I'm Their Mother, She's My Sister, He's My Brother
Yes, I'm their mother, she's my sister, he's my brother.
Let me explain...you see my little foster children, Nigel and Mimsey Frost, are being adopted by MY parents, which will make them my siblings too. And I guess that makes Charlene their sister, and they are her aunt and uncle. And Craig would be both their father and brother-in-law too.
Did you hear that? MY PARENTS, Dave and Sharon, are adopting Nigel and Mimsey Frost!!!
MY PARENTS!!!
I know you're excited. Well, maybe a few of you are crushed because you wanted them too. But MOST of you are excited because you know this means we'll be keeping close tabs on this adorable pair.
Of course we've got to figure out how we're going to get them to Iowa, where my parents live. We're working out a plan right now.
I know some of you have inquired in the past about adopting kittens from afar. Normally, I keep our kittens local, but because these two people are the reason I am on this planet, I'm willing to bend the rules for them. Just them.
Nigel still has a couple of ounces to gain before can go, but it won't be too much longer. So yes, they're short-timers, but in a way, they're life-timers too.

The kitty whisperer is getting a kitty!
ReplyDeleteHip, hip, hooray!!!!
ReplyDeleteHooray!!!!
ReplyDeleteSQUEEEEEE! They are officially two of the luckiest kitties in the whole world.
ReplyDeleteEEEEEEE!!! i'm so happy!!
ReplyDeleteYay! I'm sure they will have a wonderful life growing up in America's Heartland. (As a former Iowan, I know these things.)
ReplyDeleteAww, this is wonderful! I will be delighted to see updates about them from time to time as they grow. Congratulations to your parents!
ReplyDeleteYaaaaaaaay!!!!
ReplyDeleteThat's awesome news!
(really, how could your parents resist.... it's kind of impossible)
Exciting! Why these particular kittens though? We've been trying to get your parents to adopt pretty much every litter.
ReplyDeleteWell, we've always known your dad is the "Kitten Whisperer". Now we've finally met the kittens who are the "Dave Whisperers".
ReplyDeleteI spent the better part of my childhood wishing for a younger brother or sister. After I was married with kids of my own, my parents got a Bichon puppy who they refer to as my brother. Hooray for white fuzzy brothers! (And for adorable kitty sisters too!)
GreatShe,, there were lots of factors involved. Mostly, the timing is just good.
ReplyDeleteThis is such wonderful news for everyone involved!
ReplyDeleteDooohhhh! Omigosh, this is exciting. Your folks are true cat people, and I am so happy to see a couple of little kitties go their way. Fortunately, the kids are small, so if your folks fly there won't be a problem with weight restrictions or carrier size.
ReplyDeleteThat is wonderful news! They will have a great home, and just maybe we'll get updates on them too!
ReplyDeleteWhoooohoooooo!!!!!! Yea for purrfect timing!!!!
ReplyDeleteI hope they keep the orginal names because they are purrfect! So, when your parents visit you will they be bringing the two fur balls too?
ReplyDeleteI can't wait to see the first photo of Mimsey and Nigel wrapped around your Dad's neck.
ReplyDeleteWhat WONDERFUL news!!! They are going to the best of homes. Can't wait to see pictures as they grow. :)
ReplyDeleteHopefully the Check in staff will be IBKC fans so your parents and the kitties will get their well deserved upgrade
ReplyDeleteHey, I'll finally be near some IBKC grads :O *at Drake University in Des Moines*
ReplyDeleteLucky kitties to get such a great family :)
Since I live in Des Moines and have family in Cedar Rapids please let me know if there is anything I can do to help!
ReplyDeleteKittens you whispered in just the right way and Mom and Dad Whisperer heard you loud and clear. I'm just thrilled!
ReplyDeleteThat is brilliant! I am super happy for you and your mom and dad!!!
ReplyDeleteditto to all the above
ReplyDelete".\_/."
YEAH!!! I love it when kittens get adopted by people we know so we can "keep track" of them. Your parents are in for a treat.
ReplyDeleteAnyone else have "John Jacob Jingleheimer Smith" running through their heads now? Yeah for Mom & Dad and yeah for the Frosts!
ReplyDeleteYay! I'm so happy. Everyone needs kittens. Congrats on the new siblings :-)
ReplyDeleteWhat wonderful news!! Hooray!!
ReplyDeletegive a shout out for someone flying to IOWA from Seatac! someone would be MORE than willing(happy) to carry them on in a carrier. I'm sure of it!
ReplyDeleteOR. Laurie! what a great excuse to go see the parents! fun!
I love the photos of your dad with the kittens, cant wait to see him mug up to Nigel and Mimsey!
I'm with Kodiak and Kenai's mom... I can't wait to see them draped around your Dad's neck!
ReplyDeleteHooray for Nigel and Mimsey!!!
OMG!!! This came out of nowhere. Those sure are some lucky kittens, and your mom and dad are purrfect for them!
ReplyDeleteYou must share their travel story, and any back story on why they adopted these two.
Anna
ROAD TRIP!!! Come on. I-80 in November can only be better with kittens. :-) Hooray for your parents!
ReplyDeleteHow wonderful! And I'm thrilled because I know there will be many, many photos of these two darlings in the future!
ReplyDeleteWoohooo, Laurie!!! The kitten magnet must be mighty powerful to attract kittens all the way from Iowa! And you make exceptions for all the right reasons, I remember how Maddie Bouvier found her forever home!
ReplyDeleteIn your link to all the posts with your parents, the first one on Oct 22, 2007, said maybe they were on there way to being cat people. Well, it took a little over three years, but you were right!
ReplyDeleteIt just don't get no better than this here!
ReplyDeleteHow are you going to get them there ?
ReplyDeleteYay! Lucky kitties indeed! I'm flying my two kitties to Michigan in cargo in 2 weeks and I'm so nervous. I'm going to be miserable until I know that they're home and comfortable.
ReplyDeleteHooray! Your parents seem like such wonderful, kind-hearted people. Nigel and Mimsey are so lucky to be the chosen kittens :)
ReplyDeleteHmmm, I'm thinking when these two beauties leave your house their "left the nest" photos will have to sport asterisks...because they really won't have left after all. Way to go Frostlings!
ReplyDelete"Is this heaven?...no it's Iowa" :-)
ReplyDeleteFANTABULOUS NEWS!!! How very serendipitous for both your parents and the Frosts...hurray! but hee, kittens, quite the adjustment hmmm? ;)
ReplyDeleteCongrats to all involved. Now wouldn't it be weird now Laurie that you'll be on the other end of the internet video calls?
ReplyDeletePerfect! I can't imagine a better home for these two!
ReplyDeleteGreat quote, Cat!
Instead of trying to figure out how to transport the Frosts to Iowa, maybe your parents could just move out here to the Sea-Tac area.
ReplyDeleteahhh that is so amazing!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteYaaaay! :D :D
ReplyDeleteLooks like the seed planted by the Finches has sprouted in the Frosts. :) I thought before that Mimsey reminded me of Walter and/or Ira in appearance just a little, so this is nice to see. Plus that gloriously fluffy boy (did you regret using the name Lambert already?)
ReplyDeleteAnyone else think of Jabberwocky every time they see these kitties' names? "'Twas brillig and the slithy toves / Did gyre and gimble in the wabe / All mimsy were the borogoves / And the mome raths outgrabe." (Apologies for misspellings; I'm going on very old memory here!)
Boy oh boy oh boy!!! First my Giants win the World Series, then Sharon and Dave adopt Nigel and Mimsey. God's in her Heaven and all's right with the world. :)))
ReplyDeleteWow! Guess it was finally the right match between your parents and the itty bitties. :)
ReplyDeleteAwesome all around!
that's wonderful!! I am thrilled for you all!
ReplyDeleteHow wonderful for the little Frost fluffers, you & your parents!!!!
ReplyDeleteyour 2007 post --
ReplyDelete"They are well on their way to becoming "cat people". Maybe my next visit home, I'll bring them a kitten."
And you'll be giving them 2 kittens.
Christine h
WOO HOO!
ReplyDeleteThat's fantastic! Does this mean that we'll get occasional updates/photos too? :)
YAY!
That is great news, lucky parents and lucky kittens ;o).....I have only fostered one kitten so far with the shelter that I volunteer with, but i was able to place him with my son and his girlfriend so I can see him every now and then, it's a win-win for everyone. Looking forward to hearing all about the upcoming adoption and travel to Iowa for these dear little kitties!!
ReplyDeleteYay for Dave and Sharon and Nigel and Mimsey!
ReplyDeleteI assume your parents are well aware of their obligation to the blogosphere to provide pictures at regular intervals? :)
So ... this is you then? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=q0s5Kn9QXtU
ReplyDeleteyipeeeee! The kitten whisperer is getting his very own kitten!!!
ReplyDeleteWOOHOO!
ReplyDeleteSo we may continue to see some Mimsey fuzzy butt action? I approve.
ReplyDeleteHa, oops...I guess it was Nigel's fuzzy butt that we saw. :D
ReplyDeleteGreat Idea!!
ReplyDeleteIowa is a great place for kittens to be raised.
No wonder I love your blog, so much. I was born and raised in SoDak! We grew up as neighbors! I can feel the Midwest Goodness coming through!
Mary Ann
I knew your dad would give in eventually. I knew it.
ReplyDeletefor all you do, like we are even going to comment about the bent rule!!! Just remember, it snows in Iowa and if you let these two out, you might not find them!! Congrats all involved. Maybe you can keep them a little longer, unless there are more babes at the shelter.. unfortunately, I am sure there are.. :-(
ReplyDeleteSo happy to hear that Nigel and Mimsey are adopting Dave and Sharon:)
ReplyDeletePerfect - absolutely perfect!
ReplyDeleteWoo-Hooooo!
ReplyDeleteThe Kitty Wrangler finally wrangled her Pa and Ma into adoptin' a pair of floofilicious fuzzy-bottoms!
Congrats to all y'all for keeping the Frosts in the fambly!
Wow, this is amazing!!! So you *do* get to have them forever and ever after all!! WOOHOO!!!
ReplyDeleteI am SO SO HAPPY!!! your dad the kitten whisperer REALLY needed some kittens!! and these two impossibly floofy (are they the floofiest you've ever had? I think they might be) are so so so adorable. I am thrilled for your mom and dad!!
ReplyDeleteWhat absolutely WONDERFUL noos. We knew they'd succumb sooner or later!!! Tee hee!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations to all beings involved! I remember your dad is quite the kitten charmer, you've reported.
ReplyDeleteI can't think of anything more wonderful than Dave the Kitten Whisperer with Nigel on one shoulder and Mimsey on the other.
ReplyDeleteHeaven on earth!
This is just so awesome. They are getting some awesome parents.
ReplyDeleteWhen is Charlene going to get a little brother or sister?
Yay the Kitten Whisperer aka Papa is going to be getting his very own kitty! Congrats! When my parents had their dog, it was frequently mentioned it was my sister. It is the running joke in our family. They say the dog is my sister and tell them my two cats are their grandkids. Ha!
ReplyDeleteThat is just fabulous news and I'm so excited your family relations have gotten so crazily complicated! Good job mom & dad!!!
ReplyDeleteI was kinda hoping you were gonna keep them but this is the next best thing! Congrats on your new siblings!
ReplyDeleteLucky babies, to get such good parents!
ReplyDeleteLucky parents, to get such sweet kitties!
Lucky US, because we're more likely to get updates on the Frosties!
OMG, this is the happiest ending ever! I still can't believe your parents were able to resist Walter and Ira Finch (sigh!) - but I guess, like you said, the timing just wasn't right until now.
ReplyDeleteSo: woo-hoo! Congrats to all on the newest, tiniest members of the family!
Oh dear! They are so cute!!!!!!!!!!!!
ReplyDeletemost excellent! congratulations on the new siblings!
ReplyDeleteMust keep the floof in the family!
ReplyDeleteHey, I could fly out to Washington, pick up the kitties, and fly with them- on my lap, of course, to Iowa, if you want! Hehe!
ReplyDeleteThat's wonderful! Totally understand making the exception, and I'm all for it! :D Welcome to the family, Mimsey and Nigel!
ReplyDeleteWhat lucky little kittens! Best wishes to the whole tangled lines of family!
