If you're not, please do...
Well, I knew some of the Dearborns would be departing today, but I never expected ALL of them to be leaving. Our kittens usually trickle out the door, but not this time. I'm kind of in shock about it. And you probably are too.
I guess they were just in a hurry to get out the door to make room for the next batch. They knew we would be auctioning off the naming rights for those kittens, and would need to get started on that soon because we'll be ending the fundraiser in just ten days.
I was thinking it sure would be nice if we cleared $40 squillion today. They would be so proud to know they raised so much during their time with us. Only $689 and we're there. I bet we can do it!!
And when we do,, I'll share with you a little party we had on the telethon set before they started leaving.
Here's a peek at the little gold medal ceremony we had this afternoon.
OH, dear little Dearborns. You're going to be missed. Sigh. Thank you for coming into our lives. I feel so lucky to have known you. xoxo

Oh no, oh no. Tell us their stories - where are they going? Anyone together? Phoebe, come back. Please.
ReplyDeleteWaaaahhhhh
Wow... thanks for your time, kittehs! So happy/sorry to see you leave so quickly!
ReplyDeleteHoly cow, that was fast!
ReplyDeleteBlink. Wait what? All five? At once? Story story story.
ReplyDeleteI miss sheldon already.
ReplyDeleteIt's been a joy to know them - however short the time... I hope they will bring much joy to their new peeps!
ReplyDeleteBittersweet, as always.
ReplyDeleteYou five were marvelous fundraisers... the next litter has a lot to live up to!
Ah, Dearborns, we hardly knew ye. *sniff*
ReplyDeleteSo soon. But it's great to know they've been adopted quickly. I wish them long and happy lives in their new homes.
ReplyDeleteY'know, I say this with every itty bitty family, but this group really had their paws wrapped around my heart. I am BEYOND happy that this little foundlings are off to their new families, but my eyes are leaking all the same. :) Kisses all around!!!
ReplyDeleteMy daughter and I only found you blog a few weeks ago and as the Dearborns were our first batch of itty bitty's that we have followed, I feel a sense of loss. Please tell us where they are going!
ReplyDeleteAdorable portrait! Looking at those sweet faces, it's no surprise to me that they were all adopted so quickly:-)
ReplyDeleteWhat sweet, little innocent faces. I can't believe they are old enough already.
ReplyDeleteOh noes!!! Dear little Dearborns - have wonderful lives! You've certainly enriched mine, "by just your being you!" (thanks Mr. Rogers!)
ReplyDeleteOh gosh, you're going to make me cry!
ReplyDeleteAnd I'm sitting in the middle of an airport!
I so loved getting to know this little family.
Good luck (not so) little ones! Have a fantastic time settling in to your new lives. We'll miss you very much.
Noooooooooooooo! I think this was my favorite batch ever (oh, who am I kidding... I say that every freaking time). Maybe because there was so much more of them because of the fundraiser. I love them and wish them all long, healthy and happy lives in their forever homes.
ReplyDeletelook at how far they've come from the crusty little kittens :-) with poo issues! Love to see them grow big and strong, and into families where they will be loved beyond their wildest dreams!!! Goodbye Dearborns >^..^< !!!
ReplyDeleteOh so soon?? But will the new itties be up to the task right away? Can Kisses come help again in the interim?? Love and happiness to the Dearborns and their lucky new families!!
ReplyDeleteGee, I am going to miss them. Did you have to run a Dearborn lottery to get them placed? I think half the world wanted them!! A good thing for kitties.
ReplyDeleteWait, they didn't even get snipped yet, did they? Isn't that a bit unusual? What gives?
ReplyDeleteAck! Kitties! Come back! We need your stories!
ReplyDeleteWho'll man the phones?!
Big lump in my throat. I had become so fond of ALL of them! I hope you will fill us in as to their new homes - I hope some of them went together - they seemed especially bonded to each other. I am SO going to miss the Dearborns!
ReplyDeleteWah.
Yes, their departure tales will be told. Wasn't so quick, either. They moved in on May 29th, so it was actually a pretty long stay.
ReplyDeleteChangmi, they were snipped.
Congratulations Laurie and Bean for another beautiful litter well-raised, healthy and sent off to their furrever homes happily ever after!
ReplyDeleteOMG already??? Didn't they just arrive?
ReplyDeleteSo beautiful! You would have to get a pair...color complimenting.... :)
ReplyDeleteNonononononononononononono. :(
ReplyDeleteI know it's necessary, but I loved Sheldon and Pearla the mostest.
Whoever is adopting Sheldon had best send a lot of photo updates. His adoring fans demand it. I <3 Sheldon 4ever!
ReplyDeleteIt feels like a short stay but I know they were with us for longer because of how itty bitty they were to begin with.
ReplyDeleteBut but but I wasn't ready still!
Can't wait to hear your stories kitties.
ALL of them??? The same day??? Oh my, I'm glad I was sitting down when I read that. Your house must be feeling SO empty right now! I trust the next litter is available so you can bring them home quick to start the naming rights auctions?
ReplyDeleteSheldon was supposed to come live with ME, though! My Emily is a very cranky and grumpy kitty, and Sheldon seemed like the perfect addition, a young cranky and grumpy kitty to compliment her aging grumpiness and crankiness! Ah well, I know he went someplace completely perfect. The universe has never let one of your kitties down yet, and I can't see it starting with adorable little Sheldon!
It's always sad when kitties depart but I'm nevertheless tickled to see them with their spectacular new necklaces with the enormous golden charms.
ReplyDeleteAlready?? Sigh. They look so grown up in their new collars!
ReplyDeleteWow. I wasn't ready for that, didn't even realize they had been snipped already. Laurie, I hope you and Craig and Bean are doing well. I would think it must be so very hard to say goodbye, even though the universe does send perfect owners. Thank you for sharing the Dearborns with us!
ReplyDeleteWish I had the $$ to give them the going away gift they deserve. They did a great job on the phones and I think we got so used to them being here because they were here so long. They were the purfect litter for the Fundraiser. and I miss them too already and have that leaky eye problem now too. Fair winds and following seas little ones....
ReplyDeleteThe Dearborns were my my first litter to follow, I shall miss their antics & sweetness but I know there will be more precious ones to take their places. Thank you for all you do for the kittehs.
ReplyDeleteThese lovlies were around for so long, I got extra-attached to them! Wonderful that they all found homes - I can't wait to hear where they're going!
ReplyDeleteBye-bye, sweet Dearborns -- I loved every one of you, and it was a joy to get to know you all! I know you are all with your purrfect furever families and are happy as can be, but I'll miss you! :(
ReplyDeleteOh!!! Well I'm not gonna lie, I just sat down and had a good little cry... I just couldn't help it!! I love all the litters, but these babies were just so so special -- starting with their rescue story and the thankfully temporary missing-ness of sweet Phoebe, right on through to their outstanding work on the fundraising set. And was there ever a more lovely/awesome IBKC-er than Geraldine?! No -- except for Marla, Pearla and Phoebe! And sweet Sheldon with the belly made for biscuits! Oh dear(borns) indeed... thanks for sharing the beginning of their journey with us, Laurie!! Now I must go hug the stuffing out of my own furry purry (17.5 years old and still going strong!!) :)
ReplyDeleteOh no! I feel like crying. I've become addicted to this group. I can't believe they are gone! I guess I have to try to keep it together and feel confident they have gone to some lovely forever homes. Man, I loved this Dearborn bunch! I could not get enough of them. Thanks again and I will be donating to the cause again before this fundraiser is over. Oh...and the Bean on the van - that is soooo awesome. She's a gorgeous doll!
ReplyDeleteHeh. They look like little soldiers all trained and prepped for their mission to spread cuteness far and wide!
ReplyDeleteThey were all great, but I'll really miss Pearla and Phoebe :)
Oh, gosh, I'm going to miss Sheldon tremendously. He has the most expressive little cat face ever. It's true, the fundraiser litters are extra-special.
ReplyDeleteO my Dearborns!
ReplyDeleteYou are going away from us, but going on an incredible adventure!
I hope your families take pity on us and send your Aunt Charlene some photographs as you become growed up!
{{sniff}}
Oh gosh, we've passed 40 squillion! I'm up too late working, and I popped in for a kitten break -- and there it was in living color, $40,018.38! This means we'll get to see pics of the kitten party on the set, right? I just hope they're nicer to the set than last year's silly bunch of fluff!
ReplyDeleteOh my goodness, such a shock. Hope they are all going to wonderful homes. Will miss seeing there adventures. Lots of hugs.
ReplyDeleteWoo hoo 40 squillion! Even though we are from Canada these are kitties of the world being helped. Both my Mina and Gus were shelter kitties. But I do have one lament ... who took my Pearla?!?! Waaaahhhh.
ReplyDeleteBut just so you know Laurie ... there is no cat that can surpass the beautiful, incomparable, fabulous, kitten loving BEAN!! Kudos on a job well done!
ReplyDeleteLucky families to be receiving them. I hope some went together. That is always nice for them. Hugs, Deb=^..^=x4
