We have two cats, who, at first glance, appear to be your standard-issue tuxies. However, if you look closer (and have the proper lighting), you can see the tabby markings in their coats. Plus, they have the lovely light undercoats, too. And yes, we've been known to riff shamelessly on the old U.S. Forest Service public service announcement (with the wee girl pledging her love to the iconic bear) by saying to them, "I love you 'Mokey!"
P.S. - Other "Anonymous" - Yes (*sigh...*) Francine. And Miss Rhoda, too.
So pretty! Err, handsome! Growing up, we had a litter of tabbies just like these two. And they were born in my bedroom dresser - I was in absolute heaven! Itty bitties 24/7! One of the two that we kept lived a nice long life - and was one of the most gorgeous kitties I remember us having (we always had kitties!). These two will be just as gorgeous! :)
What handsome green eyes he has! It is killing me being introduced to the Lyttletons only one at a time!! I check every day to see who is the next one to be announced. How many are there????
The cuteness factor just increased!!! That little licorice nose, and those eyes, amazing little Ridley:-) Hope you get to meet the Bean pretty soon, BTW save some of your kitten food for her...
Young Master Ridley, you are sneaking into my heart along with sister Fern.
I would love to know the names of your Tuxie sibs. And you will LOVE your auntie who is on the other side of the door, dreaming of bathing you and snacking on your food. ;-)
his eyes say, "i luff you, pleeze to pick me up and hold for long periods of time, i will tolerate" holy cow how many are there?? 4-5-6? i lost count. gorgeous, lovely, future fabulous cats. love them ALL.
Anon,, I suppose technically they would be classified as "black tabbies". Their roots of their black hairs are white though, so they're not truly black.
Were it not for their adorable roly-poly pudginess, I'd say they are classic smoky egyptian maos. They have the same coloring and the gooseberry green eyes.
thunk...a sad-eyed tabby.
ReplyDeleteAnother licorice nose! Hello, little Ridley, and welcome to The Miss Charlene Butterbean Finishing School. You are going to love it!
ReplyDeleteAre Fern and Ridley black tabbies?
ReplyDeleteWhat a serious little man. I'd love to scoop him up and snuggle him something fierce.
ReplyDeleteOh noes! More black leather noses! Perfect for booping.
ReplyDeleteCan't wait to see the rest identified. So far, only one boy among lovely sisters, like the Darlings ("sigh", Francine).
Aww what a lovely little guy...
ReplyDelete{the SQUEE! heard 'round the world}

ReplyDeleteAwwwwwwwwww ... he is just scrumptious!
ReplyDeleteWait, I'm confused. Neither of these have the white whiskers or pronounced white chests from the other day.
ReplyDeleteOhhhh he is just so cute!!! Need a Cuteness overload alert! He is so little and I just want to scoop us this wee kit and cuddle with him.

ReplyDeleteYeah, I'm betting Charlene Butterbean will have quite the crush on young Ridley.
