Strange New World

Because they were so tiny when they moved in, the kittens needed to be in a smaller, cozier space, so the've spent the first two weeks in the bathroom. It worked out well at first, but they started growing bored of the itty-bitty room and we're trying to escape.

So, this weekend I moved the kittens into the guest bedroom. They spent the first few moments tip-toeing tentatively around the room, quietly exploring every single nook. Once they figured out this big, strange space was fine, it turned into a full-on kitten jamboree!

Everyone was SO excited to be in the giant room. They ran from end to end, side to side and in the biggest circles possible. The thrill of it all made their coats poof and turned their tails to bottlebrushes. I tried hard to snap some pics, but they were all just a blur of fur so it was nearly impossible.

Miss Pearla paused for a couple of moments to catch her breath, so I did get a few shots of her all frizzed-out.

It's been two weeks since they arrived, but the quarantine period has been extended. Not all the kittens are done with their diarrhea, and until that passes, Bean can't meet them. Hopefully that will all change soon.

  6. too funny - it always cracks us up when the tiny kittens get scared of something and puff up - like that makes them scarier. MOL

  8. Good grief, that Perla reminds me SO MUCH of my own little Lucy, a sweet baby I fostered last summer and fell head over heels in love with. It's really good that I no longer live in WA, because I have a self-imposed two-cat limit and I would be SO TEMPTED to adopt this little ball of wonderfulness.

  11. I'm so excited for them to get to experience a world larger than the bathroom. Hopefully, their poor little tummies heal quickly, because I bet the Bean would like the company.

  14. It's too bad they're not out of quarantine yet. But since they've been sick, I think you made the right decision. Bean will just have to wait. I'm sure she wouldn't want to get sick either.

    Thanks for the update!
