Whenever I see one of these family portraits, my first reaction is: How does she (Laurie) do that? Laurie must be the kitten whisperer. I love this litter--so cute and so much personality.
Laurie, you are unequaled in kitten portraiture. What kind of sedative do you use? I mean, on the kittens! :)
This is a gorgeous litter of obviously brand-new, unsullied, pristine and lovely kitten souls. First trip around the karmic circle, I'm certain. So innocent!
Love Charlene's tweets about them. It's certainly a herd!
How, how, how do you wrangle the kittens to sit all together and to sit STILL?? And for 4 pictures, no less?? Mine always want to walk towards the camera as soon as they see it ("Must..have.. shiny.. lens...")
One of mine broke her leg the other day (poor boobo..), laying like Queen Sheba on a blanket in the sun, trying to take a picture and she STILL tries to walk towards me.
Laurie, we are all friends here, so please tell us how many pictures you had to take to get these four wonderful snapshots? I really am curious about the ratio!
G,,, I took 30 total. It shoot with my settings on manual, so the first few are wasted getting the exposure correct. The next few wasted just getting things in focus. Then you get a few good shots,, then they get wiggly,, then it's over.
It's hard to explain "how" I do it. Mostly it's just getting the timing right. They kitten have to be winding down or waking up,, not in the middle of a romp.
I just wanted to say I love the tux's! I work at a vet's office and we had a woman drop off a tuxedo boy, probably 6 months old, with a ruined back leg. He's now upstairs in a room in my house being baby-sat so he doesn't eat his drainage tubes or stitches (poor boy needed an amputation). I am now a Foster-Mommy! I've read this for awhile now and love it. I hope I can raise him right for when he leaves my care (or I keep him). Now to stop him from eating his stitches (he's in a flexible e-collar too
Sweet! :) The only way I was able to tell the 'triplets' apart in my guess was that 1) Ambrose is the floofier of the three and 2) Emory has a matched set of white front paws. If you go back and look at Ferris' post, you'll see his right front paw has less white than the left.
If I couldn't see their feet, I wouldn't be able to tell Emory and Ferris apart yet!
okay, the only explanation to how you do it is that you are the kitten whisperer. you could have your own tv show (and you know you'd have tons of viewers from the ibkc fans!)
oh louise you are so adorable! and so are your brothers and sister :)
ReplyDeleteSo cute!
ReplyDeleteOk, I'm gonna take a guess and say:
ReplyDeletefront row, left to right: Emory, Ambrose, Louise, Bernice.
back row, left to right: Ferris, Clement.
I love how Bernice has one mitten and one debutante-style long glove on her front paws. Beauty queen, indeed! :)
Sweeties! Lovely family portrait.

That's one lovely herd of kittens you wrangled there. Did Miss Charlene aid in the wrangling or did you bribe them with a feather toy?
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely PRECIOUS!!!!!! That just made my whole week!! Thank you for posting the pics!

ReplyDeleteYay Louise!
You've outdone yourself, Laurie - getting six kittens to sit still is one thing, but in TWO ROWS? Astounding!

ReplyDeleteWhat wonderful pictures!
No doubt, Laurie is an expert kitten wrangler, but how do you distinguish between the 3 on the left???? They look like identical triplets!
ReplyDeletetoo stinkin' cute!!
ReplyDeleteOh my goodness, the cuteness! I love their little deer-in-headlights looks.
ReplyDeleteAnd I must echo the previous comments about your truly amazing kitten wrangling abilities!
They are just so precious! How in the world do you get so many kittens to stand in one place for a picture!! It's amazing to me!! I love it though!
ReplyDeleteAnon,, Yep,, you guessed correctly. Nice work.

I like that you grouped them by color pattern. Nice touch.

ReplyDeleteFirst photo hasn't been working since last night, but the others are adorable!
