We put her up there, and she loves it. It's kind of a special treat for Bean. She'll stand in front of the closet and look up to let us know she'd like go up top.
Beanie has a Secret Fort!!!! Back East, Sprite's fort is a shlef in the basement near a window (to hunt squirrels and leaves). Love the fact you put her up there!
Usually at least an hour or so. I just check in on her every now and again to see if she's ready to come down and when she is, I stand on a chair, and she climbs down on my shoulder.
Have you thought of creating a way for her to jump up there all by herself? Or do you not want to block half your closet, as my Emily persuaded me to? The closet shelf is her favorite high-up spot, so I have to have furniture appropriately placed so she can get up there on her own; so what if I can't reach half my clothes? :)
Such perfect pictures! I love the naughtiness of Bean in these images--finding a spot that is presumably not intended for a cat. I love seeing this side of her--the mischievous, athletic and funny side of Charlene. She's so perfectly cat-like and so beautiful.
Whoops--the one time I don't read all the comments first I make false assumptions. Thanks for sharing these pictures and the tale of how she gets up top in the closet, Laurie.
Yoo hoo!!!!! We need you! xx
ReplyDeleteTo paraphrase Peter from Ghostbusters 2...
ReplyDeleteBeanie Beanie Beanie, you have been a bad monkey.
(Seriously, how did she get up there?)
And how did she get up there?
ReplyDeleteBean=ninja. Don't let that fluff fool you! She may look dainty, but that's part of the rouse...
ReplyDeleteAnd also, how did she get up there?

ReplyDeleteThat blue make Ms Bean's beautiful eyes even lovlier!
ReplyDeleteMaddie must have learned this trick from Butterbean. I routinely find her at the top of the closet, which is 9' up!

You put her up there? MOL, I was thinking she must have climbed the clothes... Oh, she is not spoiled a bit is she??
ReplyDeleteBeannie - is this the looking high part of "looking high and low for kittens"?
ReplyDeleteI love your hidey hole Miss Butterbean.
ReplyDeleteI am impressed that another kitty has been able to so clearly communicate her needs.
My dear Toes would ask to be put up into the shelving in my hall. Nothing made her happier...((sigh))
But the first time -- how did you know she wanted up there???
ReplyDeleteI don't recall how it all started. Craig probably had something to do with it.
DeleteHow long does Bean get to stay up there and does she get down on her own or does she call you to help her down?

ReplyDeleteThat's just beyond precious. Glad mom and dad are keeping you entertained while you await a new batch of kitty kindergarteners. ;)

DeleteMy wish is that all kitties were as well looked after as Charlene...such a precious little routine.
