Beezus Doesn't Live Here Anymore

DSC_0014

I'm sorry to drop this bomb on a Monday morning, but our sweet little Beezus has left our nest! The kittens all got snipped last week, and now they'll be trickling out the door.

I know, I know,,, it seem so soon. They were very healthy, and grew up fast.

I know you all have really enjoyed the Magnificent Medleys and will be sad to say goodbye to them. Don't worry though, kittens are rolling into the shelter, so as soon as they're all gone, we'll have more kittens to love.

So back to Beezus...

Perhaps you remember certain orange boy named Alvie Pettibone. Well, Alvie (who's now goes by Julius) has a new little sister. Her name is Beezus.

Sadly, he lost his big sister last year, and his mama, Kristen, has been watching the IBKC, waiting for that perfect little sister to come along for him. As soon Kristin saw Beezus, she knew she was the perfect one to join their family.

And so she did, and Beezus doesn't live here anymore.

Kristen came by yesterday to pick her up. To prepare her for her send-off, Charlene gave her a REALLY good bath from head to toe. Beezus loves Charlene, so she loved every single moment and purred the whole time.

Hopefully, Alvie will take to her quickly, and will enjoy this lovely new lady-cat in his life. I think they'll make a lovely couple.

Here's the boy when he was a tiny tot.

Alvie Pettibone is available for adoption.

Bye-bye Beezus. We're sad to say goodbye, but so happy you're moving into a home with one of our IBKC alum. I know you're going to get LOTS of love and will be so happy there!

Bye sweet Beezus!

I bet Alvie is going to be so excited when his little sister gets home and smells of Charlene!!! Hooray for a fantastic adoption! When IBKCs go home that has IBKC alumni... that kinda makes my day :)

  13. Hey Guys!

Thanks for all the well wishes! I'm so excited to be in my furrever home. My big brother Julius is not quite sure what to make of me yet, but I'll have him trained in no time. =^..^= My new mommy had some visitors yesterday and we played and played and played. Everyone said I was so rowdy! I was so tired from all that fun that I took several long naps and slept with Mommy on the couch all night... I cried once when she put me to bed in the bathroom...*heehee* She couldn't stand it, so I got to snuggle with her. See, magic! Anyway, there's another snack about to be served. Oh BTW, I'm keeping Beezus as a middle name, but my other names are for my mom's favorite character in Little Women and for her favorite time of year.

    Toodles!

    Keep lovin' those babies!

  15. It's good to hear that Beezus is keeping her name, even if it's a middle name. I'm sure someone commented on Beverly Cleary's Beezus, from 2 of her series of kid's books - Ramona & Henry Huggins. Beezus & Ramona, along with their pal Henry live in the PacNW (I suspect PDX), so it's just right, IMHO, that Beezus the kitten stay there.

It's sad to see them go, but as the pretty recent forever mama of 2 amazing used-to-be fosters I know it's a good thing. Yes, my 2 amazing fosters drive my old alpha nuts, but they make me smile, a lot. When my old alpha crosses the bridge (he's 12), I'll still have these two guys (God willing they don't get some sickness that takes them too early).

  16. Thanks, Patti!

We are having a good time with our little Josie Bee. She romps and chases like an expert, climbs like crazy and naps hard. Her purring is so loud! She also snores the cutest little kitten snores.

Just wanted to thank Laurie and Co. again for such a beautiful little angel. It was so funny to pull up and see Craig taking pictures of Josie in the window just minutes before we met her. Butterbean is gorgeous as ever and I got to meet the adorable and irresistible Linus and his stunning tigress sister Maxine. So cute!!

I love the book. Laurie! You did a beautiful job on it. Thanks for holding it for me.

  17. Her little gnawed off whiskers in the first picture just slay me!

I know she'll have tons of fun and love in her new home.

  18. Awww...we'll miss you, Ms. Josie Beezus, but it sure sounds like you have a wonderful new home. Even if it doesn't include Charlene. (Isn't Charlene just the best kittycat EVER?) You give your new brother heck, okay? It's very important that a new little sibling annoy the older sibling; I know we can trust you to do a great job. :)

  19. First I was sad Miss B had left. Then I read about your adventures and got happy again. Can't wait to see pics of you and your big brother.

And a special shout out to the Bean...you're a great 'big sister'. :)

  20. Tanya Sloan said it for me -

This is always a bittersweet moment, and I am sure that this is a wonderful placement, as usual!

  21. Awww, they grow up so fast.

Sounds like she's found the perfect forever home though, so that makes it a little easier to say goodbye (no, not goodbye, see you later. Goodbye is too hard).

Thank you so much for the updates already, it's so nice to hear that she's settling in and already has her mommy wrapped around her little paw :) And to move in with another IBKC alumni, this couldn't be more perfect.

  22. Ahh, Beezus, I'll miss you. Don't tell the rest, but you were my favorite -- with your little split tortie face, you look like an itty bitty version of my Harley Girl. Have fun with your new brother!

  23. Sob. I was hoping Charlene would adopt her so that "Beezus and the Bean" would become a regular series. It is a consolation that she's been adopted by a first-class IBKC family, but I do hope Julius will warm up to her because I think she still needs some furry love to make up for the loss of Charlene and her siblings. Puh-leez continue to give us updates on this little girl.

    ReplyDelete
  24. Sorry if that was a "downer" comment. I know she's lucky little girl to be adopted into a top-notch family (I imagine Laurie's standards are pretty high so if this is a repeat adopter, you know she's one hell of a cat mom). I'm just sad I won't see her sweet little face anymore. If Julius' and Josie Bee's mommy decides to start a blog on her kitties, please let me know because I *will* be a regular visitor.

  25. Have a great life, adorable little Josie Beezus! The best part is that we don't really have to say goodbye; if your mommy continues to post pictures on the Alumni page, we'll get to see you grow up! Now go bug Julius. ;)

  26. Kristen is SO lucky-- two IBKCs we all love :) Snorgles to both kittycritters. Alvie Julius was a darling and so is Josie B.

  30. Lita and boys- thanks for letting me know. That website doesn't credit the photographers and there's no way to contact them.

The pics are cute, but I think they're stealing them.

I'm going to delete your post with the link because I don't want to drive more traffic their way.

Thanks so much for alerting me.

  31. Martin Hooper, Thank you soooo much!!

  32. Ah, those photos of Josie Bee in her new home made me feel better. Looks like she has a pretty posh set-up with cat trees, lots of toys, a brother cat to train, and a mom already wrapped round her fuzzy little paw. :)

  33. sooo fast!?!? Goodbye little sweetie Beezus..You are going to a lovely home..

  34. Everyone look at the new photos of Josie Bee -- she's already bossing around her big brother. So cute!

  35. Awwww...I was sad at first to hear the news but that is only being selfish... afraid I would not get a chance to see this sweet girl grow up. Having read Josie B's note, and her mom's and remembering how much I adored Alvie/Julius, I am over the moon for her! What a great home - and there's hope of Josie reports to come. Yay! Have a wonderful time with your forever family, sweet girl!

  37. Well it looks like everyone is getting adjusted nicely to their new status quo. Thanks Julius and Josie's Mom for the fantastic job you're doing.
