The Barletts do love their toys. All of them. And not one at a time, either - they'll take on the whole basket, spill everything out, and roll around joyously in the bounty. Everyday's like Christmas for our little Barletts.
Toy or basket??? Too many choices! I have come home to find every cat toy in the house spread around and kittens passed out in the middle of the room. :)
The Bartlets are going to be a very well-developed bunch, with so many shapes and textures for intellectual and physical stimulation. Something tells me, though, they have but one thought about the bounty: "TOY!!!"
How sweet! I bet they've never been so happy and carefree before! They're going to make some families very happy. Can't wait until CBB is allowed to greet them.
Happy playful kittens are the best. I love the Bartletts. Hope they don't turn you into a "basketcase" though Laurie. Womp womp! I can't wait to see my 3 munchkins after being away for finals.
So here is the story that I hear in my head when I saw these pictures: First photo - Imogene and Clarence are dividing up the booty. Imogene" I'll take the pipecleaner." Next photo Clarence:"I'll take the blue elephant". Next photo, Georgie wanders by and says, "what're you guys doing?". Clarence, "Nothing". Imogene says, "Go away". Next photo Georgie says "Ohh, I like this, can I have the basket?"
where'a Marcel??? I was hoping for a chance (again) to compare the size difference. Hope he slows on the growth issue so the others are not 'left behind' when he goes to his forever home...
How sweet the Bartlett's are, I have a soft touch for kitties that have a rough start in life, it's like they appreciate every little joy even more! I don't know who's more blessed for Christmas, the kitties or Laurie's household ;o) Thanks for sharing these photo's they are really special.
Awww. I have a question--do you sterilize these between litters? I have trouble figuring out how to wash my kitty toys, especially the soft furry ones, but I don't want my next foster group to get sick...
notemily, at the shelter (another one, not Laurie's) we throw the soft fuzzies in the washer, in a lingerie bag. Every load gets 1 cup bleach added via dispenser. We soak the hard toys in a bleach solution for 15 minutes. That takes care of any worries.
You haven't lived until you have watched a cat turn a laundry basket upside down on himself and proceed to run around the house encased in a laundry basket. It's like watching an perambulatory laundry basket. It was a full ten minutes before I could stop dying laughing long enough to get the basket off of him.
I recognize that green octopus! Who was it (from a past litter) that was pouncing on it, making the kitten room safe for anyone afeared of green sea creatures?
That is such a happy image, them writhing around in a sea of toys. My boy back home likes to roll in dirt and on our driveway. It's like happiness takes a physical form in squiggly kitties.
And just like babies everywhere...the container is the real prize.
ReplyDeleteWhat enterprising younglings! And, of course, even mischief is adorable. Maybe especially mischief. :-D
ReplyDeleteMakes Christmas very merry just looking at the pictures!

ReplyDeleteThey enjoy life so intensely - a great lesson to us of "greater" intellect. HA!

ReplyDeleteAnd so it should be! Yoo're only a kitten ONCE!

ReplyDeleteAny chance this litter can stay together? Anybody out there want an instant family? Just askin'.
ReplyDeleteIf I weren't on the other coast, I'd be applying for these babies.
When I get out my laundry basket to do laundry, my kits always want to hop in. Forget the toys, the basket is the prize. Cute photos of the Bartletts.
ReplyDeleteelaineofshalott, that was the adorable Ira Finch! I immediately thought of that too when I saw the toys. Video here:
