Dining with the Dearborns

These little Dearborns are very enthusiastic eaters.

Take a look (and a listen) at the little piggies at the trough.

  1. Oh my! They are little piggies! Too cute!

I love how Sheldon eats with his eyes closed..he's afraid of the splashing from little miss Pearla beside him :)

  2. Nomnomnomnom! For a minute, I thought there would be an open section for Ms. Charlene, but then Marla took over! ;)

  7. Do those five little kitties actually eat all that food at one meal? No wonder they're growing so big and strong -- they're certainly well fed! And they obviously are happy diners, judging by the grunts of delight!

  8. Well, that certainly explains little Miss Pearla's nose colors! She really digs into it, doesn't she?

  9. They hardly came up for air!

  10. They eat a huge amount of food. Usually between five and six cans a day between the five of them. Usually by now they're eating more crunchies, so eat less wet, but they're not into dry food.

  13. This absolutely made my day. Piggies at the trough is right. And those little grunty, growly noises are hilarious. Now I see how our little Pearla gets her nose so dirty. Thank you for this little view into their lives,

  15. I expected to hear purring, not grunting. I've heard piglets eating, and they definitely do sound like little pigs. Hilarious.

  17. I thought their table manners were rather good...no one had their feets in the dish and I heard no burping ;)

  18. I was thinking how cute Sheldon was as he blissed out on his food. And hoping to see a quick nom from Charlene and that empty spot.

    Little oinky kitties....amazingly sweet!

  20. I really thought you'd dubbed in a soundtrack from piggies eating!! Especially when I heard the grunts! This was fabulously cute. I loved Sheldon's blissed-out moment, too. Thank you for sharing this with us.

  21. Laurie - heh, once I introduced the stray cat I picked up (who has since been adopted, the sweety) to wet food, he started to just ignore the dry until it was obvious he wasn't getting any of the wet :).

The Dearborns are just sweethearts! I am just so glad Phoebe was found. I would have been devastated if she weren't rescued. That'd have been such a tragedy.

  24. I love that Pearla looks like such a dainty little kitten and has such a sweet soprano meow but when it comes to her food, she's the "piggiest" of the litter -- snouting her little muzzlepouch around in her food so she can snarf it down while still relishing in its deliciousness. It amplifies her adorableness times ten! I wondered why she seemed to be so much more "food-stained" than her siblings in the Crybabies post and now I know.
