The Cats Protection van passed me today. Maybe the lady who drove it had kittens. Ah but wait, that was in Wales. You wouldn't like to visit over this side of the Big Pond would you Beanie?
Be careful is right. You could get a litter of six Oliver Furmans. Great for us out in internet land but somewhat challenging for Charlene, Laurie and Craig. :-)
This is good. As much as we love those little ones, this is good. Isn't it our goal to no longer need foster homes for kitties who haven't found their forever home yet?
Oh, and btw. Anonymous, it's not Hubie, it's Norman on the other end of the phone, wondering why there haven't been any updates about Him yet! :) It has been 3 years! since we've seen that big sweet ball of fluff... I hope he's okay...
Poor bored little Bean. I am thrilled that the shelter doesn't have any kittens in need of homes right now, but at the same time, I need my kitten fix!
Don't worry! They're coming! Kitten in my Pocket dot blogspot dot com (former foster mama of Kisses the Kitten) just got one mom with five little squee's.
While I too am happy the kittens seem to have homes and I too am suffering from Kitten Withdrawal...Miss Charlene's Finishing School only accepts elementary students. But a sweet kitten or two would be nice.....one that does not wake me up at 5am yowling like only Maine Coons can...
as hard as it can be not having kittens, isn't there just a small part of you is glad that there isn't an abundance of them right now?? I know I always have to temper my kitten fever with the positive news that there aren't any kittens waiting for homes and at risk..
Patience is soooo not one of my virtues. Kittens have begun to appear in Texas (we had a very mild winter) and while we never wish for homeless mamaless kittens, I am so missing the "itty bitty" part of IBKC. In the meantime, Ms Bean would you place a call and see how those Batsels are doing in their homes? IBKC alumni updates will have to carry us through this "itty bitty"less time.
Yes, I've said it countless times before, it's a good thing when there are no kittens in need of fostering.
But we all know they will be coming. I prefer they trickle in sooner, rather than flood in later. A trickle is easier to manage.
As far as fostering adult cats, we plan to stick with kittens. We've found a system that works for our home and our lifestyle.
And honestly, a little break from fostering does us a lot of good. If we didn't have this pocket of quiet, I don't know that we would have the stamina to make through the season.
That's one of the most adorable photos ever--and the standard of adorability on this blog is super high. I'm glad there are no kitties who need your loving care at this time and hope that you and Bean are enjoying your rest.
Off topic--I got my Bean magnet and love it--it's great to see her beautiful face every time I go to the fridge.
Oh Charlene, you're too pretty! I'm sure there will be kittens and their kitten food to steal before you can lick your ear. Tis the season after all. Though it would be nice if you were out of a job, I doubt it will happen soon..
We can't wait either! Purrs. xx
ReplyDeleteMan do we need some kittens!
ReplyDeleteIt's such good news when there aren't tons of kittens in need of homes... but still!!
ReplyDeleteDoes your shelter foster out big cats, too (sick, shy, or otherwise)? If so would you ever do that?
The Tacoma HS does foster out adult kitties but I'm pretty sure Charlene likes being the only big kitty around.

ReplyDeleteCharlene is such a cutie, I hope you get more kittens soon!
ReplyDeleteAnyone called yet? Maybe they're all on their computers...
ReplyDeleteYou are such a beautiful girl. Love the photos.
ReplyDeleteI love kittens but I'm happy that they are rare right now.
ReplyDeleteMaybe everyone in Tacoma is responsibly spaying or neutering their cats, and there will be no more kittens. Oh noes!
ReplyDeleteBe careful what you ask for... LoL

ReplyDeleteHubie is on the other end of that phone line.

ReplyDeleteRegistration for Miss Bean's Finishing School is open now!
ReplyDeleteWe have seen some popping up on foster blogs - we know they are out there Bean....
ReplyDeleteWishin' and hopin' -- we all are right there with you Ms.Bean -- they're coming !! I just know it.
ReplyDeleteNo kittens is good news! What about fostering a slightly older cat who would otherwise be at the shelter while you wait?

ReplyDeleteIt is, really , a fine thing to know there are no abandoned kittens out there...yes?

Miss Charlene, You look so purrfessional as you wait for THE call!
ReplyDeleteRest up, once they itty bitty ones start arriving you will be busy
I'm so torn...on the one hand I'm happy there are no kittens. On the other hand, I want to see itty bitties hanging out with the Bean. So torn...

ReplyDeleteI am sort of glad Charlene doesn't have kitties to foster.
ReplyDeleteI have been getting my kittie-fix on with Robyn at 111.love-and-hisses.com . She has 5 day old babies and their mommy to foster. So Stinking CUTE!
That is a gorgeous old phone!
