Goodbye Gibsons Pt 2
Mikala and family were sent our way by one of my friends from the Seattle art community.
I always love it when friends send people our way. Our friends know how important finding wonderful families for our kittens is to us, so they only send the best people our way. Mikala and family were no exception.
Mikala's son, Simon, just celebrated a birthday. For his birthday, he was promised a pair of kittens.
When they came down to meet the Gibsons, Pheona and Sherman had already been picked, so their choices were between Cedric, Charles, and Rutherford.
With these adorable selections, this choice wasn't easy.
In fact, they were completely torn, and during their visit, they went back and forth many times discussing who might be the best pair for them. A decision was made, and Charles and Cedric were their choices.
But on the car ride home, they discussed it a little further. They even discussed the idea of adopting all three. In the end, Simon decided that his birthday kittens should be Cedric and Rutherford. Mikala sent me a note when they returned home letting me know of their change in plans.
Cedric and Rutherford left this Saturday afternoon and now are all settled into their new home, and I'm sure, making a certain young man and his family quite happy.
Happy Birthday, Simon! Happy Adoption Day, Cedric and Rutherford!

I just know Charles won't have to wait much longer. A friend and her husband couldn't bear to leave the last kitten behind when adopting their youngest two, so they ended up with a grand total of six: their two resident elders, the new kittens and a stray who later adopted them as well! :)
ReplyDeleteI know the feeling, Minakitty.. If had the wherewithal, I could adopt every cat that I ever saw in a shelter. I just hate leaving those little faces behind. Three is plenty, surely wouldn't want to be accused of being a crazy cat lady. :)
ReplyDeleteI hope Simon and family give these two lots of love forever! Charles will find his forever home soon!
ReplyDeleteHooray for another pair! I'm sure that Cedric and Rutherford will have a grand time.
ReplyDeletehas gorgeous charlie found a castle yet? I so wish I was in the area so I could adopt him!
ReplyDeleteI have a couple of leads, but nothing confirmed.
DeleteWell, I'm sure Charlene will appreciate the quiet(er) time with just one kitten. Oh, I wish I could bring him home with me -- he's my favorite from this litter, paws down!
DeleteCouldn't think of a better birthday present myself-A pair of Gibsons! Best to Cedric and Rutherford, and I am sure Simon will have loads of fun with his new kittens. There is nothing better than a pair of kittens to watch romp and play, and grow up together :D
ReplyDeleteAnother pair gone off to their new home, with a birthday boy, no less -- what fun for everyone! I know they're all going to have a wonderful time together.
ReplyDeleteFare well young Rutherford and Cedric!
ReplyDeleteY'all will have a lifetime of lovin' and play with your new family.
((sniff)) Now, young Charles is getting some advanced tutelage from Professor Bean.
Laurie, has Charles found a home? I'm sure he's currently enjoying quality time with Bean, but I hope he's been snapped up by now.
ReplyDeleteIf he's still available, I may have to try to integrate him with our two bratty boy cats--he's such a cute little boy!
I have a couple of leads, but nothing confirmed.
DeleteAdopting a cats is like your adopting a kids. This is like your accepting an obligation. These pets will need a family who can love and comfort for them.
ReplyDeleteHow wonderful for the family who will now be celebrating a birthday and two gotcha days all at once! I love the idea of Simon growing up with Cedric and Rutherford! Well done, Laurie!
ReplyDeleteNow all thoughts turn to Bonnie Prince Charlie! He'll have his forever home in no time!
Poor Charles! I hope he finds a home with another kitteh.....
ReplyDeleteI am sure Laurie is saving her story of Charles for tomorrow, since she has noticably not answered any of the questions about his finding his castle... Congrats to all the new families!!
ReplyDeleteI haven't answered because I've been away today.
DeleteWho is going to promise me a pair of kittens for my birthday?? :)
ReplyDeleteAre there any new fosters in the wings, waiting for your love and care?
ReplyDeleteI heard the Tacoma Pierce County Humane Society is now giving out cats that are black, tuxedo, or over 8 years old for FREE! That means minus the usual fees for spay/neuter/processing.
ReplyDeleteFarewell Cedric and Rutherford, we so enjoyed your stay. Good luck with your fun forever family! Keeping fingers crossed for sweet Charles.
ReplyDeleteThat first photograph is so precious--the expressions on their faces are priceless. How I love getting my Itty Bitty fix each day.
ReplyDeleteOh, I was in hopes they'd take all three! Happy homecoming to Cedric and Rutherford. We hope they have many happy healthy years together.
ReplyDeleteWow, I never noticed what fine ear tufts they had!
ReplyDeleteCedric has been guarding my cellphone (as the background photo). A fine young carnivore! :)
