Bean is getting restless. I was so distracted with work, she didn't get all of her usual play time. I promised her today that we would play a few rounds of "Hide and go Seek", which is one of her favorite games.
I need to do my best to keep her entertained until kittens arrive because when Bean is bored, she is naughty and can get destructive. She jumps up on the dining room table, or she scratches things she shouldn't, like the living room rug.
I hope the next post I post is all about a fresh litter of kittens. Fingers crossed they arrive today.
Until then... more Charlene pics.
Charlene, you are awesome and deserve the undivided attention of not only your mum but the world!
ReplyDeleteAnd you, Laur, are just as amazing :)
Hi! I am just curious why you prefer to have litters with no mamas? Nothing against fostering orphans at all, just curious!
ReplyDelete-Tara
Poor Bean! So patient, so regal...
ReplyDeleteWe find it hard to believe that Charlene would be naughty..... :)
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful Charlene! Hope she gets lots of playtime. :)
ReplyDeleteBut we like Charlene photos.. :)
ReplyDeleteI'm afraid I'm with "Random Felines" -- look at that nose, those eyes, those whiskers. Clearly all indicators of a cat who can Do No Wrong. My own Lilliane shares many of those same qualities, and she....LILLI GET OFF THE COUNTER!!
ReplyDeleteOhh Bean you are so lovely! So what if you get in to a little trouble. Who could scold you? Hoping for new kittens soon.
ReplyDeleteTara - There are numerous reasons. Mostly, it's because we have Charlene. It could be stressful to a mama cat to have another female cat nearby. So, if we were to foster a mama and babies, we would have to keep them completely separate during their stay with us, which of course is less fun.
ReplyDeleteIt works the way we do it now, and I would never want to upset things. I would hate to create a situation where Charlene felt uncomfortable or stressed in her own home, and I wouldn't want a mama cat to experience any stress either.
I refuse to believe that Miss Charlene behaves like anything less than the stunning lady that she is. She really is one of the most beautiful cats I've ever seen.
ReplyDeleteI love that you make time for and consider Charlene's feelings. She's not only beautiful, she's smart and needs stimulation.
ReplyDeleteBTW, I'm pretty sure she's sneering in that first pic?!?!?!
How do you play hide and seek with a cat? Pictures please!
ReplyDeleteCilley - I hide behind something... door, chair, whatever, then call Charlene's name. When she gets close, I jump out, she pretends to be startled and runs off and hides, then I go hide again......
ReplyDeleteSorry, no pictures of that. Or videos.
With the exception of that recent unladylike picture of Miss Bean, she always looks so regal and wise. What I'd like to see is a picture of her having full-on crazy---that tail would be magnificent!
ReplyDeleteTina & The Kittyboyz (who know of crazy)
Oh there you are looking stunning as usual Charlene. :)
ReplyDeleteThanks for asking the question Tara - I wasw wondering the same thing.
I like your hide and seek game Laurie - must try it with one of miine who is a 3-legged chubbster who is far too mellow for his own good.
Despite having 2 scratch posts, my cats scratch the living room rug all the time - how do I stop it??!
Surely that is not the face of a naughty destructive cat... We might need some visual proof...
ReplyDeleteThe always beautiful Charlene naughty and destructive? Say it isn't so!
ReplyDeletesorry to go against the tide, but those first two pics look like she is saying "get me kittens or else... The rug is history... HISTORY I tell you!!!" I know all about bored kitties.... Soon 'Bean, soon...
ReplyDeletesuch beautiful beautiful ice blue eyes....purrrrrrrrrrrrrr
ReplyDeleteLooking at Charlene's beautiful blue eyes reminded me--I don't know if you could tell when Geraldine was younger but her right eye is green and her left eye is brown!
ReplyDeleteIs that a Bean Loaf I see?
ReplyDelete@Waheeda - try a scratcher that lays flat...I read that there are cats who prefer flat scratching surfaces.
ReplyDeleteO Charlene, I imagine you playing hide & seek and I get a HUGE smile!
@Amy W - Geraldine Dearborn? Can you post a picture of her that shows her eyes? I'd love to see that.
ReplyDeleteThanks KatBoxJanitor!
ReplyDeleteOoh I want to see pics of Geraldine too!
We must all be as patient as Charlene. It must be hard being a bored Butterbean!
ReplyDeleteWe have been missing getting acquainted with a new batch of little ones - you are so talented and imaginative with the naming process. We are totally addicted to your blog.
Charlene, naughty?? Say it aint so!?
ReplyDeleteCharlene looks so beautiful. Her eyes are so cute. I like her eyes.
