I JUST got home with a whole bunch of babes! Here's a sneak peek at the first Anderson-Erickson. (if you're from Iowa, you'll understand the meaning behind the last name)
More tomorrow... I've got to get these crusty little kittens cleaned up and settled into their new home.
Okay, I'm in love already. Is this dear little kitten perhaps just a tad (I mean the slightest itty bitty smidge of a tad) crosseyed like someone we all know and love?
Welcome Little Mr./Ms. Anderson-Erickson. Not from Iowa, but licensed to Google.
Hello, sweet baby! We can't wait to meet you and your sibs. Relax! Laurie is going to clean you up and treat you right... and then you get to meet Mama Butterbean! (And I'll ask my friend from Iowa what the name means tomorrow!)
I saw their name and the first thing that came to mind was the Anderson-Erickson Dairy. I grew up in Iowa and was raised eating and drinking their products. Unfortunately, I can't get AE here in Denver. Best yogurt ever!
So based on the other comments, I'm assuming you have a litter of cows at your house. Charlene keeps wishing for sloths and otters and such, but I'm not sure she'd approve of cows.
Laurie, I've been having some of my comments vanish too. I wasn't sure if it was because they were being deleted (and I was too scared to ask) or something else.
And I am from Iowa and I did get the joke. Cute :)
This poor kitty needs a lot of love. He looks like he had a rough time somewhere. He couldn't have asked for a better foster parent.
Will it still 2 weeks until Butterbean gets to see them?
So sweet! I'm with Dragonpearl, this little cutie immediately put me in mind of the Holsteins. What a darling bunch they were, and I'll bet these little cow kitties will be just as adorable.
Oh, what a little love... seems a little unsure of this whole deal, but I know it won't be long before they realize they TOTALLY lucked out when it comes to foster homes and foster families(human and feline).
cuuuute! I immediately thought "Scandinavian" as well, by the names, but I see now that they are moo-cow kitties... I can't wait to see the rest of the bunch! Is the Bean pacing outside their door, just waiting for them to come out and play??
Moooooooo! I'm conflicted. While I'm happy to have kitty pictures to come and make my days brighter, this just tells me that there are probably going to be more kittens in the humane society in the coming weeks that will need love and homes. Soooo precious :3
Oh dear, someone posted about what happened at the Berkeley Humane Society-http://www.berkeleyhumane.org/index.htm, I went to their website, and this is what I found:
Breaking News: In the early morning of May 20, a major fire destroyed a large section of our shelter. We lost our entire cat sheltering area as well as laundry facilities and offices. We are currently without water, electricity and phone service.
We lost 15 of our beautiful cats that were ready for adoption but all the dogs survived and are being cared for in our kennels and at a veterinary emergency service.
Okay, I'm in love already. Is this dear little kitten perhaps just a tad (I mean the slightest itty bitty smidge of a tad) crosseyed like someone we all know and love?

ReplyDeleteOh hai! Being a non-Iowan, would someone care to explain the surname please? Can't wait for the next few days of new photos. :D
ReplyDeleteI'm not sure why,, but not all the comments are showing up. I get notifications, but I don't see them posted here. Argh. I'll try to figure out why.

ReplyDeleteSo based on the other comments, I'm assuming you have a litter of cows at your house. Charlene keeps wishing for sloths and otters and such, but I'm not sure she'd approve of cows.
ReplyDeleteWoo hoo! Cannot wait to find out how many there are (and what the meaning of the last name is). The Bean will be so thrilled :)
ReplyDeleteMoo-Cow kitties! :-)
ReplyDeleteWell, as soon as Miss Char sees all those sweet little things needing grooming and training in etiquette....
Laurie, you give those babies such hugs after their baths and spa treatments, from all of us! They have no idea that they just won the kitten lottery!
That little one does look a little crusty- hope the baths weren't too painful! Too bad you can't let Charlene at them this early....
ReplyDeleteNew kitties!!! How exciting!!!!
ReplyDeleteLook at those big eyes! (And I have a carton of AE milk in the fridge!)
ReplyDeleteAnother riddle. How many, what does the name mean... Bean on Duty!! Yeah!

ReplyDeleteCharlene has probably gotten her stopwatch out, just waitin' her turn for kittens!
Awww, adorable! Hello there little one. Can't wait to get to know you and your siblings.
ReplyDeleteMy Iowa cow-kitty send love and purrs to her West Coast dopplegangers! Love the Anderson-Erickson's Dairy reference!
ReplyDeleteSighting the Anderson-Erickson cow and calf always told us to start looking for Fair parking!!
ReplyDeleteWhat a sweet face on this little one. Can't wait to meet his/her littermates.

ReplyDeleteWoo! Hoo! Yay!
ReplyDeleteCharlene, you have a new class to instruct!
Awwwwwww, Holstein kitties! I grew up in IA, knew immediately what you meant. ^_^
ReplyDeleteOh how utterly gorjuss. Crusty or not, we love him/her already!
ReplyDeleteThis little kitten augurs well for the rest of this new litter!
ReplyDeleteHyphenated kittens? What will they think of next?
ReplyDeleteSweet baby looks just like my magpie cat Nellie did at that age, right down to the part of her mask that looks like a black teardrop!
Can't wait to meet the rest of the litter.
And here i thought they might be Scandimericans like my family. Cute little face!
ReplyDeleteOh, what a little love... seems a little unsure of this whole deal, but I know it won't be long before they realize they TOTALLY lucked out when it comes to foster homes and foster families(human and feline).
ReplyDeleteYay, new kits... bovine to boot.
ReplyDeleteWelcome, dear ones! Make yourselves at home and be sure to eat so you grow big and strong. And just wait until you meet Aunt Charlene!
ReplyDeleteHaving lived in Iowa, and having a cow cat of my own, I love these guys already. I'm looking forward to meeting the rest of the herd.
