ReplyDeleteMy great uncle was named "Truman". His brother was "Sam". (Yep, "Uncle Sam".)
Look! It's Truman, and the amazing basket of amazing kittens! Don't blink, they'll outgrow it.
ReplyDeleteIt brings tears to my eyes because you named him Truman. The best friend I will ever have was my former cat, Truman, a fetching grey and white boy who was a Prince Among Cats. He was the kindest, sweetest, most defiant, escape artist I have known. When I was sad, he'd sit in my lap. He had a great sense of humor and on my pillow next to me every night. He had a very expressive face and you always knew what he was thinking. Just like Truman Capote, he had a flair for the dramatic. Three years ago, his 7 month long battle with oral cancer in the mouth ended. He was 11 years old. I still miss him every day. His ashes have a place of honor on my bookshelves in my living room. I have a new cat now that I love dearly, but no other creature will mean as much to me as my sweet Truman.

It was been hard to visit after my cat died in Feb. And then to see Drewey leave (their colors were similar), dang... heartstrings.
