I'm still working on a mega-post complete with a gushing love note to you, Dog-A-Thon report, and lots of stats.
The way the day is going, I don't think I'll be able to wrap it up before the day is out, so I thought I would share with you a couple of important bits.. our grand total and the raffle winners!
SO, with online donations, off-line donations, art sales and auctions we brought in a whopping
$66,077.25 |

Well done, IBKC community! Look at all that money! Laurie, your energy and efforts must be applauded. I look forward to more posts and more kittens to coo over from afar. This place truly makes me smile, and it's not uncommon for me to call my mom and say, "Did you see the itty bitty kitties today?"
ReplyDeleteHoly Cannoli, CatWoman, that's Stupendous.
ReplyDeleteWOOHOO!!!! That's an amazing total!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations and thank you for all of your hard work throughout the fundraiser.
Thanks to everyone who donated and helped make life better for the kitties.
Laurie you are a ROCK STAR!
ReplyDeleteso happy for you guys, and thanks to everyone who contributed to the total!
Wow, that's an amazing result! Congratulations to you and thanks to the community who donated that much and made all the efforts. I really love this blog, not only for the sweet kitty's that are always present, but also for the people behind it and all the readers. Amazing!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations Laurie! That's amazing--and so are you, Craig, Charlene Butterbean, the Dearbornes and Batsels for raising this much money and for the community you've created here. I love this blog.
ReplyDeleteOh the good 66K will do! Head scritches all around and pats on the backs to all in this remarkable community. Way to go, Laurie! I look forward to the kitten names the winners will reveal.
ReplyDeleteWoohoo! That's so wonderful that so much was raised. And I won a kitty name! :D (I'm Robyn.) I can't wait!
ReplyDelete$66K - WOW! Sparkleballs for all kitties!!!!! Bean Cakes for all adults??? (a girl can dream).
ReplyDeleteAwesome job everyone! I look forward to the names for the next litter.
And don't hurt your kitten luving crafty fingers Laurie but can't wait to read the mega post full report.
66 squillion is an amazing amount of money to raise and a testament to what a great group IBKC'ers are.
ReplyDeleteNone of this would be possible without Laurie and that really goes without saying. I got the occasional peek behind the curtain and the amount of work she did on the fundraiser would stun a team of oxen.
You may "xoxo" us Laurie, but we "xoxo" you more. And I would be remiss for not mentioning the support I am sure Craig gave you through all of this.
Congratulations.
Hooray! IBKC community is so wonderful. Happy to be a part of it but even happier to hear how more and more kitties (and doggies) can be helped. Thank you, Laurie for all that you do and for starting this blog
ReplyDeleteAmazing! I have no other words.
ReplyDeleteThis is so AWESOME -- I go away for five minutes and when I come back the total has grown by leaps and bounds. We really did it. WE REALLY DID IT. 66 squillion -- I think I need to sit down and have a cool drink.
ReplyDeleteThank you for a splendid FUNdraiser -- it was exciting, challenging and nail biting -- count me in for next year's too !!
Oh that is so fantastic! I'm in a coffeeshop reading this & can't 'woot woot' (really, you don't want me to)
ReplyDeleteBut a silent cheer from DC!
Fantabulous!
ReplyDeleteSo many squillions of Meowlah for the kitties who need lovin's and help finding their new forever families.
The way this community so generously supports a Humane Society from so far away.
Also, like a few others, many thanks for the support of the Kitten Snuggler (aka Craig) and Charlene plus her mentees the Dearborns and Batsels
Wow! Strong work. Where is Charlene's picture going after this? She already has a van and a plaque. Maybe on the mailbox. Or the front door. A stern Charlene on the door to the humane society "wipe your feet and smooth your floof."
ReplyDeleteWow, nearly 67 squillion? That's incredible!! So much good is going to come from all those funds. And it was, what, only a little over two years ago when you weren't sure you could raise 5 squillion? Hahahaha!
ReplyDeleteAlso, mega-congratulations to the lucky kitten-naming winners and, of course, the gorgeous Charlene painting by Craig. I know you guys are going to have a wonderful time picking the names, and we're going to be able to enjoy it right along with you. (By the way, Opal would make a great kitten name, wouldn't it? I realize nobody has ever suggested it before. :)
That's FABULOUS, Laurie!! Congratulations on all of your hard work!! You should be so proud!! It looks from the Dog-A-Thon website that you raised fully 1/3 of all money raised! That's a pretty amazing accomplishment. Kudos for all that you do to bring together people from all over for such a worthy cause!! And speaking as one of your readers, we have such fun being a part of it!!
ReplyDeleteWoo hoo!
ReplyDeleteThe kittens have a lot to thank you for, Laurie, Craig, and Charlene Butterbean!
cannot believe it. you know, when i saw you upped it to 50 this year i kind of sucked in a breath and thought that it was going to be miraculous if we all made it to that as it's a tough year for everyone financially. but to come so far above and beyond 50...just jaw-droppingly awesome!
ReplyDeleteOh. my. good. Lord! This is beyond amazing. Like @hidden exposures said, I really thought 50 squillion was going to be tough, but when you present a challenge that might seem unattainable, this wonderful community that has come together via this blog really comes through and I'm proud to be a part of it. Now, I think Laurie and Craig are entitled to a few days of R&R, and Charlene, the Dearborns and the Batsels should each get their own bag of sparkleballs for all their hard work.
ReplyDeleteWoo hoo we did it! 66 plus squillion - who would have thought it. Congratulations to Laurie, Craig and Beanie for all their hard work. And as Sheri said a little R & R is definitely called for. (Well as much as you can get with those little Batsel monkeys around). Proud to be a member of the IBKC community all the way up north in Canada.
ReplyDeleteAnd yes as others have already many times said .. please remember our dear little Opal when naming the next sweet baby girl kitten!
