Well, we've got some sick babies on our hands.
When they moved in with us on Saturday everything seem fine, but Wee Willard's small size did concern me a bit. He was eating well, so I thought he would catch up with the others in time.
Over the next couple day all of their appetites decreased, and the kittens started dropping weight.
So, I took them into the shelter to see the vet, and they'll be staying there for a couple of days until they turn things around, and start gaining weight again.
I visited them yesterday afternoon, and nothing's really changed yet. Hopefully when I visit today, we'll see some improvements.
I'm anxious to get them home, but for now they're where they need to be.
Please don't worry. They'll be fine.
I look forward to their return and hopefully soon "Wee" will be an ironic nickname for Willard.
I have no kitten pictures to share today, so Marcel is here to make your heart happy.
Oh gosh do I love Marcel. I posted this video to my blog yesterday! We should all smile all the time, because it's worth it.
ReplyDeleteOh, thanks for Marcel. I started to weep when I read about the Trimble tabbies. Marcel headed me off at the pass and saved me from a snotty nose. I will, however, pray for their quick recovery!
ReplyDeleteAwww those poor darlings. Hurry up and get well soon monkeys!
ReplyDeleteSending good thoughts to the wee Trimbles! It's good they're with the vet, but they need to get back to you as soon as possible because they're sure to thrive at your house!
ReplyDeleteOh no! We will be all crossing our fingers to get the Trimbles back, safe and sound, as soon as possible.
ReplyDeleteOh noes! Sending good vibes the Trimble babies' way so they get back to you asap all nice and healthy!
ReplyDeleteSending love and prayers to the Trimbles. Hope they are back with you soon and fit as a fiddle !!
ReplyDeleteAwwww poor babies! Wishing them a very speedy recovery.
ReplyDeleteSending good thoughts for the kittens. Hugs
ReplyDeleteYikes. Get better soon babies.
ReplyDeleteWe miss you and are all cheering for you to get better - there's a whole world of people out here sending you healing thoughts.
Poor babies! I'm sure they're getting top-notch care and will soon be on the mend.
ReplyDeleteHugs and prayers for the little Trimbles! You can do it babies!
ReplyDeleteMarcel is a dear. Healing, positive thoughts for the tiny Trimble tots. We're going through some trying times here as well with Skootch (who refuses to eat). Heal, kitties!!
ReplyDeleteHugs and love to you and the babies. I should probably be embarrassed by the number of times I've watched Marcel (and gone back to watch the first one). But I'm not.
ReplyDeleteOh, no... :( I'm sending good thoughts their way, and hope that this isn't much more than the (from what you've said, pretty common) bout of illness for fosters. I'm sending good thoughts your way as well, since - faith they'll recover soon aside - what caregiver of any stripe wants to see their babies sick? We're with you all.
ReplyDelete:( That's never good news. I'll keep a good thought for a quick turnaround!
ReplyDeleteWhen you said Marcel, I was hoping for an old lost shot of Marcel Bartlett or something. Disappointed me :( But that's okay.
I'm so sorry to hear that the tiny tabbies are ailing. Two people and two kitties (a tabby and a torbie!) on the other side of the country will be sending good thoughts to the Trimbles (and to you, too -- even for an experienced foster-er such as yourself this has to be hard.)
ReplyDeleteHugs & head butts!
I am sending good thoughts to the kittens who are feeling poorly.
ReplyDeleteUh-oh. But thanks for the Marcel pick-me-up. I love Jenny Slate!
ReplyDeleteTwo Maine Coons (Reilly & Sprite) from CT Shleters send purrs to the Trimbles to get well! We need to see more of them!!!
ReplyDeleteHealing thoughts and purrs from me and my girls, Cali, Ming & Ling, and Inca, that the Trimbles will be back to Miss Bean's Finishing School soon.
ReplyDeleteWe will send good thoughts from Texas that the kittens feel better soon.
ReplyDeleteAll the furry peeps and I are sending good thoughts & purrayers to the tiny Trimbles. Get well quick little ones!
ReplyDeleteSo sorry to hear this news. Sending the kitties purrs. And warm thoughts to you.
ReplyDeleteI so hope they are OK (and you and the Bean too). I've had my own experiences with sick and dying kittens and hope that these little ones are just suffering a temporary setback. My thoughts (and those of my little feline menagerie) are with all of you.
ReplyDeleteIf the Finch brothers could bounce back, so can the Trimbles! Go Trimbles go!
ReplyDeleteLaurie, sending love and healthy thoughts for the babes in hospital. And sending you good thoughts too as I am sure you are worried worried worried. All will be well. Lots of people are thinking of these wee ones.
ReplyDeleteThe two Siameses that own me send lots of love and warm purrs their way. Thanks for the Marcel thing, IMMD.
ReplyDeleteGet well soon, little ones!
ReplyDeleteGet well soon Tabby Trimbles! The online IBKC community raises money each year exactly for situations like this so kind, loving and expert vets can help needy animals. Nice work IBKC community. Hope the Trimbles get back to Bean, Laurie and Craig soon!
ReplyDeleteSwift healing and stay healthy thoughts to the little ones.
ReplyDeleteSo THAT's Marcel! I heard about him on NPR. Oh do please keep us posted on the kittens...I've taken too many unhappy trips to the vet in recent years and want to hear one with a happy ending!
ReplyDeleteOh, baby kitties, get better soon! And thanks for sharing Marcel - he's almost as cute as a kitten... almost....
ReplyDeleteGeraldine and Phoebe send get well meows.
ReplyDeleteCOme on little babies, we're all rooting for you! <3
ReplyDeleteLove and healing thoughts for the Teensy Tabby Trimble Trio from a very concerned human, a goofy Golden (yes, I know a d-o-g !!) and a senior floofy, dilute tortie.
ReplyDeleteI adore Marcel the Shell....a great anti-dote to the stresses of ill kitties.
When I read "Marcel is here to make your heart happy" I thought I would see a video of Marcel (né Oliver) Furman - one of the many many kitties Laurie fostered to be a loving beautiful healthy cat. Alumni, please remind Laurie (and us if you don't mind) of what a wonderful foster mom she is with updates of your beautiful kitties! If you haven't checked out the latest on Kenneth Wiggins, please see his and his big brother's blog here: http://merlinthemagicalcat.blogspot.com/
ReplyDeleteAnd Laurie, you make our hearts happy with your heart-warming blog. I can't tell you how many days a visit to IKBC has turned my day around. Thank you for all you do for our feline friends.
ReplyDeleteOh no! I hope they feel better. Sick kitties make me sad. My baby stewie was very sickly as a kitten and was in and out of the vets. I'm glad you have been seeing them
