As you all probably heard, our little corner of the country got hit with a heap of snow. I just got home from my travels, and fortunately missed all of the mess.
Kami, Opal McGillicuddy's mom, just sent me this adorable picture.
They took Opal out for a brief supervised outing in the snow. She didn't enjoy the cold too much, so after they snapped the picture, she dashed right back into the house and warmed her paws and buns on the heating vent.
SO, yes. I am back. I put a request in for kittens at the shelter, so hopefully we'll be seeing some soon!
Gosh, those calico girls sure are gorgeous! Welcome home!
ReplyDeleteShe's so cute!!!
ReplyDeleteWelcome back Laurie. :)
Whee... look at not-so-little Miss Opal McG!! What a good job she's done growing up :)
ReplyDeleteThanks for the update Laurie and Cami!!!
P.S. Welcome back Laurie... good timing on the travels, huh?!
Welcome back! I hope you had a lovely warm break. Thanks for sharing this picture of lovely little Opal--I can't believe how big she is now. I can understand her not wanting to spend time in the snow when she could be in snuggling in the warmth.
ReplyDeleteHas she lost her mittens?
ReplyDeleteIf only we all had the ability to put in a request for kittens.
ReplyDeleteLovely Opal! Thanks to Kami for sharing her precious Opal.
ReplyDeleteEek! Just realized I misspelled Kami's name in my earlier comments... my apologies -- I was dazzled by the snow and Opal's cuteness!! :)
ReplyDeleteYeah, snow looks like lots of fun from the window, but when your paw-deep in it it loses all it's charm ;)
ReplyDeleteI love watching cats walk in the snow. The first few steps aren't bad, because they're so curious, but then they start shaking the snow off their paws with every step, becoming more and more disgusted with this cold... wet... stuff! It's too adorable.
ReplyDeleteLaurie's home!!!! Yaay :)
ReplyDeleteWelcome back. I hope you had a great trip.
Opal's such a sweetie :)
I assumed you meant Opal the beautiful girl not Opal the beautiful cat. Love the picture, she is growing up fast. (I'm sure Opal the girl is too...)
ReplyDeleteAww, thanks for the alumna post! So glad you're back - can't wait to meet the next litter.
ReplyDeleteGlad you're back! Also glad the Bean is happy to see you. While I was gone for 4 days visiting family over Christmas, my buddy Sarge got really depressed. He missed me lots. I worry what would happen if I'm gone longer.
ReplyDeleteOpal is so pretty against the snow! And obviously she's smart, too, since she knows how to warm up on the register!
ReplyDeleteLooking forward to new kittens!
Lucky you for missing the nasty stuff! Opal seems to wish she'd missed it too..
ReplyDeleteHope you get kittes soon!
We can't wait to see the new interns! Sending PURRS. xx
ReplyDeleteWelcome Home!! Cool new feature, that "Reply" option by each meow. You're so dang clever, Laurie.
ReplyDeleteOpal looks lovely against the backdrop of snow. I still remember the first time we let Willy Nilly out on the screened porch in the snow. He took his tentative steps, ate a few bites of fluffy snow, took a few more steps and then sat down. For three whole seconds. He stayed outside but did *not* sit down again.
