Well, it seems Nigel and Mimsey have a new sibling. But it's an outdoor cat.
Yesterday, my dad decided to venture outside and build a little snowman in the backyard to entertain Mimsey and Nigel. Mom suggested he make a snowcat instead, and so he did.
I do believe he succeeded in entertaining Mimsey. I am entertained as well.
It's official. My dad is on the slippery slope to "crazy cat dude". Maybe next Christmas he'll be sporting one of THESE.
That does it. I officially want to be your sister, so the Frost's can be my siblings too, and your dad can be my dad.
ReplyDeleteThat's so wonderful.
I so love your parents (and you, of course, Laurie!). Can I be adopted too?
ReplyDeleteLOVE IT!!
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely love it!!
ReplyDeleteDoes your dad make house calls? I now want a snowcat too :)
I've got a huge smile on my face at the thought of your dad going out to make a snowcat just to entertain the kittens. Awesome beyond words :) :) :)
Your parents are great! Hey - it's wonderful being a crazy cat person! I think your Dad is really going to like our furry happy little world. Like daughter like father right? ;-)
ReplyDeleteThat is epic. :D

Wait...is that Mimsey or Nigel? I thought Nige was the one with the gray spots. In any case...too stinkin' cute!
ReplyDeleteYayyyyyy Dad!!! Fabulous snow Cat...so glad you are on the way to Crazy Cat Dude territory. It is a fun place to be!
ReplyDeleteAww, a very frosty Frost!
ReplyDeleteSeeing how much your parents love these kitties, well it's easy to see where you got it. You definitely inherited the cat-loving gene. (And I'm so thankful for that!)
ReplyDeleteDid Santa bring them a climbing tree???
How adorable!! Could we try to get him to rub off on my dad???
ReplyDeleteIf we ever needed convincing that Mimsey & Nigel were adopted (or did the adopting..the jury is still out on this) by the best possible people, these photos did the trick!
ReplyDeleteDave and Sharon, welcome to the wonderful world inhabited by those of us happily known as crazy cat people.
Your Dad is absolutely the best!!! Kitties are lucky!!
ReplyDeleteThat's cute. My dad is a big, gruff guy, but when it comes to the cat, he's a big softy. Looks like we have the same type of Daddy.
ReplyDeleteOk, so I thought the first picture was great... and THEN I scrolled down and saw the second picture!!!! Mimsey looking out at that snow cat is just the cutest thing EVER. I really can't even process how cute those two sets of kitty kat ears are...! :)
ReplyDeleteThat second pic is one of the funniest I've ever seen. I think you should submit it to Cute Overload!
ReplyDeleteO.K, the picture of Mimsey looking out the window at snowcat just made my day!
ReplyDeleteI love how their silhouettes are similar. Mimsey is so cute.
ReplyDeleteThat's wonderful! And we can even see where your artistic talent came from.
ReplyDeleteHappy New Year to all.
Awesome SnowCat! What a great idea! Love the photo of Mimsey looking out the window at the SnowCat.
ReplyDeleteThat is fantastic! I love the picture of little Mimsey looking at the snowcat. Your parents are so smitten.
ReplyDeletethat is amazing!
ReplyDeleteChristmas card material!!!
ReplyDeleteAww...how cute! I think Nigel and Mimsey have your Dad wrapped around their tiny pinkies ;)
ReplyDeleteSlippery slope? I think he's already there! And who can blame him with those two cuties running around the house. Of course, he's joining a very elite club of crazy cat lords and ladies, so he should wear that badge with honor. =D
ReplyDeleteokay i LOVE The snow cat AND The photo of Mimsey watching the snow cat (does snow cat have a name?). But PLEASE NOOOO to the SWEATER! :)
ReplyDeleteUs cat ladies and men need to keep up appearances!

I have been following your blog for about a year and it is my favorite site on the interwebs.
ReplyDeleteLaurie, you inspired me to foster, and the day before yesterday I got my first foster cat - a rather crotchety old fellow (I estimate he was at least 12) named Quincy.
He had just been vet checked, but I could tell he was not well, having had two cats who had to be put down before. Very sadly, Quincy died today of a blocked bladder as the rescue group rep and I waited in the vet's waiting room. It was really devastating.
Quincy had lived a really hard life. In the last year he had been on "death row" at a local kill shelter, in quarantine for 6 months, in another cage, and then in a temporary foster situation (just before me) where he became so horribly infested with fleas that he got a skin infection and became anemic. I only wish I would have noticed the mass in his stomach earlier, or rushed him to the vet right then.
I was in touch with the charity and their rep came over to help, but we just didn't get him to the vet in time. I feel awful and today I needed some comfort, so I came here and the Frosts helped. Not to mention world's cutest kitten Curtis Furman.
But I want you to know I will continue to foster, and your pictures have really inspired me to want to.
Please give Miss Bean a special little hug from me because I think she is amazing. I hope my two host kitties, Ernest and Ophelia, will be as welcoming as she is to our future fosters. And I thank you for the comfort your site has brought me today.
Oh Erin I am so very sorry for your loss. Bless you for helping Curtis have a better end-of-life than he would have had otherwise. I am glad to know you will continue to foster. Best wishes to you.
ReplyDeleteErin, my condolences. Don't feel bad about the delay in getting Quincy to the vet. Cats are extremely good at concealing their ill health until the situation is well advanced.
ReplyDeleteAs for Laurie's dad: forget 'slippery slope', he is officially 'crazy cat'!
Erin, we're sorry for your loss. I'm happy to know Quincy's last days on this planet were spent with you - I'm sure he appreciated your compassion and love after such a hard life.
ReplyDeleteI'm so glad you will continue to foster. Thank you for caring so much.
Glad to know the IBKC could offer some comfort.
Hugs to you,,, Laurie, Bean, and Bartletts
Oh Erin...as an owner of a Quincy who had to be put down last year, let me say thank you for having the courage to foster. I don't think I could do it but I greatly admire you and Laurie for doing so.
ReplyDeleteSweet, sweet, sweet!!! ~Mandy
ReplyDeleteOMG, that is the cutest, sweetest, funniest thing EVER! Mimsey and Nigel are SO spoiled! That second picture is absolutely priceless.
ReplyDeleteAnd I'm sorry about Quincy too, Erin. That had to be very heartbreaking; thank you for everything you did for him.
Erin,
ReplyDeleteI wish I had words for you and for how brave you are to keep taking in foster cats after hurting so much over poor Quincy.
Many hugs and much respect.
We LOVE that sno-cat and in our view, anyone would be crazy NOT to like it!
