I combed through the IBKC archives today to put together a little collection of some of my favorite shots of Charlene interacting with our former fosters.
Awww! We've been tempted to foster (since reading this blog), but we're not sure how our two grownup cats would get along with little ones. (We've got one crotchety old lady with a penchant for snuggling, and one curious/friendly type.) Seeing all these lovely pics of Ms. Bean with the kittens makes me want to find out even more.
Laurie, thanks for working so hard to keep us entertained while you wait for some itty bitties. I bet you never thought fostering would be so much work when you didn't have any kittens in the house! =^..^=
I am completely in love--these photographs are spectacular. How do you get any work done when you have all these beautiful animals around! Thank you so much for sharing.
This is a gorgeous collection. Excellent photos. I particularly like the one with Bean on her back in the background and the little nest of kittens in the foreground. So cute.
I am always amazed at Bean's total acceptance of the kittens. It must be wonderful for them to have a loving Mama figure while they wait for their forever homes.
Thanks for putting these gorgeous pictures together Laurie.
Charlene is such a beauty and what a wonderful purr-sonality to be a good foster mom to so many little tykes. Cats can be so territorial, but Bean always welcomes the babies. She is a very special girl!! Thanks for your wonderful photos and the great work you do on behalf of kitties!
Which one to pick? Everyone sleeping on the bed but Beannie is falling off? Beanie telling Neville - read the paw boy and shush? Or Beanie and Nigel cuddling? What a way to start a Friday!
Thanks for continuing to share with us even without kittens. Perhaps we could get Charlene's early life story?
This is a very special dynamic between Charlene and the kittens. Do you think it's mostly her personality or because she is female that she responds so well to them? I remember reading that she is not and has not been a mother, but I imagine that could create a bond like this too in another situation.
Beanie is so good with those babies! <3
ReplyDeleteAwwwwwwwwwwwwwww......

ReplyDeleteEverything above x a gazzillion!
ReplyDeleteIt really is amazing how good Charlene is with so many babies...and so photogenic too! Such a gorgeous girl! :)
ReplyDeleteOh that made my heart happy. :-)
ReplyDeleteIt's the ones where Charlene has a paw on the itty bitty that crack me up...almost like "That's enough now."
ReplyDeleteThe third from the last just made my heart absolutely melt. The IBKC is my happy place.
ReplyDeleteOh my goodness! The third and the third from the last just kill me.
ReplyDeleteCharlene is such a great mother hen to all the fosters! Bean's Finishing School indeed.
ReplyDeleteShe is so pretty and what a great big sister she has been to all the little ones that have come to play with her.
ReplyDeleteYEAH for Bean - kitten raiser extrodinaire!!
ReplyDeleteI wish I could identify each kitten but I am not that good. Who is the buff one with the "gold medal"? Such a beatiful graduation picture...
ReplyDeleteIt's Buster Wiggings.
Deletethat was my favorite too! Looks like a proud portrait.
DeleteSuch a great den mother!
ReplyDeleteSo sweet. I love me a Bean! All those kittens are so lucky to get a chance to be molded and learn from the best....
ReplyDeleteI think you should refer to kitten batches from now on as "Beanie Babies".... LOL
ReplyDeleteAwww! We've been tempted to foster (since reading this blog), but we're not sure how our two grownup cats would get along with little ones. ReplyDeleteA lot of foster families keep their kittens completely separate from their permanent residents. They don't have to mingle.
DeleteGood to know!
DeleteWhat great photos! I especially like the second one, where La Bean is all 'meh' in response to the kitten floofing in her face!
ReplyDeleteKeep the great photos coming, Laurie, and thanks for all that you do!
She is such a sweetheart, my two would NOT put up with kittens in their home
ReplyDeleteOh!! What a wonderful series!!!
ReplyDeleteLaurie, thanks for working so hard to keep us entertained while you wait for some itty bitties. I bet you never thought fostering would be so much work when you didn't have any kittens in the house! =^..^=

ReplyDeleteSo much adorableness.
ReplyDeleteThe Bean is so special eh?
I nearly laughed out loud at the one with Bean's paw on that cute little creamsicle-colored kitten's mouth. Who is that?
ReplyDeleteIt's one of the Lovejoy boys. I think it was Neville.
DeleteI would love to know who you think was Bean's favorite kitten!
ReplyDeleteThis is a gorgeous collection. Excellent photos. I particularly like the one with Bean on her back in the background and the little nest of kittens in the foreground. So cute.
ReplyDeleteYour Bean is a very VERY special lady. The IBKitties are lucky to have her as their mentor.

ReplyDeleteGah! Pudgy Ira-Finch belly!
ReplyDeleteShe is SO GORGEOUS and what a sweet girl - is she a Ragdoll? Beautiful!!!
ReplyDeleteJust read your FAQ's - I had a Birman . .she was a total love :) (people always confuse Birmans and Ragdolls! Including me!)
DeleteWonderful photos! And such fun to look back at all the adorableness.
ReplyDeleteThe kitten with arched back is adorable.

Charlene's birthday is next week, and i'm planning on doing a post on her early days.
Deleteall these pictures made me feel so calm and happy....(i was having a bad day)...
ReplyDeleteIt seems to me that Miss Bean is with the perfect family as she is the most perfect Auntie Bean to all those completely ADORABLE babies!
ReplyDeleteBean and Buster w/the pumpkins is my favorite, I think. He looks so proud to be there. She's such a good kitten mom. :)
ReplyDeleteAaahhh... there are no words to express the wonderfulness of these pictures!
