I am down in Texas for the week, visiting my brother and family, and doing a little touring about. I'm not planning on doing too much posting while I am away, but I wanted to write a quick post and introduce you to Charlene's Texas kin.
First, we have her kitty cousin, Cupcake. She's a sweet little Tux, and an excellent biscuit maker.
This is Montgomery Charles, AKA "Monty". He's a very big boy. He loves attention and insists you give it to him.
Last of all, we have Hank. He is the most recent addition to the family. He just wandered into their neighborhood one day, and after working with local Basset rescue, they adopted him.
They are a happy critter family. They've all worked out their boundaries, and live in harmony.
Thanks for posting while you are away! I love the Peaceable Kingdom shot at the end.

ReplyDeleteWelcome to the Lone Star State, from all of us Texas critter lovers!
ReplyDeleteI want to kiss Hank and Monty all over their silky soft ears! And Cupcake has some pretty spectacular whiskers. Sweet!
ReplyDeleteSome of my favorite kitties (including two tuxies) came from Texas -- they make good kitties there!
ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful family! We used to live down the street from a lovely Bassett who would wander into my kitchen unannounced. She was such a sweetie!
ReplyDeleteAh, just have to mention... Basset hounds have only one t. Here's the wiki entry (take out the spaces):
ReplyDeleteen.wikipedia.org/ wiki/ Basset_Hound
Reason why I know - my surname is highly similar - but we have *2 t's* - Bassett
Smiles!
Welcome to Texas! I hope you're enjoying the awesome food here. If you're in Austin, know that the animal community here is proud that our animal shelter finally got no-kill status a week or so ago.
ReplyDeleteVery cute, the dogs are beautiful and tux kittys rule x

It's all About Pet Fences
I'm really not a dog person, but as a Texas girl I do have a soft spot hounds: coon, basset, blood, doesn't matter. They're all awesome!
ReplyDeleteAnd I *really* need to boop Cupcake's nose and rub her tummy.
Oh goodness.....what a bunch of cuties! We are very thankful they have rescued all of these babies!
ReplyDeleteI see in the last shot the cat is on top, as it should be. Welcome to our state! If you end up touring anywhere without family guidance and are looking for suggestions of where to eat or have Margaritas or buy a cowboy belt, all us Texan fans would be happy to help.
