Earlier today a huge flock of Starlings landed in our yard. I would guess there were at least a hundred. They bounced around and pecked at the grass.
We watched them for a spell, then I pulled up the blinds higher so Bean could have a better look, and they all flew away.
That was the most exciting thing that's happened since the kittens moved out.
Bean is getting bored.
Is a bored Bean a naughty Bean? My kitty does not tolerate boredom--she goes out and finds something to keep herself entertained. I'm sure there's a cupboard she hasn't managed to open, or a box she hasn't figured out how to get into...
ReplyDeleteBut she looks oh so gorgeous doing it!
ReplyDeleteSeriously. Poor bored Bean. My cats are naughty when bored, too.
Poor Bean! It's tough to be a kittenless nurturer. Keeping my fingers crossed that some babies show up soon!!!
ReplyDeletePoor Miss Bean. When my Bella cat was little she was bored without her friends from the shelter and would get into LOTS of trouble. That's why we got her Abby. Abby is now the boss, but they have lots of fun wrestling and watching the squirrels outside together.
ReplyDeleteLaurie wasn't Bean's eyes blue at one stage or am I mis-remembering?
ReplyDeleteMartin - They are blue. Sometimes bluer, sometimes less. It all depends on how the light hits them.
ReplyDeleteMs. Bean really has the most gorgeous floof I have ever seen - in part, no doubt, because she is cared for by someone who brushes her and feeds her healthy food. And those eyes! She really is a knock-out (even when bored!)
ReplyDeleteTell her to hold on - kitten season will be here before she knows it and then she won't have ANY peace and quiet....MOL
ReplyDeleteBonnie never liked Victor and gave him heck, but when she died, he was lonely. We brought him a new friend and they keep each other company, playing, fighting, eating, sleeping, grooming... maybe Bean needs a permanent friend?
ReplyDeleteLaurie - Thanks for that! - Was wondereing as they seemed almost white in these pics!
ReplyDeleteEither way Miss Bean is one lovely lovely ladycat - Wish I could meet her!!
Poor little Bean. Maybe you could take her over to Sue's for a playdate! She has four new little ones and I'm sure Rosie and Minner would appreciate the help. :)
ReplyDeleteUmm...Minnie that is....
DeleteOh, dear. Sweet Bean is more than welcome to come visit me & my 5 floofy maniacs in Colorado. Maybe a little skiing, too? Or sledding?
ReplyDeleteShe is so pretty !!!
ReplyDeleteGorgeous girl! Her darling little front paws always make me smile as much as her gorgeous face.
ReplyDeleteShe'll have those paws full soon enough, I'm sure. Please give her a few head kisses from me.
Bean is so beautiful. I hope she has a nice rest between litters so that she recharges her batteries and can be a great tutor to the new babes.
ReplyDeletePoor Bean!!
ReplyDeleteI think there is an itty bitty plot being hatched in her beautiful Bean brain!
ReplyDeleteBean is a gorgeous kitty. I have a kitten I nicknamed Kitty-Bean :)

ReplyDeletePoor Bean. She looks like one of those heroines in a Bronte novel. Looking out over the moors for a sign of Heathcliff, or new kittens.
ReplyDeleteROFL! I love this.
DeleteBeautiful eyes but the stare is a bit glassy eyed from boredom. I admit that while I have thoroughly enjoyed the updates (what about the Batsels??) I so love when you have a litter in-house. Not that I want kittens in the shelter (with or without a momma) but Bean was made to nurture kitty babies into kitty kats. Have a good trip and come back soon.
ReplyDeleteI love the pictures of Bean! Great photos. Compliments from a pet photographer in NJ! I am also a cat rescue volunteer. I am a cat owner. Here's to cats! Regards, Liezl
ReplyDeleteWowzaaaa! That is one beautiful cat! Great pictures! Purrrs Lars and Odin
ReplyDeleteBored and probably missing kitten crunchies. Awe but isn't she just gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteNanette:
ReplyDeleteI think KatBoxJanitor is on to something, most likely involving a guerilla glitter raid. But let's give Bean the benefit of the doubt,
Maybe she is working out the details of a project. How about a Sparkle Ball exercise video?
I know Laurie's said she doesn't want to rock the boat, and I'm pretty sure she'll remove this comment, but I wonder if the rule about wanting to put kittens with company applies to Bean as well, and if she would benefit from having company in the house. Maybe that's why she loves having the kittens around so much - they're company.
ReplyDeleteSee Laurie's FAQ page for the answer.
DeleteThe beautiful Butterbean :)
ReplyDeleteEnjoy the rest... there will be new babies soon enough.
On a completely unrelated topic - how do you keep this place so troll/spam free? I'm always so impressed at how nice everyone is here. You must just give off such a great vibe that no one would dare ruin the mood :)
bean...wish i could play with you.
ReplyDeleteThe second picture literally took my breath away! <3 you Bean!
ReplyDeleteAwww, patience, gorgeous Beanie! Tiny baby kitties are on their way!
ReplyDeleteShe is such a pretty cat. I never get tired of pictures of the Bean!
ReplyDeleteRest up, Beanie: I'm sure you;ll need all your energy for the next class of kittens when they come!
ReplyDeleteThose eyes are amazing!
