Our (not so little anymore) Rinny does that all the time! She did it a lot more as a kitten when she was more of a sausage than the roast she is now though.
Laurie you're really bringing out our Midwest vernacular!!! I love it! As a SoDak native, I am very familiar with prairie dogs. Our orange male will do this too.
Kirby is too cute! He's a dead ringer for my ginger cat (Colby Jack McNugget), so I might be a little biased. The short snout (? do cats have snouts?), the white around the eyes and chin, the bold stripes on the tail, it's so much like him! I got Colby when he was over 3 months old, so I missed his itty bitty days.
lol.. My Peanut used to do that too, usually watching her older sister up on the sink getting her drink of water. Probably trying to figure out how to get up there.. I called it the 'meerkat' impression.
Too cute Kirby!
ReplyDeleteI used to have a cat who would do that all the time, and I would call it "prairie dogging" also.
I call it meerkating. Prarie dogging is something totally different in my vocabulary -- and not nearly as cute!!!

ReplyDeleteEven your not-so-good photos are better than most people's great photos :)
ReplyDeleteAdorable moment, glad you were able to catch it :)
super cute, that little belly!
ReplyDelete"Did I hear a can opener?"
ReplyDeleteMy cat, Lewis, does that ALL time. He is a tuxedo cat with an all white belly.... So we call it his penguin dance :)
ReplyDeleteI have never, ever observed a bad photo from you, Laurie! It's darling!
ReplyDeleteYou are adorable, Kirby! (And you too, Freddie!)
ReplyDeleteSo cute! And TOTALLY prairie-dogging. We Iowans know from prairie dogs.

ReplyDeletePurrfect posture too!
ReplyDeleteAwww. Another perfect picture of a wonderful little marmie. Love that Kirby (again!). <3

ReplyDeleteKirby: "If I stand up real tall my sister can't reach my ears."
ReplyDeleteFreddie: "Do I smell ears? Nom, nom, nom!"

ReplyDeleteGutular.
ReplyDeleteThis picture is purrfect the way it is.
ReplyDeleteThat form is called "Did I hear a can of Fancy Freast being opened?"
I am with M, S, B&D - a canoper or pop-top must have sounded!
ReplyDeleteOr a Miss Charlene is playing with a sparkle ball...
So cute and you can see his big feets! (Well, big in proportion to the rest of him, anyway.)
ReplyDeleteGoodness! Whatever was he looking at?
ReplyDelete(I call it 'meerkating.')
All kitty pictures are puuurrrrfect!
