I should be more shocked by how much we've raised so far, $47 thousand is a TREMENDOUS amount of money, after all. But I'm not because I know you fine folks out there are caring, compassionate, animal-loving people so OF COURSE you gave. That's who you are, and I thank you for that.
It warms my heart to see the list of donors and donations grow. I've seen many of you donating multiple times. I've seen the names of people who foster, or volunteer at rescues and shelters, on our lengthy list. Even employees of our Humane Society, the organization we're raising money for, are making donations. That says so much about who works at the HS and how much they believe in the work they are doing.
Thank you, thank you, everyone. I hope you know how much you mean to us. You're a special bunch, and it feels good to be surrounded by all of you. We are so touched by your generosity, support and love.
xoxo,
Laurie
What a lovely expression of gratitude! The people and cats of the IBKC -- and I believe I speak for all of us -- return your admiration and love. You bring us all together for a very good cause, and you work hard to make it fun and interesting! Your excellent photography, writing and creativity are also much appreciated! XOXOXO

DeleteCan I also donate if I don't live in the US but in Europe?
ReplyDeleteYou should be able to. I just did a little investigating, and it looks like there's a drop down menu which allows you enter any country when filling out the fields for your address.
ReplyDeleteGood to hear! The kittens bring so much happiness and fluffyness to mine and my boyfriends life and so we're gonna put our money together and donate for the little ones.
DeleteLove from Austria!
Right back at 'cha, Laurie. I only wish I could do as much for my local shelter. They are a fantastic group, but wound up in a lot of city red tape :(
ReplyDeleteThere may be lots you can do for them that doesn't involve donating money. Contact the volunteer coordinator and donate your time. See if they have a list of "needs." I know that our local shelter often needs more than kitty food and litter -- they need office supplies, cleaning supplies, toys, beds, towels, blankets. And once in a while I throw in a treat for the humans, too : )
DeleteWell said Laurie, and thank you for making my days a lot brighter. You and Butterbean do so much for the kittens it is my pleasure to return the favor.
ReplyDeleteI don't think you know how much we appreciate YOU! Crappy days are always made better by looking at the new kitten pics (and also going through the old posts). As a professional fundraiser myself, I just WISH I could have someone like you living in Houston to be MY fundraising rockstar! People have no idea how difficult it is to raise $47 squillion dollars - and you make it look easy! (And floofy, and wispy, and kissable, and loveable.) THANK YOU for being such a model team captain and giving me hope that someday my captains will be as engaged and excited as you and your readers. xoxo
ReplyDeleteLaurie, you've created a wonderful space for a vast group of people who simply share your love of cats and kittens. This beautiful blog is a place where political, philosophical, religious, and all the "divides" among us are respectfully set aside. That in itself is something worthy of support. And so a gaggle of people near and very far have found ourselves caring deeply about a shelter many will never see and celebrating each squillion right along with you. Mr. & Mrs. Kitten Whisperer did one heck of a job!
ReplyDeleteI agree w Cynthia and all. Your wriring, pix, and, above all, generosity every day are a constant source of joy and inspiration. I love the kitties, but it is the love you give them that makes them so amazing!
ReplyDeleteI think it is time for a big group hug! Laurie is an amazing and creative force, and because of her work and love for the ittie bitties, so many of us look forward daily to her posts and the sweet, funny, silly kittens. I love this blog with all my heart. Wish I could send squillions, too.
ReplyDeleteI am honored to be a small part of the IBKC community. The friends I have met because of it are a HUGE blessing to me! XO
ReplyDeleteThank you for all you do every single day for the kitties... and for us. I hope you know how many (human) lives you have touched in a tremendously positive way with this blog.
ReplyDeleteI'm afraid I've given all I can for this year... but I'm cheering from the sidelines and I am so touched by the generosity I see.
Hi! I really enjoy your blog! I have a semi kitty related blog @ http://www.pipastail.blogspot.com
ReplyDeleteI thought you might enjoy it! Just trying to connect with fellow cat enthusiasts!
No...thank you Laurie.
