Good morning! I arrived back in Tacoma in the wee hours of the morning after a fabulous visit with Nigel, Mimsey, and my folks.
It really was fun seeing the Frosts again. They are absolutely lovely cats, and they are so loved and enjoyed by my parents. Of course my parents are equally lovely and enjoyable so the cats adore them as well. They are all quite happy together. : )
I've got a few more Frost pictures to share from our visit, and we'll start off with a set of this beautiful girl in a basket. The rest of the sets will be posted today too.
Just yesterday, our new batch of babies arrived at the Humane Society. As soon as the shelter opens this morning, I'll be heading over to pick up our tiny fundraising crew and bring them home.
I'm quite excited to meet them, they sound ADORABLE! I had put in a request for a dream team, and it sounds like we got it!!
I'll let them settle in and hopefully by the end of the day, they'll be taking their very first shift on the telethon phones.
Bright and early tomorrow morning the fun will begin, you'll meet the new kittens, the 2012 kitten-sized telethon set will be revealed, and we'll be kick off our big, annual fundraiser. I can hardly wait to get this party started!!
Last of all, I just wanted to say 'thanks' for all the sweet words you said on THIS post yesterday. You folks are lovely, and you say the nicest things. I appreciate your kindness so much.
Stay tuned... more Nigel and Mimsey coming your way today!
Any chance I can get a beautiful gift basket like this one? What a wonderful life "our" Frosts have with your parents! I suspect Nigel & Mimsey rule the roost (as they should). Thanks to you and your parents for sharing these special ones.
ReplyDeleteWhy do cats like laundry baskets so much? Our Jack puts himself in "kitty jail" all of the time! :-)
ReplyDeleteMimsey makes a humble laundry basket look like a grand royal throne fit for a queen (of which she is of course). Can't wait for the itty bitty telethon kitties!!!! Welcome home, Laurie.
ReplyDeleteYes, I love that someone said in another post that the Frosts look like they have become "Lord and Lady of the Manor." So true!
DeleteSuch a lovely basket of kitten! Can't wait for the new babies and the telethon! Are you still taking items to auction off?
ReplyDeleteAnd anyone who commented that Nigel or Mimsey were fat needs to know 2 things: 1. These are loved cats and 2.only their vet can say if they are overweight. Nigel looks to have some Maine Coon in him which accounts for the bone structure and coat. Or even some Norwegian Forest Cat. And they live in a COLD climate, so some padding is necessary. Me? I am thankful they are loved and shared with us. THANKS!
what a regal kitty! love love love her!
ReplyDeleteThe funniest laundry basket cat I've ever seen was my Pumpkin who managed to turn a laundry basket over on himself. Watching an upside-down laundry basket roam the apartment in confusion was hilarious.
ReplyDeleteCan't wait to see the new batch of babies. They've got a tall order to top the Dearborns, though. Still one of my favorite litters.
That sounds just hilarious and adorable all at the same time. Poor Pumpkin :D
DeleteShe is such a beauty, but I find it strange...a kitty in a laundry basket without clean, warm, freshly folded laundry in it. I wish mine would take to sitting in it when it was empty.
ReplyDeleteMimsey has such beautiful gold eyes and the cutest pink nose! I like the way she's using the basket to support her chin in the bottom two photos, as well as the way she has oh-so-casually put her front paw through the slats.
ReplyDeleteI'm glad you had a good trip and the Frosts are doing so well. Of course it was always a given considering your parents, but it's great to see pictures too. I hope you had time to visit the Davenport Farmer's Market (I was very impressed with it myself). It's nice to be home though and I look forward to seeing pictures of the new batch of kittens.
ReplyDeleteAck, those round eyes in that round furry face KILLS me with the cute! Mimsey, if I lived in Iowa I would have to constantly fight my urges to catnap you and Nigel from Laurie's parents.
ReplyDeleteGlad you had a nice visit with the folks and your "siblings"! Love this blog! Thanks for all you do!

After the grooming session from the previous post, this laundry basket is definitely full of the freshly cleaned whites.
ReplyDeleteSweet kitties, beautiful photos...IBKC is the best place on the Web ;o)
ReplyDeleteYay! FUNdraiser time soon! Mimsey is such a pretty girl. That tabby eye patch is just so striking.
ReplyDeleteCan I hug her? She looks so soft and lovable.
ReplyDeleteShe is stunning! I can't get over how beautiful the Frost's coats are...I suppose if had kept my grey/white kitty Moppet as indoor only, her white parts would sparkle and shine like Mimsey's...but alas, she loves the outdoors and rolling around in the dirt especially! So her beautiful white patches can get a bit dingy.
ReplyDeleteThere must be some strange magnetism in laundry baskets, every basket (or hamper) I've ever had has attracted cats! The black rim around one of Mimsey's eyes makes her look very serious but I bet she's up for a game of "grab the finger through the sides of the laundry basket" any time.
ReplyDeleteOMG! So beautiful pictures!
ReplyDeleteThe work you do fostering kitties is so precious. I couldn't do it, I would want to keep each and every one!
ReplyDeleteI really enjoy visiting to see the new posts and pictures. I love this site and watching each batch of babies get the loving Butterbean treatment. When I'm sad or a little bit down, I can come here and look at the gallery of adopted babies and it never fails to bring a smile.
Me too LOVE to sit in the laundry basket :)
ReplyDeleteMimsey is one beautiful kitty! (& Obviously HAPPY!!!)
ReplyDeleteSo glad you had a good time with your parents, Laurie! And, can't wait to see the new litter - I hope they're up to the fund-raising! They have big sh--paws to fill!
I'm so excited for new kitties and the fundraiser!! Hope Bean is ready :)
ReplyDeleteMimsey is the perfect picture of regal in that basket -- such a lovely girl, and fortunately, she knows it! :)
ReplyDeleteAnd I cannot wait to see the new fundraising team! Oh boy, kitties!
Mimsey has always been one of my favorites. She looks at you with such love. What a beauty!
ReplyDeleteHer coat is so lovely. You can really see how plush it is sticking out between the laundry basket squares.
ReplyDeleteI can't wait for the fundraiser to begin. I always wonder what the IRS thinks when all my charitable contributions are in my home state - except for one!
I love how it looks like Mimsey got interrupted putting her eyeliner on and only got 1 eye done.
