Last week, I participated in the Tacoma is for Lovers artist craft sale at Kings Books. It was organized by Jennifer, our friend Opal's mom. (That's Opal the human, not Opal the kitten)
Opal's best friend is Lola, and as you may recall, Lola's family adopted Imogene and Marcel Bartlett. Lola had the idea of having a little fundraiser for the kitties, so the girls, with the help of their moms, set up a little lemonade stand at the craft fair.
This charming and adorable sales team took this task quite seriously and managed to collect a whopping $71.15 for the Humane Society!!!
No surprise, who could say no to these these cuties???!!!
Opal is in the middle, Lola on the right, and their buddy Po is on the left.
It's kind of hard to see in this picture, but their sign read " Lola and Opal Lemonade Stand".
Here are the pictures they drew on the front of the stand - that's Charlene with a couple of kittens!
The whole scene was pretty dang cute!
I'm so proud of Opal and Lola. It's so lovely that they care so much at this very young age and want to raise money to help animals. It warms my heart.
Thank you sweet, special little girls.
What a heartwarming post. Well done girls. xxx
ReplyDeleteWhy is everything suddenly so blurry? (*sniff!*)
ReplyDeleteThose little girls are just angels!
ReplyDeleteThat is beyond sweet and gives me hope for the future :-)
ReplyDeleteKind of makes me choke up, in a good way!
ReplyDeleteThey really captured the personality of Charlene's tail!
ReplyDeleteWhat sweet girls--a testament to parents who are raising great kids, but also a testament to sweet, loving hearts.
ReplyDeleteI'll never forget Opal's five pennies for your annual fundraiser a couple of years ago. And their $71.15 will do a TON of good!
An excellent rendition of Charlene and the cookies and lemonade look delicious!
ReplyDeleteIt's heartwarming to know that they have so much compassion.
Thanks for making my day!
The world needs more little girls (and mom's) like this....YEAH for kids who care (and are darned cute too).
ReplyDeleteCongratulations, girls! I am so proud of you! I'm also very impressed with how much you raised in one day for the humane society.
ReplyDeleteHow sweet! Such precious children, and what wonderful parents they have to raise them to think of fundraising for charity already at this young age. Who could refuse those cuties? And what a fantastic amount they raised!
ReplyDeleteWhat nice little kitty-loving girls. Excellent work, little ladies -- it will do a lot of good for the kitties!
ReplyDeleteWell done young ladies, well done.
ReplyDeleteWell done Opal and Lola >^..^<
