Even if you explain to them why it is they can't be fed, they don't understand.
It's painful to witness, and I hate to put them through it, but of course it must be done.
These are the faces of hungry, angry kittens.
Yep, our little Petries are off getting their bitty bits removed.
We've found homes for nearly all, and they'll start departing this weekend. Dear Forrest still needs to find his family. So, if you have a secret crush on this boy, live in our area, and can offer a fabulous home to this stellar kitten, please step forward now.
Their visit with us has been brief. They didn't have much growing to do when the arrived. We just needed to fatten them up a bit, and work on their social skills.
Well, they're fatter and fearless, so it's time to move on.
Sadly, but so.
Oh Noes! Not yet! Too soon! Forrest!!! (If only I lived closer!)
ReplyDeleteI think "you're cute when you're angry!" applies to this bunch. :)
ReplyDeletePoor hungry, cranky kitties. Hope their surgeries all go smoothly and that all is back to normal-kitten-craziness soon enough.
ReplyDeletePoor hangry kitties!
ReplyDeleteYep - hungry kittens are not to be messed with. Of course, around here, our breakfast gets withheld until all kittens are rounded up and captured for transport - which leads to hungry and cranky adult kitties as well. :)
ReplyDeleteIf only I lived near you dear Forrest <3
ReplyDeleteI thought for sure Forrest had found a home with a certain family from the Tacoma area. I heard Craig liked gray kitties and Laurie was holding on to the name Forrest for a special kitty...Forrest is the only kitty left without a home? Is his middle name Kismet?
ReplyDeleteOh, I know how it feels : ( Kat Von D has her surgery 1st thing tomorrow and we're taking her in to spend the night at the vet - too many other animals round here want feeding. It's going to be a loooong 24 hrs!
ReplyDeleteOh NOES! Surgery? TOo soon! But homes? Great news. Forrest, your peeps are out there, they just don't know it yet. Send out them kitten love rays. AFTER your tummy is full.
ReplyDeleteWow, that is so soon. I knew they were big (relatively speaking) when you got them...but I was just starting to be able to tell the difference between Forrest and Perla at a distance!
ReplyDeleteI can only imagine the chorus in indignant meowing coming from this crowd of kitties - I have one adult cat who cries endlessly when his food bowl is even close to empty, and that is noise enough to get me out of bed to feed him!
ReplyDeleteWhat piercing eyes on that sweet little kitty boy! I bet Forrest finds his forever home in no time at all...what a sweet bunch the Petries are (even if they are angry, i get cranky too when i want breakfast ;)
ReplyDeleteAww, bless their little hungry hearts!
ReplyDeleteSomeone out there is in dire need of a little gray cat, I just know it!!
Cute babies!
ReplyDeleteAwwwww....it's so hard to say no to them even if it's for their own good! :(
ReplyDeleteSaying a little prayer for Forrest to find his home soon. :)
i have a crush on Forrest! I wish i lived closer - i know he'll find a great family that loves him a lot!!
ReplyDeleteThis illustrates 2 ways I would fail as a kitten fosterer (is that a word?)
ReplyDeleteI could not resist those eyes (especially Forrest's)and would give in...and I could never let any of those babies (especially Forrest) go!
Praying for a great family to discover sweet Forrest soon!
Aw man, this is the worst/best part about the IBKC: they come (sad, alone, tiny), they eat, they leave (lovely confident cats). But dear forest, with his gentlemanly ways... surely he'll find a forever home very soon!
ReplyDeletein my house, no one, including me, eats till the baby going to the vet is in the carrier and out by the car. I get to wait till after the drop off but as the human, know what the deal is. I know all about HANGRY... Forest will be 'home' soon...
ReplyDeleteHANGRY should be in the next list of new words. I love it!
DeleteAww, it seems too soon to see the Petries leaving the IBKC :'( But of course that means they are healthy and doing well. They will be missed nonetheless. If I lived nearby I would welcome dear Forrest into our home in a heartbeat <3
ReplyDeleteTheir big hungry eyes!
ReplyDeleteOh I would scoop up Forrest in a heartbeat if I was closer...he'd make such a wonderful addition to my feline menagerie...and I think some needs to come up with a game of Angry Kittehs! I guess they would fling sparkle balls? lol...
ReplyDeleteWow. The dark side of fostering, eh? :)
ReplyDeleteWe're feeding Maren and Keith separately for a while, and Keith was confined on the catio last night waiting for dinner. He sounded like he was being tortured. I was afraid the neighbors were going to call Kitty Protection Services.
Oooh, my little Raleigh (no so little, really, he's 6 months old) had his surgery this morning too! He's conked out on the couch right now. He was so happy to have a nibble when he got home. He was so good at the vet's, though, he got some jingly ball toys to bring home. :) Raleigh feels your pain, little Petries!! =^.^=
ReplyDeleteHehehe... Did the vet thing the jingly ball toys would replace what was taken out in the surgery? I wonder what little Raleigh would say...
DeleteAww, that was quick! Good luck kittens!
ReplyDeleteWhat... You get that ONLY on the day of surgery?? I get that hungry, screaming mad cat thing going on any morning if I dare to delay their breakfast by more than .26 minutes after my feet hit the floor. Forrest can come live with me, but he'd need to cross two state lines first. :(
ReplyDeleteForrest is my favorite! I can't believe he's the last to go! I guess there is just a family out there that really needs a stellar cat like Forrest and he's just holding out for them.
ReplyDeleteFatter and fearless - Laurie you're a hoot!
ReplyDeletePurrs for the precious furbabies as they have their surgeries. They are just precious :)
ReplyDeleteIt's a good think I live in Oregon instead of Washington or I would have more kitties thank I already do!
ReplyDeleteoops "than" not "thank" - too much caffeine today!!
