The weather was perfect, the day was grand. Attendance was great - many dogs, many humans, and one cat.
Meet Ninja Bob.
Our friend Cora works at Coalition Humane, Tacoma's low cost spay and neuter clinic. Ninja Bob is on staff at Coalition Humane too, I think he's official title is "King of the Clinic".
Bob spends his days surrounded by many dogs, so attending Dog-A-Thon, didn't stress him out one bit.
He knows how to deal with dogs, and he met many that day.
He also "met" Charlene.
So Cora, Ninja Bob, our friend Monica, teammates Sarah and Shana, Shana's husband Jim and their pup, Blixa, Craig and I all set off to walk the walk together.
This is Blixa.
Bob is a special cat. He has just three legs and only a partial tail. He's quite mobile though, and had no problems at all taking on the trail.
He did have a little trouble keeping his focus, so Craig picked a piece of tall grass and drug it along the path to grab Bob's attention and keep him moving along.
That worked for awhile, but then Bob decided to duck into the weeds and lurk.
So we took turns carrying Bob the rest of the route.
So Cool -- glad everybody (feline, canine and human) enjoyed the day.
ReplyDeletePS: Laurie I LOVE your socks !!
Ninja Bob is too awesome for words. Both the name and the expressions on his face are too cute!
ReplyDeleteI'm in love with Ninja Bob.
ReplyDeleteYeah for you guys (and mom is a little in love with Ninja Bob).
ReplyDeleteA great way to start my day!
ReplyDeleteNinja Bob and Blixa rocked the walk with their staff and fans!
Yay for walking the walk! It's amazing that Ninja Bob kept his focus for even as long as he did. He probably just wanted to go for shoulder rides with everybody anyway!
ReplyDeleteNinja Bob knocks my socks off (though they aren't spiffy ones like yours). What a great day all of you had.
ReplyDeleteIs Ninja Bob wearing a pedometer!?
ReplyDeleteIt's a camera.
Deletelovin' me some ninja Bob!!
ReplyDeleteNinja Bob has stolen my heart!!
ReplyDelete<3
Nice to meet you, Bob! What a fun fellow you seem to be!
ReplyDeleteWhat a trooper Ninja Bob is! The human is amazed he walked a distance with the leash and let himself be carried the rest of the way. No one carries us around--period!
ReplyDeletethat picture of him perched on a guy's shoulder is priceless!
ReplyDeleteI'm crazy about the one of Bob lurking in the weeds!
DeleteNinja Bob is a true inspiration...who says a cat needs 4 legs?
ReplyDeleteHaha love Ninja Bob...awesome name. Blixa is cute too! Looks like it was a blast...
ReplyDeleteYay Ninja Bob for representing the cats and kitties! My girl cat says she has a crush on you now.
ReplyDeleteLove it! Is it too late to order an IBKC poster? I'm waffling about it, but I keep leaning towards "REALLY WANT!".
ReplyDeleteWe still have some left, and will continue to sell them in our shop until they're all gone.
DeleteAlice: I got one, and it's awesome. The illustration looks even better in person, and it's printed on thick, high-quality paper. TOTALLY worth the money.
DeleteWhat a great day! And I love your socks Laurie! I absolutely LOVE Ninja Bob, especially his tripod-ness!
ReplyDeleteNinja Bob is AWESOME! I love a tri-pod...my Saki is a floofy black and white tri-pod kitty. She doesn't know she is missing a leg, she runs like a little rabbit.
ReplyDeleteNinja Bob appears to be in fine ninja form when lurking in the brush! What a cutie! Blixa is pretty awesome as well - what gorgeous eyes!
ReplyDeleteWill we get to see any of Ninja Bob's pictures of the walk?
ReplyDeleteThank you IBKC for letting me walk with you. It was truly an honor. If it weren't for people like you, a cat like me wouldn't have had a chance.
ReplyDeleteAnd thank you to all my adoring fans. And to Sarah and Craig for carrying me.
And, yes, it is a video camera attached to me. I'm working diligently on editing (I'm not the smoothest walker with only three legs), but will have the video posted on my facebook page soon!
Can we friend you on Facebook? What's your page called?
DeleteI couldn't find Ninja Bob's facebook page, but I did come across his blog! Here's a link:
Deletehttp://ninjabobsblog.blogspot.com/
Found it! His FB page is listed as Nin Ja Bob.
DeleteYes, all, please friend me at www.facebook.com/ninjabobcat
DeleteI absolutely love new friends!
You're one awesome cat Ninja Bob. :)
DeleteQuestion for you, how do you stay slender with the 3 legs? I have a tripod kitty and because he doesn't move as much, he's put on a few pounds which means he doesn't move as much. Quite the dilemma really.
Da Bird feather toy by Go Cat. It's my one true weakness. I can't resist chasing it.
DeleteI (heart) Ninja Bob!!
ReplyDeleteKing Ninja Bob rocks! Blixa was honored to meet him.
ReplyDeleteNinja Bob obviously did an excellent job of representing kitties everywhere.
ReplyDeleteCongrats to all who walked!
So wonderful! Ninja Bob is hilarious—love him being all ninja in the weeds! :)
ReplyDeleteNinja Bob did a GREAT job as the feline ambassador! I absolutely adore him!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations and thanks to all two, three and four legged beings who walked the Walk!
Oh Laurie, you do make my day! Ninja Bob in the bushes is cracking me up :)
ReplyDeleteRock on, Ninja Bob!
ReplyDeleteLOVE, LOVE, LOVE...Ninja Bob!! Such a tough (but sweet) face!!
ReplyDeleteBob is MAGNIFICENT!!!!!
ReplyDeleteWhat a trooper Bob is. I'm still considering whether or not I want to adopt a 3rd cat after losing my buddy, Sarge, to cancer 2 months ago. I have it narrowed down to two choices, a black cat who is diabetic and a brown tabby who is nearly blind in one eye. Or I may decide things are better with 2 cats and keep the new status quo instead of taking a risk like what happened after Dewey passed in 2010.
ReplyDeleteErr Drewey, sorry about that. Dang typo.
DeleteI volunteer at the San Francisco SPCA and we're lucky enough to be in a no-kill county. However, in most areas, the special needs cats are the first to be euthanized. If you have the means to adopt one of those special needs cats, I highly recommend it. It is always sad to lose a cat but it is so rewarding to know that you were able to give a good life to a cat who may not have had much of a chance if not adopted. Even in San Francisco, we are ecstatic when we find those special adopters for those special kitties because it frees up space to save another cat from a county that does euthanize. Good luck in your decision making! I'm sure whatever you decide will be the best decision for all involved.
DeleteI just want to give props to Blixa, too. He's got a great look in his (her?) eye. If I had a dog, I'd want one like Blixa.
ReplyDeleteAwww, thanks Karen! Blixa is our big bundle of joy. She and her brother Rudy love kitties. Rudy, a little too much, if you know what I mean. :)
DeleteBest!
Blixa is gorgeous!
DeleteHas Blixa visited the IBKC in the past? I vaguely remember a big dog with little kittens in a past post...
DeleteNinjas must lurk. It's in their nature. Then ninjas can perch, while others do their bidding.
ReplyDeleteWhat an adorable picture of him being carried.. :)
Hmmmm, and the picture of Laurie wearing her kitty crown is where? :)
ReplyDeleteOf course Ninja Bob was lurking in the weeds. He was ninja-ing. Makes perfectly good sense to me. I have two Siamese cats that are stealth-like, so they must be 'stealthing.'
ReplyDeleteWhat a great report from the Dog-a-Thon Walk, Laurie! Loved meeting Ninja Bob and watching his stealthy ninja techniques in the tall grass. He seems a bit smitten with the picture of Charlene.
ReplyDeleteLaurie and Craig, Kitty wrangler and Cat herder!
