It Was Meant to Be
A few years ago, a local TV station did a little feature on the IBKC on a magazine program. Every now and again they re-air the clip, which is always great, because it always means more local people finding their way to the blog.
A week or so ago, Kevin and Michael were talking, and Kevin suggested they should get a little kitten friend for their cat, Sweet Pea. Shortly after these words left his mouth, the IBKC clip came on TV.
It was a funny coincidence that this segment should air just then. Michael, who is a firm believer of signs, took this cue and she paid a visit to the IBKC where she promptly fell in love with a certain little Tortie girl.
Kevin emailed me to see if we had any kittens available. At that time Buster and Susannah Rose were spoken for, and I thought Kenneth had found his home too, so I told him Tilda was the only available kitten.
Perfect. She was the one they had their eyes on.
They came down to meet her last week and were completely enchanted the second they met the girl. Tilda loved them instantly, too. She purred, and purred and rolled around happily in their laps. It was so clear she was completely comfortable with them, and she was meant to be theirs.
On Sunday, a very excited Kevin and Michael returned to pick up their little girl. Miss Tortellini was all suited-up in her new collar and tag, and was set to go.
Buster was obsessed with Tilda's new accessories, which made it difficult to take her graduation photos. That's Buster. Always such a curious little boy.
The paperwork was filled out, we said our goodbyes, and off went the little family.
I couldn't be happier for Tilda, Kevin and Michael.
They were meant to be together.

YAY for Tilda! Her new family sounds lovely. :)
ReplyDeleteI hate to say goodbye to Tilda but I'm so happy she'll have tortie loving home. How fetching she looks in yellow.
ReplyDeleteWhat a cute story! Glad she found a great new home =)
ReplyDeleteI can't wait to see Buster's graduation pictures. Him trying to investigate his own neck should be priceless.
ReplyDeleteYou do such a great job at capturing and sharing the departure stories. I get a tear in my eye with each one thinking about how fortunate each new family is to have an IBKC kitty join their household and vice versa. Lovely story for a lovely little girl. Looking forward to the next one!
ReplyDeleteYeah!!! What a great coincidence....and we are Tilda will be a great addition!!

ReplyDeleteBuster: Hey! What's this?
ReplyDeleteTilda: Bussssterrrrr! I'm trying to pose for my graduation picture! Go away!

ReplyDeleteLaura, She has a mom and a dad. Michael is a she. I don't believe they'll be blogging, but if they do, I'll let you know.
ReplyDeleteI just reread the article and realized that, Laurie, and deleted my comment. Ah, the confusion these days over what name belongs to who! Anyway, two daddies, mommy and daddy -- it's all good. And I'm an idiot, obviously, who needs to read more carefully. All I can say is that I was too busy looking at the darling pictures of Tilda! :)
ReplyDeleteThat Buster is a card!! And Tilda is a lucky little girl who's going to bring (is already bringing?) tortie delight to a smart, and I bet, loving couple. Yay!!!
ReplyDeleteSounds like Tilda will be treasured and well loved in her new home. That was a wonderful sign to get...a replay of the IBKC segment!
ReplyDeleteTilda is a stunner and can only get more beautiful in her maturity!
Oooh, Buster...you will get your moment in the spotlight...
Tilda looks so dignified despite the curious Buster. I love that second shot of the three at the bottom.
