I asked Opal the Human (not Opal the Kitten) if she might be interested in naming a kitten from this litter and she was more than happy to oblige. She took the job quite seriously, and thought hard about it for several days.
Because of her gray coat and gray eyes, Opal decided "Pearl" would be a good choice. Pearl's middle name is Mae, just like Opal's.
Thank you Opal for giving it so much thought and selecting such a lovely and fitting name for our little girl.
Ms Petrie, you are a Pearl, indeed.
Oh, that little velvety nose..
ReplyDelete*thunk*
I love this kitten's eyes. Are they still gray like in the first picture or are they turning more green? Beautiful either way.
ReplyDeleteThey're a gray-green.
DeleteInteresting. Pretty girl :)
DeleteClementine wants to hang out with Pearl REAL BAD! She is adorable...
ReplyDeleteHurrah for letting Opal (the human) name a kitten. She so deserves it. And what a perfect name too! Good job young lady!
ReplyDeleteSuch a cutey.. you should definitely name one of the next kittens 'Opal'.. so pretty x
ReplyDeleteThere's been an Opal (see the labels to the right) - Opal McGillicuddy! And there are lovely pictures of Opal (girl) and Opal (kitty) together!
DeleteThis little Pearl is the cutest!
Pearl Petrie--purrfect! Good work, Opal!
ReplyDeleteIm not suprised little miss Opal took great care over the kitty name, such a special child would know how important it is!
ReplyDeleteThis kitty is a real pearl.
Please thank Opal (the human) for giving Miss Pearl Mae Petrie her lovely name.
ReplyDeleteOpal did a perfect job naming this beauty! Hurray for Pearl Mae Petri! Hurray for Opal too!
ReplyDeleteThis litter has such unusual and distinguished names. Perfect for each one!
ReplyDeleteOoh...good name! She's like a beautiful little Tahitian pearl...Nicely done, Opal!
ReplyDeleteI love that you keep Opal (the girl) involved with the IBKC. I also love that you asked her to pick a name - she did a wonderful job!
ReplyDeleteTwo gems, Opal and Pearl. When I look at jewelry now I'll think of kittens and their friends :)
ReplyDeletePerfect name for such a cute kitty. And yay...I have the same middle name.
ReplyDeleteI am already so in love with this bitty little kitty! Pearl is a beautiful name, Mae is great too -- very well done, Opal!
ReplyDeleteHer eyes are such a pretty color!
ReplyDeleteI love Pearl's little expressive ears - "I think you're nice but I"m not 100% sure at the moment..."
ReplyDeleteSuch a pretty name chosen by a truly adorable child for a beautiful little kitty -- what else could be better? Pearl, you are indeed a pearl of a kitten, and Opal is, of course, a pearl of a girl. I'd say they're two of a kind!
ReplyDeleteLovely name for this beautiful gray girl. Opal did a purrfect job. And no oysters were harmed during this naming!
ReplyDeleteAww, nuts, I commented using my son's log-in. Nicarus is actually Robin Larkspur. Does anyone else do this, or am I the only, um, dork?
ReplyDeleteWe geeks call that a derp :)
DeleteMy sweet grey girl thinks this grey girl is particularly adorable :)
ReplyDeleteI think Miss Pearl Mae's famiy (and us) would love a picture of Miss Opal and Miss Pearl! Thanks for letting her name a kitten, Laurie. Miss Opal has done much for IBKC.
ReplyDeleteShe is adorable.....wish I could have her.....

She is just lovely and those eyes are absolutely gorgeous!
ReplyDeletePresumably if you'd solicited Opal (The Kitten)'s input this little fuzzbundle would be called "Brrrt-mao"?
ReplyDeleteDear Pearl Mae Petrie, have I mentioned that I think you're absolutely PERFECT? And that I love your goofy little face?
ReplyDeleteAww, what a lovely name for a lovely girl!
ReplyDeletePearl Mae is the perfect name for this little girl. Thanks, Opal!
ReplyDeleteLet's hope the furever folks love the name as much as we all do, 'cause I sure do. Thanks Ms. Opal (the human) for such a thoughtful, perfect name.
ReplyDeleteaww...two precious gems.

Perfect! What a wonderful choice, Opal (the human)! Pearl Mae - may I call you Pearl?
ReplyDeleteA Silver Pearl! Clearly a gem, just like Opal :)
ReplyDeletePearl Mae's eyes are so very near to matching her fur! What a beautiful little kitten she is!
ReplyDeleteOpal Mae is such a thoughtful, creative girl. I've been taken with her generous heart since first meeting her here, and am so pleased she was chosen to name a kitten.
ReplyDeleteAs for Pearl Mae ... what a sweet beauty of an itty bitty.
