I'm thrilled to report that things are going REALLY great. In fact, better than I ever expected. Read for yourself...
We've named them Miles and Cordelia and they're settling in quite well. Miles spent Monday under the bed, as we figured he would. But yesterday he started coming out and letting us pet him and today he actually came up to me and started purring when I came in the room. He seems to enjoy laying on us, purring, and then licking our noses.
Cordelia is a spitfire. She plays, eats, and occasionally passes out for a few minutes and then gets up and plays some more. The two of them are getting along just fine and spend a lot of time chasing each other. It's incredibly adorable.
Our older cat, Cleo, is a bit perturbed but seems to be accepting things. We've still got the kittens confined to the guest room, but will probably let them start venturing out into the rest of the house tonight. We'll see how it goes.
Of course we're missing Monroe, but so thrilled the boy is doing so well in his new home with his new little sister!! I'm so proud of our little guy.
Here are a few pictures from our last morning with Monroe ( I mean Miles).
And his new little sister...
Thanks so much for the update, Emily! And thank you once again for adopting this special pair of kittens. We're so happy they're in your home.

Sending love and luck to little Munroe ..erm .. we mean Miles ... and his noo sisfur. We are so happy he has a wonderful forever home. xx
ReplyDeleteSaw this update last night on pitter patter - I'm so happy to hear that they're doing well. It sounds like Monroe-Miles is going to be just fine in his forever home. Yaaay!!
ReplyDeleteYou and Craig and Charlene got the boy off to such a good start! And Sue did the same for Fisher/Cordelia.
ReplyDeleteHappy sigh.......
OK, Miles and Cordelia are giving Pearla and Sheldon a run for the title of Cutest Internet Kitty Couple but I sure hope Cordelia has a happier life than her TV namesake.

yeah miles! I like the 'lying on us and licking our noses' part the best. happy days for miles are ahead!!
ReplyDeleteI love the name Miles, but love Monroe even more. As its no longer taken I'll be using it for my next cat.. x
ReplyDeleteLovely updates for both kitties! Monroe\Miles will blossom, in a man-catly way of course!
ReplyDeleteGlad to see there's another nose-licker cat in the world. My Sebastian is fond of waking me up during the night to pet him... By licking my nose until it's raw.
ReplyDeleteI'm also glad to see these two are doing so well. Kittens know good people when they see them - it's obvious you really have found them a great forever home.
So glad to hear that the wee flooflicious kittens are doing well with each other and loving their humans! Thank you for the update!
ReplyDeleteAw, such a great kitten report! I always feel happy/sad when I see the babies in their going-away collars and tags, but knowing they're thriving in their new home makes it all worthwhile.
ReplyDeleteMiles and Cordelia? Bujold fans I see!
ReplyDeleteSo glad to hear things are going well! Brilliant to let him have a floofy companion to help him overcome his shyness.
ReplyDeleteOh, my, those big serious eyes, and his new sister's lion floof, if I weren't already in love with this pair, I'd fall in love now.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the update! It's good to know that he's coming out of his shell so quickly with his new human staff and having a great time with his sister. I'm sure that their charm will win over Cleo eventually.
I knew he'd blossom. Those floofy tabby boys are all lovers at heart.
ReplyDeleteTwo floofy tabbies! Kitten heaven ...
ReplyDeleteI am so glad to hear that both kittens have found such a wonderful home! It sounds like Miles/Monroe is already getting comfortable, and Cornelia/Fisher seems comfortable anywhere. Thanks for the update!
ReplyDeleteSuch a happy way to start the new year! Way to go, kittens! I am hoping Monroe/Miles's infatuation with Bean will carry over to Cleo. I hope we shall hear more glowing reports [and pictures?!!] in the future.
ReplyDeleteGotta love photo number 3.
ReplyDelete"Hi there, I'm Monroe, I mean Miles, Darned glad to metchya"
Miles and Cordelia as in the characters from Bujold's Vorkosigan books? That's awesome. :D And the kittens are super adorable. So nice to see them so happy together. :)
ReplyDeleteThis is just the *best* news! Thanks so much, Emily, for the update, and for giving this special boy the kind of environment he needs to thrive in.
ReplyDeleteSuch lovely news but I still miss Monroe terribly.
ReplyDeleteOh, my. I know that expression in picture 4 of Monroe! We call that the kitten face and it always means trouble. :-)
ReplyDeleteSuch a cutie! Thanks for sharing! Will definitely back for more of Monroe's adventures!
ReplyDeleteMiles and Cordelia, best names ever!
